plat I think is platelet count
but 128 makes no sense to me so it might not be... normal count if it was should be 150-400 (that's x 109 per litre of blood before anyone comments :P )
MIL (who is qualified as MW and nurse although retired a few years ago) says if it's under 11 for haemoglobin then you need to take iron - being as the "norm" range on my tests states 11 as the lower of the "norm" then I guess she might be right for once
Edit to say it COULD be platelet count - I figured I'd google it to check and lo and behold it states something about things like epidurals are avoided if the level is below 80-100... hohum (oh and reason I know about platelet counts is that my cousin is a haemophiliac so grew up learning about her platelet counts and what levels they started worrying about her etc)

Moneysaver, it probably is aneamia, it's quite common... And it really does vary from health authority to health authority when you get your scan... My 12 week one was phoned through by the midwife while I was there (although she booked it for 13 weeks) but some people have to wait for a letter to come through... And I think Tine's scan was booked before she saw a midwife (but I could be wrong there)
Moneymaker, it could be pelvic girdle pain, often confused with sciatica... I got it bad with Aimee and had it a lot at the beginning of this pregnancy when everything was softening up... It settled down after a while.
Thanks Tine, I figured it was platelets but haven't bothered looking anything up... I figured they'd of let me know if there was a problem... (And I don't plan on an epidural anyway)

Mmmmm Maternity pads... knew I'd forgotten something on my long list of things I need to buy eventually for going to hospital
Have SOME breast pads but guess at some point I ought to buy some moreFriends of ours made me a pregnancy basket when they came over for dinner and had not only breast pads in there but nipple soothing cream and stuff in there
Bless them!
Have kind of decided not to buy anything more like that until I go on maternity leaveJust incase some of my coleagues decide to be nice and buy me stuff for leaving... well I don't expect it but you never know right?

Yarp Mine was booked long before I saw a midwife! Ironically I then also had a scan before that as I ended up admitted to hospital but I think I got my 12 week scan appointment through at about uhmmmm 6 weeks? Just before I was admitted if memory serves...
wouldn't worry too much about platelets - they'll soon shout if they think they are too low is my viewI'm just going on what we had to keep an eye on with my cousin so maybe it's normal for them to "dip" in pregnancy? Can't reach my folder to see if mine had any platelet counts on them lol and too lazy to get up

You'll get a little credit card size card with dates on to show if you're asked for it. When you go to get this prescription, just tick the box on the back of the green form for "has a maternity exemption card" (or words to that effect) and say you're waiting for it. If they get stroppy, they might make you pay - if they do, make sure you get a proper receipt and you can claim it back later.0 -

Caz came back! (connection probs, thankfully!) Due date today, nothing happening, although I don't think she's been back since the midwife was going round this aft so it may have all kicked off!
Did you have a good few days away?0
