Hi all!
Jillie, when are you due? There's been an Asda Baby Event in September for the last few years too
I was woken up by a phone call from the Wickes salesman at 10am, wanting to arrange our appointment for the planning/ordering of the kitchen. All booked for Friday evening - got to get it ordered before 26th I think to get it in the sale and we're away from 23rd! Nowt like leaving it to the last minute..
I've had two breakfasts and now got to get ready to go out. OH has been in a bit of a funny mood this morning, didn't seem very receptive to the idea of going out, but I've worked out what's wrong - he's about fifty pages from the end of the book he's reading and he wants to get it finished before we go and I keep interupting with shouting out about this and that baby store!Apparently I'm driving there (about forty mins) so he can finish his book and I've got his full attention
AM, hope you get the car sorted, one way or the other
Hope everyone has a good day!
(Feelie, hope you're okay too.. noticed you weren't here yesterday - hope you were just having delayed b'day celebrations! xx)
ETA: Tine, I'll have another look at the bits you sent me / said about work on Friday later tonight and let you know if I can think of anything else0 -

There have been a couple of threads about it.. one was called Baby Essentials, I think - I was reading it last night
I think the moses basket/crib thing is they are smaller so you are more likely to be able to find room for them in your bedroom (I think the guidelines say about keeping baby in your room for the first six months at least), plus they're smaller so a little baby doesn't feel quite so lost in them. You could have a travelcot instead and then you'll have it for multiuses in the future. It seems moses baskets last about 4/5 months, cribs last 6/7 months then babies go into their cots.. Moses baskets can be picked up second hand for as little as about £20, but you should always buy a brand new mattress for it.
ETA: AM wrote a list for us a few (probably about 20 by now!) pages back too0 -

I have a moses basket, cot and am getting a crib LOL
But the moses basket cost me a tenner, got the cot for free so dont mind paying out for a crib, if I had to buy it all new i dont think i'd have all 3.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

Thanks for support last night girls, OH is out today so me and millie had a lie in and we are not planning on doing anything today, also hoping OH will cook when he gets back.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
I used mysupermarket.com for the first time ever and I love it! :j *gushes*
Got to make a proper budget and stuff now. We put the extra £2000 for the car upgrade onto my credit card... and also we have a sofa coming in about 6 weeks which I still have to pay off.... and a holiday in May to get spending money for.... But atleast we won't be squandering all our extra cash! So £50 to CC £50 to savings a week. Should manage it. I hate having debt... but then we are impatient... Baby stuff, I should make a proper list, but the Health in pregnancy grant will pay for the cot, carry cot and car seat!
Ok, list, spreadsheet, time to do tha books.... :eek:0 -
Just been talking to OH about the strange names everyone in Shipwrecked seem to have now.. I said maybe there was a strange name phase going on in about 1990.
OH then asked when Philidephia Tyxilix was born.. :rotfl: He meant Paula Yates' daughter, Fifi Trixibelle!
Her others were Peaches Honeyblossom, Pixie, and Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, just in case anyone needs some inspiration.0 -
