Hello! You guys have been busy on this thread as usual!
I saw Elle-Gee was asking if we had any scan's well my first one is tomorrow at 2.50! I'm really excited and really nervous, there's still a part of me that's convinced that there'll be no baby because of that stupid doctors receptionist who told me id' "probably" miscarry anyway....b1tch!
But hopefully everything should be ok, I still have a fair few pregnancy symptoms even though my nausea is easing off and my appetite is coming back at last. I just wish time wasn't moving so slowly, i just want to see my baby!
My sister is in for her 20week scan this morning and she's going to find out what flavour she's having so i'm waiting for a text from her as well! It's all so exciting!
fingers crossed by the end of tomorrow i should be able to join the Facegroup group and feel a bit more of a part of this group...at the moment i still feel like a bit of a fraud!
Hubbies and MIL's wise I think i'm pretty lucky, OH is lovely, but it took me a long time to train him to get to here! He takes very good care of me, is dealing phenominally well with my mood swings and general pregnancy related lethargy! His parents are very different to my family, but they're good people and generally i get on really well with them. Except for his uncle and family who seem to have some "race" related issues with me....but even them I'm polite to, i don;t see the need to reduce myself to their level!
Hope you're all well and I'll update you tomorrow on my scan!! Fingers crossed !

a quick question for those of you who have done this all before....
what are you feelings in relation to having the injection after birth to assist with the delivery of the placenta???
The only time I didn't have it was no.3. Long story why but I had to go back to hospital afterwards as some of the placenta hadn't come away and it was getting infected. So obviously from my point of view I need it!Too many children, too little time!!!0 -

I had it last time and the actual injection hurt a bit (probably because my MW jst shoved it in my thigh without warning!)
Its one of the things I'm going to discuss in more detail this time around as I'm still considering not cutting the cord as quickly as usual and so I don't know if they would still give it to me just wait a bit longer or not.
I will deffo be making sure its clear to the MWs that no needles should touch me with out warning tho! I need to prepare myself!
Have you been given a leaflet about it? I've got one that was made by my PCT about that and vit K for baby, If in doubt have a discussion with ur MW0 -
Morning all
Kurjam,
try not to worry hun.I also had to have a c-section with DS1 because I have epilepsy(not severe but if I do have a seizure its without warning and fall over) and they thought section would be safest route to go gien first labour etc
I got myself into a state and panicked but it was actually very positive.
The medical team were great, chatted away to me,radio on and the worst part for me was the recovery part at home.
I would lift things without thinking and that took a while to get over but the op itself was good.

I had the injection with DS2 last time and I couldn't remember it tbh, because my son had been born a bit distressed and needed help to start breathing so I had my attention and eyes glued to him and MW must have did the injection and the rest.
I can't remember that bit at all.0 -

The injection hurt me too Sami, I wasn't expecting it either... I think they just assume you're too busy goggling at the baby to notice them stabbing you in the leg... I'm going tp make them wait until the cord stops pulsing this time before cutting it too... So don't know if the injection will be needed by then...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Jo_R - Is there any chance you could get ur OH to see MW with you so she can discuss all the benefits of a HB? If he's anything like my OH I know they won't read any info you gave them but he can't escape if someone is talking with him!
It must be quite scary for them I think
Hypno - am I right in thinking you are white and OH is black or did I make that up? I'm glad that whatever their issue you keep it as theirs, very growed up of you! :T0
