elle - sorry for butting in but are you having enough clear fluids* to drink? sorry you just seem to be suffering a bit with headaches at the min... Have you had your eyes checked out (I know they are supposed to change when pg - I made the mistake of having my prescription changed when preg and had to have it changed after bumps arrival as the prescription changed again)

    * personally can't drink water so add some ribena atm - it is sweet both ways - sorry possibly tmi :o

I'm still here.. OH decided he wanted a cuppa before bed but he always drinks it in the living room (strange boy!)

I'm possibly not drinking enough.. must try harder tomorrow. I can't stand water either but I've got some squash at work so will have that. Funnily enough, Lucozade made me feel better earlier - not sure if it would have been the sugar or just the fact it was liquid.

I wear glasses for driving and supposed to for watching tv when it's far away, but I never sit and just watch tv, it's usually on in the background whilst I have the laptop closer or am reading a magazine so I don't bother wearing my glasses in the house. The glasses aren't very strong (0.5?) but my prescription was changed to slightly stronger (0.75?) in Sept but I haven't got round to getting new glasses yet - have to go on a weekend for that and wanted to take OH for his opinion (he works quite a few weekends). I could just get the lenses changed in my old ones, but I have a cashback scheme from work where I get £100 a year to spend on glasses so I wanted to use all of that on new glasses, not just the lenses, if you see what I mean.

If I only wear the glasses outside of the house, I didn't think it could be that.. My eyeballs themselves ache and are tender to touch - not that I made a habit of poking myself in the eye! - so I thought it might just be tiredness.. I should spend less time on here too! Use a PC all day at work, then tend to have my laptop on all evening too... God, that sounds so bad! :o

I'll stop ranting now.. OH just made the tea :) Will drink more tomorrow and see what happens. Thankyou for your advice xx

Just thought of something else.. MIL and various others keep talking about a Malteser advert  I don't know what they're talking about though so I thought I would look for it on youtube. I just tried and got 16,000+ results!

If anyone knows the ad I'm talking about and is any good at searching on youtube, please could you look it up for me? Thanks lots and lots! :)
  • Is it the ad with the pregnant lady who puts the malteser on her bump and then bump kicks?

If your ms is bad it will be making you dehydrated too... you will be cursing me tomorrow when you are running to the loo every 5 mins... night x

Sorry youtube/facebook are beyond me I spend too much time on comp as it is :S

Elle is it the ad with the jeans that "shrink in the wash"

OK I'm really peed off now!
just had an email of MIL that ended "See you Friday for Moo's Birthday (belated thanks to work)" Moo is Hubby's nick name btw
Hubby had booked thurs and fri off work, his b-day is thursday but his work managed to "lose" the diary sheet that his holiday was written on (about the 4th time a sheet with OH's hol on has been lost:rolleyes:) so now he's going to spend his birthday driving to glasgow and back!
When OH got home today I told him I'd got nice M&S food for a birthday tea, while I was in the kitchen I heard him on the fone to his mum but didn't listen to what was said so it would seam we are going to his mums on friday. he had better blooming be home at a decent time on thursday or I'll be fuming!
Plus we were hopefully gonna take Chris to the Zoo on OH's bday so that'll be friday now, when he'll be wanting to get home to his mummy for tea

and we usually go to MY mum's for friday tea but OH has managed to talk me out of it for weeks, he's always happy to go to his mums but not mine and his mum's isn't as clean or safe as my mums and they always eat at like 7pm which is meant to be Chris's bedtime!!

I also sent her the carseat base deal that MFD found and she has just ignored me so I asked her if she got the mail and she said she did but thought it was too early to buy it  Don't offer to buy me stuff if your not willing to get it when I want it!

Sorry i know that is a bit all over the place but I'm so annoyed!

  • Oh sami - sometimes the mil that comes free with the oh makes you wonder ;) Have a (hug) Sometimes I think they just struggle with giving up their "baby" and try to make our lives as impossible as they can...

It has taken 10 years for mil and I to come to the (silent) agreement that we are actually quite like the other  This was the lady that called me a <not very nice name> at the table after Christmas dinner on dd1's 1st Christmas - she waited until dh had left the room before her outburst - belive me there was no love lost...

Is there anyway you can combine what you both want to do? Maybe find a cheap hotel room and go to a zoo on the Saturday? (on the way home?)

oh we live close to both, the Zoo is about an hour away and MIL is only 10 mins away from here, in fact MIL's is on the way home from the zoo. I just know he'll be rushing us around in the afternoon because we'll hit Friday rush hour traffic on the motorway, which obviously we wouldn't have to worry about if we could have gone on thursday. Although as far as he is aware I don't even know we are going because he didn't ask/tell me we are going and probably won't until about 3pm on friday!!

I actually get on really well with MIL as a friend but we always clash over family stuff because we are really different, she is IMO spoilt and babies her boys, We had a big bust up about 4 yrs ago when me n hubby split up for few months and i told her exactly what I thought of her :o

Both OH and BIL suffer from stress related illness/conditions that I attribute o the pressure she puts them under - When OH did his GCSEs he was so ill with his IBS that he virtually didn't eat for about 4 months and he lost about 2stone
I only met him when I started college and he was so shy he couldn't pluck up the courage to even talk to me for about 18 mths and even then he could only talk to me on the computer :A It's a good job I was a loud flirty thing back then otherwise we might never have got together!

Well I had better get myself off to bed Night night

  • Sorry sami - it was the Glasgow bit that threw me (I leave my glasses in the car so I know where they are as I can't drive without them... I sound so flaky :o)

If the problem with work and hols is a re occuring problem is there anyone that he can approach about perhaps getting leave confirmed in writing? Doesn't help this time I know...

and why is that I want to eat in the middle of the night but can't face a thing during the day? *grrr*

Better try and go to sleep - again.

eta I googled the preg lady malteser ad and it is one of the few that isn't available online - I think it ran in 2003.
