    Its nearly dinnertime!
    Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.
  • Talking about work and hours...

Do any of you lovely ladies feel bad about working when you have kids??
I only ask as I have no choice since my hubby had to give up chefing 5 years ago when he got diagnosed with chrons disease and I was left as the only income earner. (hence my name on here :D)

I would love to be able to cut down my hours, but don't think I can afford to, and as I work half my week 45 miles away, I only see my DD for 2 hours before bed time 3 days a week and I feel really guilty about it

I am in the wrong profession to be looking for another job at the minute due to the way the ecomony is (mortgages BTW), so am stuck with the job I have.

I guess what I am asking is, am I the only one that feels bad about it?

MM- yer i feel bad think that comes part parcel ... i work 10-4 4days a weeks not a lot i know but sometimes i feel really bad when DD asks can i leave work early to pick her up from school but like you my OH doesnt work (he doesnt have any medical problems and believe me its not through lack of trying as well) so if i quit my job we'd be bu**ered to say the least... i think you just gott remember your doing it for a reason .. so they can eat sleep and have clothes on there back ... my DD understands that and she only 6 bless her :D x
    :)Still searching .....:)
  • DD understands most of the time, but with half term this week, all of her little friends are doing stuff with their mummies and she can't !!!

Its nice to still see her excited when I come through the door at night though, its nice to feel wanted :o
