  • hi all, ive been lurking on this board for about a week now as i suspected i could be pregnant. i did the test yesterday morning and it was positive so i can join in now!

im 24 and have a 3 year old son, i still havent told my OH that im pregnant! i did the test yesterday morning then had to go to work for a 13 hour shift, then today he went to work before i got up and has gone to band practice straight from work. i will hopefully be able to tell him tomorrow night!

I think i may be quite far gone, i seem to be showing already but that could just be the amount of food ive been eating! i havent had a period for a few (maybe 3 or 4) months but i didnt think anything of it as i had not long come off depo so didnt expect normal periods. So... what do i do now (once ive told OH of course) do i make an appointment with my GP and take it from there? it seems a long time ago since last time round!

I must know more about this! Have you done this before?

Yep - and with a toddler. SO-OOOOOO much easier on the nerves and temper than driving down (even if you do overnight stops somewhere) Really can't contemplate that sort of drive with 4 children in the car (loo stops, tempers, squabbles, 'are we nearly there yet?' and then missing a turning off the autoroute..:o ) We have to drive to Folkestone and go over on the chunnel (the kids like doing this - we've been to DLand Paris a few times and it's 30-35 mins on there) and then drive 10-15 mins to the motorail depot. At the other end it's about an hour, I guess? (Obv depends on where you're staying in relation to the stop sites of the train)

Our other choice was flying down (cheapy flights from somewhere like Bristol) but then we'd have to hire a large car at the other end (which would be for the whole hols - heaven forbid DH should end up car-less!!!!) and I actually find flying with small ones hassley- prob'ly cos I get left in charge of them for whole flight and the bigger 2 always suffer with their ears :( DH, of course, is sorted on a plane with the tv and a paper - and he's well away! A large car hire with fully comp no excess insurance for 2 weeks (and parking at airport over here for our car) would be horrendous in July, I expect.

Umm- let me find the site.............

    I highly recommend it!!

I've had a look at those before, She's only a small 2 yo though (still in 18-23 trousers- little shorty legs like me lol!) I don't think she would be big enough for one of those :( I like the idea of the litaf sit/step boards but would be worried about fitting it to either of my 2 doubles, as one is a side by side and i'm not sure that could handle the weight of 3 and my other pram is a mutsy urban, i have a duo seat which i mainly use at the moment and ordered a mutsy step up board hoping that i could have the 2 youngest in the pram and one on the step up board but she's just really wary of that so far. I found out my due date today so have around 23 weeks to get her used to it, if not... perhaps i'm going to need a triple pram after all arrrrrgh lol
Well all is not lost - Have you considered Babywearing? Calin Bleu, baby carrier
I've got a ring sling and a baby wrap, as long as you use them from the start babies generally love them - I'm just worried how chris will react to mummy having a baby attached to her :s

As you can see I wasn't gone long - Hubby fell asleep so I didn't have to Choose between TV and Web

Hi JM (as you will now be known!). Congratulations! :D

If you've got no other health problems, I'd say your best bet is to phone the surgery tomorrow and find out what they're procedure is - sometimes they want you to see a GP, sometimes they just book you straight in with the midwife :)
  • Congrats Jacksonsmum!

After the BFP I phoned up the surgery and asked for a booking in appointment with the MW - I was pretty sure the Dr would do anything other than refer me to MW anyway?

I know what you mean dd2 is 4 and things seem to have changed a bit from when I was expecting her!
