Hope so! There must be a few of us, surely?

On a money-saving note, I just bought some vegan multivits (for B12) from Holland&Barrett online, buy one get one half price - a 6 months supply for less than a tenner.

Shame that they don't sell nooch.

Well, i am attempting to make these vegan burgers for tomorrows dinner:

    http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/vegetables-recipes/the-best-vegan-burger/#oh1YdEUz6sDxwrjb.97

They smell lovely, but i am glad that i have done them 24 hours in advance because they are VERY wet and i am hoping that 24 hours will be long enough to firm them up :)

Meh, the burgers are in the oven as we speak, and i think they are only going to end up as mushy as they look...we'll see.

EDIT- Oh my word! The burgers were lovely! I oven cooked them for 25 mins at 190 and i am SO pleased that i didnt give up and throw them away :)

I will definitely try those burgers! Need to go back to OS basics and wean us off Fry's and Sainsbobs frozen range! We're trying to grow lots this summer so the freezer must be cleared anyway.

MIL bought me a huge bag of coconut flour. I made blueberry muffins with them, as per packet instructions, but they had an odd fluffy texture, though they tasted lovely.

Any suggestions as to how I can use it up?

You wont regret trying the burgers, i am having the leftovers for lunch today, with some salad, avocado, walnuts, vegan mayo and sweet chilli sauce. Yum! They were also my first Instagram photo, LOL! I only set up Instagram on my phone last night :)

I am also trying to grow veggies this year for the first time. We are planning on planting them this weekend. I have potatoes, onions, garlic, beans, peppers, tomatoes and chillies. We'll see how it goes, i am not very good at growing things!

Re the coconut flour- have a look on youtube for someone called Dani Spies. I watch her videos and she did some not so long back on coconut flour, and the rest of her videos are worth a look too :)

Oooh good luck with the growing.

I fear we're being rather overambitious this year.

    We're trying:

Chives, basil, mint, sage, rosemary, thyme, borage, lemon balm, parsley and coriander

Tomatoes, cucumbers, chillies, squashes (all these have now shot up in the dining room window waiting for the weather to accommodate them being planted out)

Mixed lettuce and rocket (first batch of lettuce seedlings already growing indoors)

Carrots and a hardy leafy thing (forgotten what I've planted now) have already been sown

Peas started in loo rolls in doors.

I'm also going to try a three sisters bed, which is a complimentary planting of corn, beans and squash. The corn provides support for the corn, the beans fix nitrogen into the ground and the squash kills weeds and stops the ground being scorched (probably more of a problem in America than Buckinghamshire :rotfl:)

Also giving radishes, rhubarb (won't harvest till next year though) and spring onions a go.

I might just be mad! Can you tell I'm excited? :T

We are having falafels again tonight. Don't think I'll ever tire of them!

ETA: If you're interested, search "CactusBumm" on Youtube. S/he has uploaded a series called "grow your own" which is fab, as well as loads of past episodes of Gardener's World.

    Thanks Zippychick

The burgers look amazing. Jamie has gone nuts for Vegan recipes recently, the website had a whole vegan Christmas menu last year.

This is my first year without any sort of GYO project, we will be moving and I'm getting everything pared down ready to move. I feel bereft:(. I hope it goes well for you!

Instead I am reading up about vegan growing techniques in preparation for my next garden/allotment.

    Morning All :)

pumpkin, what do you usually grow? I am not sure if my attempts at growing will be any good, but i at least want to try it :) I would like to get the boys involved too, bt my 15 year old has no interest. My 10 yr old will help i think.

I have just found out about a vegan shop in Plymouth (my nearest city) and might pop in there soon. They do lots of products, including cosmetics, cleaning stuff as well as food.
They seem to have some fake chorizo in. Now, i am not one for fake meat products, i dont really see the point in things like fake chicken etc.
    But i do miss chorizo.

What is everyones opinions on fake chorizo, has anyone tried some?
