Oh, they do look good!31.5/1000 -
Just thought I'd plug this recipe, which I make a lot:

We had it for dinner last night. Not only is it vegan, it's super cheap, filling and yummy.
It looks delicious! I would reduce the oil content myself though.31.5/1000 -

They're a bit bland I suppose, though I will use them.
So far I've had them two different ways: in a home-made curry where they were not particularly exciting, and also defrosted and shallow fried in coconut oil, with a baked sweet potato and houmous.
They seem much nicer fried.0 -

I always ignore oil suggestions and just put how much I think is needed to fry what I'm frying. Must say I'm quite happy to liberally soak spaghetti in truffle flavoured olive oil though mmmmm0 -
I know they are controversial in many circles but for those interested in the Quorn vegan chicken-style pieces, Asda currently have a "4 for £6" offer, which reduces the price per pack from £2.50 to £1.50.
As they're frozen, it's easy to just stick them in the freezer until needed.
When did Quorn introduce a vegan range? I used to quite like it years ago before I went vegan. I'll have a look for it.0 -
If anyone is looking for a magnificent Vegan Shepherds Pie, i recommend this one from The Vegan Corner on Youtube.
I have made it several times and love it!

Good Morning folks just came across this thread
I have been vegan for 16 years (will be 67 this year), recently discovered a web site Cooking with Plants -lovely recipes and healthy ones . The woman is Anja and from Australia I made my own home made vegan cheese from a recipe of hers and it was good -easy to make -you can print the recipes and her videos are also good -next challenge is to make my own vegan butter from the book called The Vegan Pantry-x:hello::coffee:Penny Pincher in training

ETA - thanks for linking to the site by the way. I've just had a bit of a binge-watch and there are so many things one there I'm itching to make (green burger buns are different). His lovely Italian accent is also nice to listen to

That looks great, before now I've always done the BBC Good Food brown lentil one but I will try this, once we've eaten the dubious baked bean/soya mince/mushroomy one lurking at the back of my freezer :rotfl:0 -

Vegan chicken style pieces, and burgers were introduced around October last year, but only stocked by Asda and Waitrose (and maybe Ocado, can't recall).
Having said that, some branches don't stock any, and others only stock one or the other - my local Asda, for example, only stocks the chicken style pieces, and the local Waitrose has neither.
I fear, with such limited distribution, they might be withdrawn in time. I'm hoping not, but time will tell.0
