Yep cos exactly the same happened to me and I have had Sky+ a year now
thanks jembie,
as i was a customer 4 yrs ago, will i be able to sign up online as a new customer, will sky class me as a new customer ?
im worried that my wife will cancel her sky and when i try and sign up to sky they will reject me in some way, then im screwed and left with no sky tv0 -
I have always signed up first and then cancelled the old account the next day HTH0

i keep putting off contacting sky as we are in the process of rebuilding our kitchen and dont have £49 spare for sky HD, if i get sky HD then it will delay work on the kitchen, i tell her its an amazing deal that you have to grab while you can, but she doesn't appreciate tech like me, the kitchen is more important agreed, i might sell my ipod classic 80gb, anyone interested ?0

I did think of doing this but i thought sky will register that there is already a sky account at the address, if my wife cancels her sky even tho we are not in a contract do we have to give any valid reason like moving house, or simply just say getting expensive might go to freesat HD? whats the best thing to say when cancelling coz we can afford the monthly bill even if expensive0 -
If they note an account on the system when you sign up say you are splittin gup and he/she is leaving
When you cancell just say you dont want it anymore, you dont have to give a reason0 -

i'll do just that, cheers for your input, when my wife is in a better mood i'll try and twist her arm into agreeing to pay £49 for the box,
i know alot of people say sky is expensive (which it is) but i can justify paying them £55 (£65 a month when HD) because we dont go out much because we have a 4 year old boy to think about, so watching TV im sad to say is a big part of our life style at the moment, and if we did go out more often it would only be down the pub/club paying £3 a pint then pi**ing it away. It evens itself out really, we all waste money without really thinking about it.0 -
Got my HD Box installed this afternoon and really pleased with it. My boyfriend and I can notice a difference in the picture. Man who installed it wasn't from Sky. He said they are soo busy, they have had to subcontract some of the work out which probably explains how I went from a 4 month wait down to a 2 week wait!0

registered for a box on feb 1st was told a 12 week wait, got email yesterday and ordered mine to be connected march 2nd (could have had earlier but this was best date for me), was also told when i registered i could not have free instalation because i already had 1 multi-room, but yesterday it let me get free instalation with another multi-room subscription, my kids cant wait to have sky in there room:j0

I already have a multi-room deal with sky with one box in my lounge and another box in my daughters room, and I registered for the HD upgrade under the multiroom banner. Question: does my daughter get an HD Box in her room as well, or will I have to pay for another HD Box. The wording in the ad is very confusing?

Anwering my own question!
If you want an extra HD Box for another room, Sky will charge you £199 for another HD Box as well as £9,95 for another HD Pack. If you already have multi-room your £49 box will incur a £30.00 installation fee. furthermore if you already have multi-room a sky plus box will cost you an additonal £99.
So if you are already a sky customer you are getting shafted!!!
