Morning folks, its a bright sunny one (at the moment) here in Leicestershire, OH has gone off to the allotment, I have a pile of ironing to do and an even bigger pile of washing to go in the washer tonight, hope its fine tomorrow so I can hang it out.

Recovering from yesterdays invasion, did sleep quite well last night for a change.....need to look at my March Menu's I have to do a big shop next week before we go to Paris, have several offer coupons which run out whilst we are away, so figured it would be a good idea to shop a week early.

Sorry to hear about the baby FF, hope all is well...........

Had an email from my freind in France, they have recently had severe snow and ice storms where they live, the leccy went off for 3 days, so they took all the stuff out of the freezer and put it into freezer boxes and then wrapped the boxes in blankets and piled the snow round them. Leccy came back on, boxes unpacked, food frozen solid, back in freezer. Their neighbours left their freezer shut, when the power was restored, opened the freezer and guess what, everything had defrosted...........massive insurance claim. Seems to be a moral there but cannot quite see it somehow??????

Tesco vouchers usually come within a couple of days of them recieving them, I sent for vouchers for eurotunnel and had them within 3 days, I sent them recorded delivery....... could not risk them getting lost in the post, paid for our trip to France in September. I am saving now for flights to New York, its a good job that they are valid for 2 years, reckon it will take me that long to save up, will not have the advantage of the £2,500's worth of champagne I got on special offer for a friend last year.........

Living in the sunny? Midlands, where the pork pies come from:

saving for a trip to Florida and NYC Spring 2008

    Total so far £14.00!!

    Morning everyone :)

Big hug FF, I'm sure your nephew is in good hands and will be much better soon. :)

Boys meeting went on until 11:30pm last night why are mens voices sooo loud!! Glad I decided to go to bed early not that I got to sleep until they'd gone anyway but it saved me from more questions...DH did come upstairs and woke me up (well I wasn't fully asleep) to ask where the company cheque book was *how rude*.

Two loads on the line and one load just finished in WM will put another load in shortly, DW not quite fully loaded yet so might wait until after dinner. SC is on with enough beef stew for today and tomorrow. Kitchen has been tidied and worktops washed down. I've also sorted through shed/out building and put out some cupboards and old pc for home rubbish collection people hopefully they'll take it all (not quite what I said I was going to put out but couldn't get to it all as it was blocked in by stuff they won't take).

Going to bible study this arvo so will pop in to tescos and pick up some veg and maybe some fresh bread for stew. DH is going to friends house of Friday to set up their new laptop and wireless stuff so he is going to bring her BM back for me...can't wait I'm really excited.

Need to plan next weeks meals early as I'm doing my shopping for next week online so that I can use a bonus point code if I don't sort it out soon I wont be able to get it delivered on Monday.

Just going to have another little surf about then I'm going to do my ironing and get rid of my ironing pile for about half an hour before I bring the stuff in from the line, no end in sight on the laundry basket front two are full and munchs is half full....maybe I'm being too optamistic (sp?) I should see the bin as half empty lol. :rotfl:

B - probably toast as I've run out of cereal...munch had cereal.
L - Sandwich of some description
D - HM Beef stew with mash and veg

Have a good day everyone.

funky fairy - sending my best wishes for your little nephew. It's horrible when it's really little babies/toddlers in hospital isn't it, but from what you said, he'sa big lad, and he shouldn't be there too long.

Haven't done much as yet. Had porridge and 2 cuppas. Bread has just been taken out to cool. DH is working late tonight, so just me for tea, so HM soup, a bag of pulses is soaking as we speak. I might even cook it early and just have a light evening meal.

going to have a bath soon, and then walk to the bank and pay in some cheques. Need to do some online stuff as well as i owe BIL for fixing my car, and i just got paid, so need to do a bit of swapping between accounts to stretch the money.

Just had a text from my friend saying she is having a baby. I hope i get pregnant soon, as i can see me being moody if i don't. My sister gave me a toy gym yesterday, so i've hid it under the bed so i'm not constantly thinking about it. DH thinks it will end up being a bit too baby-fied as me and friend both work in the same department, so that would be 1/4 of the department off at once. Plus his boss and wife are trying, and there are only the 2 of them in the office. The way i look at it is if me and DH had planned to do this, we shouldn't let the fact that others are also trying put us off.

going to try and catch up with the laundry again today. the clothes on the airer should be dry, so the battle can commence again.

    Have a good day everyone.

Quick question: when sending off for tesco deals how long does it usually take for the vouchers to arrive? I'm going to need to set myself a cut off point for trips and don't want vouchers to arrive after our week with the girls.

Tescos say allow 28 days, so far I've found that I get the tokens within 7-10 days but it may depend on if its a really busy time for them (schools holidays etc). It does say on the form that vouchers are valid for six months so if you have the points already you would be able order the vouchers earlier and them still be valid for when you use them. HTH :) ummmm cadburys world  :happyhear

  • Hiya Kittikins!!

Well done you, on getting a reduction because of the lids. At one time, I'd have just shrugged and decanted them when I got home - but these days, I'm straight off down to customer services, rolling my sleeves up on the way, just in case. :D

    Morning everyone,

FF - hope all is well with your nephew, sending our prayers xxx
Ronankfan - hope DS is better for your holiday, and your tooth too!!!!
    Welcome Kittikins xxx

Well, my day going ok so far, my leg and arm are still hurting after my fall on Tuesday, but not so bad that they are stopping me doing anything. Dont have enough dishes to put the DW on, or enough washing to put the WM on, but have got the BM on with some mummy bread, and will need to make a white loaf later as well!!!!
Have 2 little ones here, thinking we might make some muffins in a minute, they are my new favourite thing to cook (and eat!!!)
Well, thats it from me, hope everyone has a really good day, :grouphug: hugs to anyone who needs one,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Congratulations on the new baby - and hope he's doing well now he's got that extra help.

Not much going to get done today, I think! We're all still in our jim-jams, no dishes done, no WM on. Ooops! The boys are going swimming again this afternoon and I've promised to go early to pick them up so that I can watch how much DS has progressed, so that doesn't leave me much time for doing stuff while they're out.

Ah well .. I've found it is a good thing to pace yourself - and as I've been going like the clappers for the last week or so, a slow day would be a very good thing.

B : cereal & banana, followed by a slice of Speckly Bread toast.
L : some kind of sarnie made with Speckly Bread (h/m white bread with linseed & oats).
D : Katsu prawn curry made by DH.

  • Good morning everyone,
Day off work for me today hence the early post.
Hurt my knee again last night - so didn't go running this morning. Started studying at 8 this morning - just having a little break now, then back to it.

I have my chinese style chichen in the SC so i'll be having that for my tea tonight. I bought a large Haggis last month - i invited a few people over for Burns night - but no one could make it. I have finally got around to defrosing it and will be having some for lunch (it was 50% extra free - so i think i'll be having it for the next few days too)

Thants about it for my dayreally - back to the books :(

Hope you all have a good day

  • Well it looks like I need to be post earlier to be a proper old styler, but I just had to share my joy with you all - last night my extremely fussy and picky 2 year old son demolished a whole plate of my homemade meatballs, rice and sauce and carrots. After weeeks and weeks of turning his nose up at my food and only eating sausages and nuggets I feel we have finally reached a turning point!
This has got to be a good omen as my slowcooker from LX Direct is due to be delivered today. I work full time so have high expectations from this gadet I am hoping it will revolutionalise my life!
I'll let you know how my first concoction goes!

Washing is on line outside and second load of dishes about to go in dishwasher.

Copy of "New Scientist" with a few bits and bobs sent to daughter at uni in Newcastle. They had a deal where you got 12 copies for £12 so snapped it up.

Fruit cake has just come out of breadmaker (DD aged 16 's favourite)

Kippers for lunch for me and DH and leftover soup from yesterday's slow cooker meal for tea.

May make home made tortillas for DDs.

Lovely to see sunlight today as it makes us feel much bettter. Will cross fingers for funkyfairy's nephew.
