Hope I will be awake enough to do that stir-fry this evening - it would be a shame to see all those veggies in my fridge go to waste while they're still all nice and crisp. Does anyone know if celery works in stir fry?

    Rzl xx

Hi Rzl I put celery in stir fry a minute before the onion to give it a head start! Very nice too.
Sorry to hear so many people had disturbed nights particularly if you have a poorly child.
I have a day off work today so I'm getting stuck in to some housework. Upstairs is already done, washing done & drying & a casserole in the SC for dinner. I want to get everything done before Saturday because my sister & DH are coming for the weekend then the 'kids' & partners joining us for Sunday lunch. It'll be busy enough at the weekend without cleaning too. I'm really looking forward to it, me & sis don't see each other all that often & always have masses & masses to talk about We make each other laugh (especially after a bottle or 2 of wine) always a good basis for a relationship.
I'ts a lovely day here in Leicestershire so I think I'll go out for a bike ride later, we go on a cycling tour in the summer so it's time I started to get fitter for that.
Hope everyone has as good a day as I'm planning for myself.
  • morning everyone. It was sunny for half an hour but gone grey again. I think the weather affects people more than we realise. I took the dog out but my legs were dragging along. Yesterday was bright and sunny and I was bouncing and so was the thread

Food today is whatever I can find in the fridge

Will sort out my mini freezer later and make something or other, from carrots, potatoes and leeks left from my organic box last week. Probably soup

Might just admit defeat after that and read a book
  • Morning, all

Lovely day here too, so I shall walk down to Tescos in search of milk in a minute and hopefully get some washing out later. Dinner is in the slow cooker - an adaptation of a Sainsburys recipe - hopefully will work in the SC. A layer of partly cooked linguine, then cherry tomatoes (starting to go soft), then browned chicken thighs, then browned onion and bacon, then a layer of sliced potatoes and HM chicken stock over the top. I'm just hoping the pasta doesn't go too mushy - but I'm sure the dog'll eat whatever we don't.

Made pancakes this morning for brekkie due to visiting child - my kids were really happy. Lunch is leftover bacon, sausage and onion pie from last night with some salad (or value mushy peas depending on how I feel).

Busy day today - music lessons, swimming lessons and Cubs as well as collecting DH from the airport. Will definitely deserve some Lidl Australian Shiraz later - £2.99 and very good!

By the way - did anyone watch the "Anthea Turner - Perfect Housewife" last week - I can feel compulsive viewing coming on, if only for the comedy factor!!

  • Well, I'm more human now - only just :)

So, nicki - it's your DD I have to blame for shifting her earache over here at 1am :rotfl: Seriously, I hope it's gone - DS2 is still snuffly but no earache, so maybe it was just the pressure of being bunged up that affected his ear. We shall see tonight, I'm sure.

Ok, washing needs to be hung up. As I'm in town this afternoon doing 3 mystery shopping jobs so can't rush back if it rains again, it'll be the airer. It contains DS1's beaver uniform so will have to get that dried and ironed before tea. DW just needs the last bits putting in and will be switched on. SC will be going on soon with pork steaks in a tomato sauce. Will put a couple of sausages in there for DS2.

I sorted some drawers out in my bedroom last night and had piles of paperwork all sorted - file, recycle, shred. Then when I was out of the room, Mr TM came in and bundled it all up, so it's now in a big heap on the floor! Will have to look at that again tonight :(

Right, off to print my paperwork for this afternoon, then have a shower and hair wash. Have a good day everyone

Gave up on the going to work whilst sick thing and will just have to try to distract myself on here :D.

Nicki & TM, you can borrow Nasnowt to distract poorly little ones if you like? She has a cure-all, goes something like this

Right, gonna be brave and try to eat something .
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

  • Cheers Racy - but DS2 is absolutely terrified of dogs, as in screams, sobs and can't climb high enough :( I may take him to see my friend's Jack Russell pup - her 'soap on a rope' as she calls it :rotfl:

    Hello everyone,

Well, on the way to taking DS to football training last night, i slipped in my lovely brown boots (that now have slippery soles!!) and landed right on my behind!!!! Hurt my hand, wrist and right leg, mind you it was my pride that took the biggest bashing _pale_ , got into the car where DS and DD were most concerned that i had hurt myself, but i was only concerned with 'did anyone see me?' This morning my leg is still hurting, and my hand is a bit sore but apart from that im fine, think it mustve looked quite funny really!!!!
Today ive been quite busy, WM done and hung on the airer, been to Morrisons for weekly shop and thats all put away and ive cleaned the kitchen and im halfway through the bathroom, just need to wipe round and its done!!! Think i deserve to rest when the little ones have a sleep later!!!!
Nothing else planned for today, so hope everyone has a good day, take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi All

Very late today as I've become addicted to the MSE game! And I've been doing the occasional bit of work too!!!

Had to be naughty and go out an buy breakfast as I was sooooooo hungry this morning - didn't have dinner last night, just vast amounts of alcohol!

Got a very long day still, and got a battle with the boss to come
