Hello all!
Happy birthday to all those celebrating!
I was observed teaching a maths lesson this morning. Luckily, the bloke that observed me didn't think I was too awful and I'm not damaging children too much.I teach a "poorer" set of children - as they are set in the junior school where I work. It's so much easier to teach children who are of a similar level, but when none of them are the sharpest tools in the drawer it can get quite frustrating!
After school, I've got a course to attend about Child Protection. I don't imagine it'll be the nicest of courses, but it should be interesting if nothing else. With a couple of children that I teach being in care, it should be quite relevant.
That being the case, it'll just be a quick supper tonight of tuna napolitana pasta thing. Any left overs, I should be able to sneak into my lunch tomorrow! I need to set the WM on again when I get home. No rest for the wicked

Just back from today's site visits - called into Asda for a few essential bits on the way home & picked up a "whoopsie" chicken Burrito for lunch which is currently in the oven.
Yesterday I was at head office & the new girl in HR had made a fabulous looking chocolate cake & brought it in. Of course my first thought was "I wonder if she's an Old Styler?" but it's not the sort of thing I'd shout out in the middle of the office for fear of embarrassing the other person, who might not want everyone to know they enjoy rubber chicken & knitting!0 -
OH came back from Tescos and got some bargains. He bought, bread x 2, milk x 3, big block of cheddar(reduced), posh ham x 2, parsnips(reduced), new pots(reduced), normal spuds(reduced), butter x 3, crisps x 2 multipacks, apples, kiwis x 2, bananas, yogurts, carrots, diced lamb, sausages (reduced), swede (reduced), bleach, value lemonade, lamb stew sachet mix. PP-He sounds likes a good'un your dh. Would you mind lending out my way please? My dh could do with some MSE/OS being drillled into him. Hes got the hump with me as I've arranged for a lady to come to the house tonight to talk to me about possibly selling tupperware. Now we are moving to Leighton Buzzard and thats where the Tupperware HO is so to me it seems like a sensible and possibly profitable opportunity..........he thinks I'm being silly. Sod him. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OLD STYLERS CELEBRATING TODAY :beer:Bit of a crap day for me today, my group of girlfriends has had a big falling out and it seems that I have been the catalyst. I've been crying for 2 hours and my face looks like a sodding beetroot. I have managed to speak to everyone involved now though and things seem to hgave been straightened out. It has certainly taught me to keep my opinions to myself and my trap shut. I have a size 9 foot and the whole thing has been wedged into my gob lately! Is 4pm too early to be stuck into the vodka?
I have got 5 loads of clean/dry laundry to be ironed folded and out away. A cot and a wardrobe fully dismantled to be given to the neighbour. A bed for ds being delivered tonight and more boxes packed. Its starting to look a bit bare around here.
Going to head off and browse now, will drop in later,

Sure! Like a lot of my recipes for things, its not exact on quantities, but I'll do my best. Its a bread machine job, which makes 1 lb loaves, so I guess if you use whatever you use to portion out ingredients ordinarily for a BM, then you'd be okay. If I've got time, I'll weigh up the flour and pay more attention to the water quantity next time I put it together.
So, for one loaf, its :
1 cup warm water
1 cup Doves Farm Malty Grain flour
1 cup Strong White Bread flour
1 dessertspoon olive oil
2 dessertspoons of porridge oats
1 flat dessertspoon of linseed
1 5ml spoonful bread machine yeast
1 teaspoon runny honey.
First I put in the olive oil, then the honey, then the water (which helps to wash the honey off the spoon). Then sprinkle the yeast over the water and plop the flour in on top. Add the oats and the linseed - and into the machine it goes.
You can play with the oats/linseed mixture and swap it around for sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds - whatever takes your fancy! I imagine that if you reduce the olive oil a little bit, some chopped mixed nuts would make an interesting combination too!
Hope that is enough for you to be getting on with!:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

Evening everyone :hello:
Kiwi - it's deffo not too early for a drink. I should be sitting down to my tea, but I've just turned the oven off, left it and poured a glass of portIt's been one of those days!!
Cleaned mum's house top to bottom and sorted out a bathroom cabinet (see 'Feb - use up month' thread for details) Then took her shopping and to the doctors. I had lots to do too, but between mum saying "I'll only be 20 mins" etc and me rushing back only to sit there for another 15 mins each time - flippin' frustrating, so didn't manage to get back to the market for some bargains I'd seen whilst rushing through at 50 mph.
Got home in time to put donated frozen salmon in freezer, then back out to do school runs. Promised everyone I'd do lasagne for tea. Why oh why didn't I say - 'sorry, haven't had time' ? DW still needed unpacking and lots of stuff to be re-packed, however, in my 'wisdom', decided I'd get on with the tea and pack it after. My kitchen is the worst designed in the world, so I had all 4 hobs on, sink and drainer piled high (they are next to each other) so no workspace, decided to cook lasagne sheets first but they always stick together and I burnt my fingers trying to separate them. Then, after a good start, WW3 broke out with boys. And I mean true, lets kill each other WW3. I'm fed up of shouting, refereeing, telling off, threatening, sending to rooms etc. I want some absolute peace and quiet!!
So, the chaps have had their tea (very nice it was too) and I've put 2 veggie lasagnes in the oven for me, but TBH - a drink is needed more  I've had a bit of meaty lasagne and will have something in a bit.
However, got my first dvd from a free trial today, so may just lay on the bed and watch it tonight (Denzel Washington - Mmmmmmmmmmm  ) House looks like a bomb has gone off, but don't careTomorrow is another day and the hoover will work just as well then!
So, I'd also like to welcome simonkey and say thanks to Poshpaws for the recipe - I'd have been asking for the recipe if no-one else had done
Oh heck - DS1 is just starting another "one of those moments"! Best get it sorted nowAnyone any ideas how to make him accept that he can't win everything?
