Nationwide Flex Account

Nationwide are notorious for being a little bizarre.
How long have you had the account?
What alot of people have done to get a Visa debit is re-apply for a seperate Flex account on-line and then it states at the end of the application what you have been successful getting.
If you don't want to do that go into branch.0 -
I had the flex account (never had visa debit card) since 2001. I have tried to apply for new flex account online late last year but i declined it when it was offered a flex account with cash card.
I just don't understand the logic refusing to have a debit visa card. I was willing to transfer to nationwide as my main account, had no issues with credit history except for 1,2 and 3 late payments markers on one account settled 4 years ago. Otherwise it is spotless. Can i make an appeal to the head office in swindon for them to reconsider?0 -

I suspect it's the late payment markers, so I wouldn't bother appealing.
Different banks use different metrics for credit scoring. I managed to get a Nationwide Visa Debit card, but have been turned down for a Lloyds TSB credit card more than once.0 -
The 1,2 and 3 late payments was back in 2002, but account was settled 2 years after that in late 2004. Are credit agencies like Experian allowed to keep data that are over 6 years as they overlap with the settled accounts especially in repayment history?
For example in my case showing on experian is:
In the last 36 months of account activity, the number of status 1-2 is 2 and number of status 3 is 1. The late payments was in 2002. However this account has been settled late 2004.
Do i have a right to request data removed from 2002 as it is now past 6 years or because its a settled account, it "FROZE" the late payments, and stays with the settled account for 6 years even if there's a late payment 9 years ago?!0 -

Can anyone help here? i know experian on active accounts keep up to 36 months (3 years repayment history) and experian 48 months (4 years) but what about call credit?0 -
Apply again in branch, and when it declines, appeal. 9 times out of 10, you'll get it looked at by a human being and approved, as long as your willing to:
1) Get credit searched again
2) Willing to spend 20-30 mins in branch
Must have about 4 searches from Nationwide about the most basic things in the last 3 months. Really winds me up! :mad:I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

I dont want to keep asking but does anyone know whether CRA are obliged to keep late payments on settled accounts for more than 6 years? In theory it can be recorded for 9 years max if it is showing the 36 months repayment history (36 months).
My only late payments on credit file was back in 2002, and it has not been deleted as the account was settled in Dec 2004. Do i have to wait until Dec 2010 before it is deleted automatically? Or should the year 2002 be deleted on the settled account?0 -

Hi guys. I realise my question is not relevant to the thread here, so could anyone help me with the above question or show me to the relevant thread ? I tried to look for a thread about CRA's - repayments data, how long for etc etc but don't seem to find it.0
