Regard the £2 coins as a savings tax and flip them onto the top of a wardrobe to gather dust. Now and then, get the steps out to see how many you've saved and use them for a meal out if enough or fish and chips or take-away. They soon mount up!0

I have decided that I am going to take mine to the bank soon as once it is in my internet savings account it is harder to spend and I can keep check of how it is mounting up!The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0

highguyuk wrote:3. I personally think we should be saving in the bank, and my £2 will be going into my savings accounts eventually. If we get £4 per week, £16 per month thats £192 per year. 192 * 5% = 201.60 which equals £9.60 of interest you would be missing out on. (5% as an average rate, highest rate with ICICI is currently 5.25%. Not deducting tax).
well i have decided i will bank mine every two weeks or so in my car isa, i will still keep my total running in my signature though, then some coins can get back into the system0 -

I see three dilemmas facing the £2 Coin Savers Club:
1. Do we simply collect coins we happen to receive or go out of our way to get them?
2.Does the possibility of getting a £2 coin in your change become a justification for spending money that you ordinarily wouldn't?
3. Do we save in pots or the bank? If you saved a £2 coin per week how much interest would you lose by keeping in a pot rather than banking? Anyone care to do the maths?!
Good luck everyone!!
1.I am just collecting the coins that I happen to get - exchanging smaler change for them at banks etc spoils the fun in finding them.
2. No. That would defeat the purpose of moneysaving
3. I'm saving mine in a pot then banking it at the end of each month and keeping a total in my siggy

Note to self - ALWAYS put £2 coin in 'tigger' moneybox AS SOON as you get it - otherwise, you'll end up having to spend it!!!!!

I was given one in change today and felt great
Only to need change to pay my Aunt back a couple of hours later... I told her I was collecting them now and I think the answering grin as she took it was a hint that she does too!
My answers to the mini-poll are that I will let them come to me, except perhaps in those situations where the till assistant apologises for having no notes to put in your change - I often wonder why you then get £1 coins rather than £2 coins, so will ask for them then!
No I won't spend in the hope of a £2 coin - after all, I have to give those up
I think it's good to get them in the bank, so will probably bank at £20 (is that what the cashbags say for £2 coins?)Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0
