Jackie You enjoy your couch potato day they don't come along often
Rach - Welcome to the board you'll enjoy it here I'm sure. It is very addictive though!!
I'm going to be having a more relaxing afternoon than I'd planned as DD & DS1 have just gone out and won't be back in for dinner tonight. I'll do the leek & pot soup for dinner for myself, dh & ds2 instead of potato hotpot so I can sit down soon with the paper. We only 'treat' ourselves to a paper on a Saturday, usually The Telegraph as there's so many supplements to read that it keeps us going for two days. An OS habit from a non OS purchase :rotfl:
Going to put the wsashing to dry on the maidens now then a sandwich & a curl up with my blanket & the dog for the afternoon. My Mum & DS2 have gone to the pictures to see a film & dh is working so it's only me - whoo hoo :T Hope everyone is having an enjoyable day xx0 -

Afternoon all
Hugs to those in need & welcome to all the newbies.
Yesterday wasn't a great day at work, it started with me being sworn at by a staff member & ended with me being reported to the head for miscondunct & the 2 are completely unrelated, still onwards & upwards, as Scarlet says 'Tomorrow is another day'.
Lazy day for me today as I'm feeling a bit disheartened, but I'm going to DD1 with DD2 this evening along with a bunch of their friends, we are having a girly night, watching Sex & the City, eating pizza & icecream.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good afternoon all!
Bright and sunny here, but rather cold!
OS wise, nothing, absolutely nothing done so far! I shall be cooking, meal planning and hoovering, pot washing, loading wm and drying stuff, putting bm on, making yoghurt and visiting Somerfield for their bargains (always lots of YS stuff in the meat section).
So far today I have lazed around, eaten porridge, chatted to friends on the phone and messed around on Facebook! Told dd1 and dd2 off for using a word that isn't nice and that they keep using, both are now in their rooms, supposedly tidying! dd3 has gone swimming with her dad. ds has been to work and is now cooking lunch for him and his mate - regular little Gordon Ramsay (though he isn't using G's language!).
Going to reheat some of last night's curry for my lunch, need to eat some more as there really is no space in the freezer at all! Will attempt to remove a pork loin joint later for Sunday lunch and to create some space! If you don't hear from me again I shall be found digging my way in or out of the freezer in the garage lol!
Dinner tonight is planned, but I can't for the life of me remember what, think it might be toad in the hole, sure those sausages were bought for a purpose! So nice and easy in the moski! Will do it with mash and onion gravy and use up the leek and green beans in the fridge and some of the carrot mountain!
Have a good day all, hugs where needed, lunch and a surf now, I will get going eventually! xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Good Afternoon Everyone
Taplady - sorry to hear about your Mum's friend.
Have read the thread but cannot remember much - brain is mush today - woke up feeling urgh. Think its just this time of year - roll on summer.
House has been cleaned and nearly all washing is done, ironing pile is once again humoungus but may leave that till tomorrow. Just had a fry up for brunch.
Have chicken and gratin potatos for dinner tonight - am in the middle of writing next weeks menu plan and finding it a struggle - hopefully will get some inspiration in a minute.
Think will go and make a log fire - its freezing here today.

Hi everyone
OH and I made an effort today to try and get most of this weeks food from the local market and butchers
we spent £25 in butchers but got
6 lge chicken breasts
a pork joint for sunday dinner
8 sausages
2lb minced steak
2lb stewing steak
enough for at least 9 meals for 4 of us
the butcher told me he gets all his animals from local auction and makes his own sausages
I also spent £5 on veg from market for the week, including enough to make soup for my lunches for work
bread was also off the market
pate, cheese and yoghurts from local shop that sells organic/local produce
all I need from supermarket is tinned tuna for DD's lunches, cereal and milk
I felt really pleased, cheaper than supermarket and all local tooI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Afternoon all
Fell off the wagon a bit this week but am ready to jump right back on. We've been trying to exbf-proof dd(19)'s lifeSpent a couple of hours yesterday with a lovely lady attached to the police community safety unit or some such thing who was absolutely marvelous. I am heartened to see how much more help there is for her than when i was in a similar situation but disheartened that there's still such a need for it .... and that she's in the same situation. At least she's taking control now though. :T :T :T :T
Anyhoo - need to sit down and make lists - everything in the cupboards and freezer looks a bit random so i need to try and create order out of the chaos. oooh other dds have just gone out - think i'll put my feet up and watch a Lovely Mummy Film instead :beer:I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Afternoon Everyone
Its a chilled out Saturday here:D
I've spent the day catching up on my housework and baking.Made some blueberry crumble muffins with the 37p Asda Blueberries, also made 6 individual pineapple upside down cakes.I bought the tin from Lakeland in the sale and the finished cakes really are sweet:D.I used the scraps of the cake mix to make 6 rainbow buns.
WM has been on twice and needs to go on again.TD also been on twice.I tried pegging some washing on the line this morning but its too cold for it to dry.So I've put it on the airer in the Conservatory instead.
Its Italian Meatballs and Pasta for tea with some of the pineapple upside down cakes with custard for pud
PP-Glad you are feeling a little better.

Can't wait to hear from Bargainbird re little bubba
Have been to PO to collect a parcel, done some shopping at local shopping centre. It seems a lot quieter there since Christmas, credit crunch must be biting hard. Came home made some hobnobs done some ironing.
HM vege soup for lunch
Chicken kievs chips and peas for dinner then settling down to watch the footie.
Have just been on 'shop but don't drop' and a thread on there discussing how Tescos in particular are creeping up with their prices. Someone posted about how x, y and z had gone up and how it was getting more expensive to feed the cat, dog, birds and (get this) the fox  Now maybe they have taken in and domesticated one but if not, why would you want to feed a foxMy flabber has never been so ghasted
Have a good afternoon all0
