Today has been a really lazy, feeling sorry for myself day
We went into town this monrinng to get the butchers / fishmongers shopping that I needed and to post my dad birthday card. I could have done this from work yesterday for free but forgot to take it with me
I was quite surprised at how little my shopping came in at as I don't really take any notice usually, I'm frugal but I don't have a budget as such. This month I've meal planned to take me through to the 1st of March and my Aldi spend was £45, my butcher spend £28 and Fish £14. Unfortunately my (vastly superior in attitude) cat won't eat Aldi cat food so another £8 was spent on cat food from MrT; does he not know there's a credit crunch?. I'll probably need more eggs and fresh fruit and veg before the end of the month but this will be minimal.
OS wise my day hasn't been too bad. A no petrol day, we haven't had the heating on as the woodburner has been lit (fuel for which is no cost) so we can also use the camping kettle, and we're having a use-everything-up tea of Tuna, Olive & Feta cheese salad, with left over apple crumble for pud. Yum!
I need to bake something nice to take to my mums tomorrow and I want to make some cornish pasties with some puff pastry that was lurking at the back of the freezer and I've got dog food to cook, so my day is far from over yet. Now I'm wishing I'd got my bum into gear earlier on instead of spending a couple of hours reading the paper then sitting on here
We'll be out for most of tomorrow so I shan't get anything done then but nevermind; the dust will still be here when I've shuffled off this mortal coil!

Ivyleaf you might want to check my rant on yesterday's thread re my dishwasher problem
I've got it on as I speak so it's now working again thank goodness. It's the insurance company re the new floor I am having problems with now
Sitting watching the footie (it's half time!) and might watch Jonathan Ross that I Sky+ after it's finished. Then I will have the pleasure of emptying the DW of all my nice clean crockery and cutlery - it doesn't take alot to keep me happy
Have a good night all0 -
Chrisca - i did read your rant, and can well understand why you are so cross! No wonder I don't want DH to put the new laminate down until the DW is sorted (we've got very elderly vinyl in the kitchen atm!) I'm glad the new pump did the trick, at least.0

I read somewhere, probably on here, that if you leave the oven shelves outside on the grass overnight the dew will break down the black bits and you should be able to scrub them off in the morning, worth a try, and if not get the ammonia out
.
Taplady, I am so sorry to hear about your mums friend, xx
Halight, if you were a true lady you would be wipping up a batch of scones whilst having your facepack
Hugs to all the poorley ones, have good evenings all xx0 -

Katholicos - I'm so glad you got such a good result with the school, eventually, but really sorry for your poor DS. How miserable for him to have that condition, but great to know he has a Mum who will stand up for him. (((Hugs))) to you both.
Redruby - thanks for the tip re oven shelves!
Have a great evening everyone!
