I see this forum has not improved as far as locking you out if you type a longish post.

Morning all.................((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Went to Ikea yesterday and got the lamp I wanted, several other things found their way into my basket, including a reduced hurricane lamp!!!! OH was fine, he has not had a bad dizzy for 7 days now. He did have a slight one last night, but he sat in the chair and it went off. I was suprised there car park at Iea was stoating as usual, plenty of people looking but the queues at the checkout were short for Ikea....sure sign there is a recession on!!!

I spoke to the clinic yesterday, the consultant will review his results next Friday, so we should get an appointment shortly after. Its been a long 6 months, with my patience being sorely tried at times.

Its a cold frosty morning, the roof acroos the road is very white, and even though the heating is on there is a slight chill in the air.

I had got pork out for tonight but then changed my mind, we will have macoroni cheese with jacket spuds. I put the spuds in the micro for about 5 minutes then stick them in the remoska with the macoroni (in a dish) for the macoroni to re-heat and the spuds to crisp up.....cold weather comfort food.

Off for my second mug of coffee, shower and dress, then the Libray and Wilkinsons are my destinations for today, need to bulbs for the lamp, stupid forgot to pick them up in Ikea
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • Morning Guys!

Feel a little better than yesterday but not great....but wont moan.

I have a good friend coming for lunch today. She is a high graded signer for the deaf, so she is going to practice with OH as he has some more exams in 2 weeks. Should be good for him. Asked OH to pick up 6 fresh rolls from bakers for £1 and 4 doughnuts (sp) for £1....so will either do cheese or tuna rolls or soup...will let her decide when she arrives.

WM and DW have both been on. Have used the TD for the last few days as its easier. We got a Cold Weather Payment and have credited it to my G&E account, so hopefully it should be covered.

House clean and tidy. Toilet cleaned. have so many cleaning products thanks to OH yesterday.

    Hugs to all.

    (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((smokey/Twink))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Twink-Thanks for the card. Got it this morning. MSN is still playing up but will text later....so charge your phone:rolleyes:

Halight - you're just getting in touch with your feminine side!

Welcome to Rach - hope you like it here. I do!

PenPin - I'm so glad you're feeling a little better today.

Besides Bargainbird, R.Mac is also due very soon - let's hope we'll soon be congratulating them both.

Well, DH has just left for a morning's work - I have a few chores to do and then I'll walk up to the local shop for the paper. I don't buy it during the week now, because I get it emailed to me instead (for free, so saving 50p a day!), but I like the Saturday one.

I have some writing to do to earn some pennies so I hope to get a couple of hours to do that before DH comes home. He's making his now-famous Victoria Sponge this afternoon, apparently. Then we've decided to have a good look at our finances to see where we can chip a bit more off the outgoings -thinking of giving up Sky, maybe. I've already cancelled my gym membership because I wasn't going often enough - and I have the cardio ball to have a go with, instead. Well, we'll see how it goes. We're just taking precautions now in case DH's work slows down to a stop. He still has work for a couple of months (as long as it doesn't get cancelled, of course, as the recession the Government have finally owned up to, gets deeper), but is being really screwed down on price these days, plus most of it is at least an hour's drive away, so it's costing a fortune in diesel, too. It's a job to know what to do for the best.

Anyway, enough of that - we're one family in millions with the same problems. Thanks for all the good wishes for the grandchildren - it's a lovely day for a trip to the zoo, so I'm sure they'll enjoy it and the fresh cold air will do them good.

Well, I'd better get a wiggle on. See you all later.

welcome Rach its lovely on this board I think you will be happy here
  • Good morning to all!

Pen-Pin - sorry you're still feeling under par - fingers crossed for a bigger improvement as the day wears on.
Taplady - no wonder your Mum is upset, what a shock for her.
Rachbc a big OS welcome to you! :hello:
Betheebee Good luck with your long to do list today - you must be getting really excited about going now!
Halight I too have recorded the Cheap Food program for later watching....so am avoiding any mention of it!
I to was wondering about Bargainbird and her MSE baby. Fingers crossed!

Busy morning here so far - my Friend arrives in a while so MrEH has washed up, I have emptied the dishwasher, Wiped the condensation off the windows, cleaned the sink and swished the kitchen. Oh, and had a cuppa!
Going to get dressed (yes, I know, I KNOW!) now and then run the hoover right through...no, hang on, MrEH will be doing that! ;) and then I shall get going on making cakes. It's my friend's birthday next weekend so I'm going to make fairy cakes and ice them I think. WM was on late last night so the towels in there TD'd overnight.

It'll be lovely to see Vix - she lives down on the south coast so don't see her that often. We have a blast when we get together though! We're going to watch MrEH play rugby this afternoon I think - so long as it stays dry!

    Have a lovely day!

    Morning all,

Just typed out a message and lost it. Been really humid again today. Can't wait until summer is over. DGS staying tonight. His dad was to pick him up but had to work tomorrow. He's watching Fireman Sam atm, then off to bed. I won't be far behind. :D This heat makes you weary.

Just pottered around this morning, ironed, washed the floor & got a few things sorted for our holiday. Went for a swim with DGS and christened my new togs. :D Off to watch some tennis. Hope you all have a great day. Byeeeeeeeeeee

    bargainbird Hope all went well.
taplady That's awful. I can imagine your Mum being upset.
    Rach:wave:
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning all:wave:

Dd is arguing with Ds2:j she is better at last! Still pretty snotty though:rolleyes:

Am hoping to get out for a walk with Ds1 today some time.

I'm going to make some soup for lunch-probably coconut and orange veg (carrot, sweet potato) Must remember not to use up the half swede as will need it for tomorrow's Burn's Night meal;) I'm not a Scot but I am a Scott;) :D so we always celebrate and it is the 250th Burn's Night this year.

Supper tonight I'm not sure about. I'd intended to get some fish fillets out of the freezer and do a Chinese style stir-fry with beansprouts, but my beansprouts aren't long enough yet! I should save that meal for Monday when I think it is Chinese New Year -celebrate everything say I:j

So, we might have pizza tonight instead. Dd loves pizza so it might tempt her and I can use up some of the bottled artichokes I've had for a while, plus the olives and sun-dried tomatoes (that's for OH and me, the kids'll have tomato sauce and cheese).

I have some ground almonds that go past their best in Feb so I'm going to make a chocolate almond cake from an Elizabeth David recipe to have as dessert today and tomorrow. If that doesn't use them all up I'll freeze the rest;)

Hope all the poorly chaps feel brighter soon, and welcome to any new chaps:)
