    I just had a mini-Bootsing trip today.

One store only, but did quite well. Found a wrinklie in my basket - spent it on a Roc 12-week challenge kit on clearance at £7.34 (it contains 2x30ml retin-ox night cream), and 2 CW style control sprays at £1.10 each. Total to pay after wrinklies, £2.54 and the SA gave me another wrinklie :D .

Then I spent the £2 haircare bit of a wrinklie on 2 clearance TS straightening balm at £1.22 each (unfortunately this store doesn't have an ACM, so I wasn't able to get my hands on a TS 150 points voucher). First time I've seen TS on clearance around here though, so I'm hopeful of using those points vouchers yet!

Oh it really is a golf putting set!!! lol Just with the way you all use abreviations etc I thought it was some code word for something amazing as I have seen it mentioned here quite a lot.

What...on the lines of applying putty to your wrinkles as a beautifying treatment or something?????:rotfl:

Off to Cheshire Oaks tomorrow - anything I should be looking out for in the Boots there??
Went this morning, did get some Nivea DNage zone action @ £2 x 2 ( free with wrinklie )
Nivea DNage body @ £1.25 ( didn't go through with wrinklie as body but thought good buy as rrp is £10.xx)
Also got a couple of Olay face washes with wrinklies 86p each

They also had reduced Toni and guy shampoos @ £1.10 each ( only blonde ones) The clearance stand was getting further reduced when I was there, also had med body butters for £1.25.

:D Let me know if you got any bargains:D

Went to different store and got a couple more reduced King of shaves serums @ 22p each using voucher on first page

No reduced HE anywhere, still got old style bottles but with no reductions
All Radox full price ( did notice it is new packaging now though)
This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.

  • Hi I am new to this thread too and thought I would just pass this on in case it is of some help to someone.

I have just come back from a really small branch in Ringwood where they were justing putting out some "end of lines" on their clearance shelves and I was able to get:

Palmolive Thermal Spa Steam Shower gel 300ml 47p
Boots Camomile & Lemon balm creme bath 500ml 37p
Boots Essential energising bath spa 1L 25p
Boots Sea Kelp & Water Mint formaing bath essence 500 ml 19p
Boots essential kids pear hypoallergenci bubble bath 500ml 25p
Palmolive pure cashmere bath creme 500ml 25p

There was loads left as I only got one of each as I am running out of space!

There were lot's of other stuff as well like Boots mens body sprays 47p; Gillette shaving foam 47p and vitamins as well (too many to note).

Might be worth checking your local stores as well.
  • There was also some of those reduced lines in my boots today - Palmolive Thermal Spa bath foam at 49p, but I talked myself out of some of the shower stuff because my bathroom is already bursting at the seams

Unfortuantely, although my SA was lovely, she was getting so excited over the number of AC points i had and all the lovely things I could spend them on that she forgot to give me a new wrinklie

Perhaps this is a good thing.... going to take a little break from boots vouchers - well for a little while at least...
  • I gave my husband the putter set I got this morning from Boots to play with, to try and calm his nerves as Newcastle are playing football and England are playing rugby, very stressfull for him. He is thrilled with it, even though he plays golf left handed and the putter is right handed.

I wished I had kept it for Valentine's day now!

There are boxes and boxes of Christmas wrapping paper now with clearance stickers on at 25p. Picked up 2 and when I looked at my receipt afterwards I paid 12p for 2 rolls. :j

I can only think they went through as clearance and then the till took 75% off from the sale. Whatever the reason, I wasn't complaining. There are loads of rolls there.

    [snipped ...]

That happened on some keyrings in an Alliance store that were marked down to 50p but went through the till at 12p each, so probably worth having any Christmas clearance price-checked :)

Many thanks, and thank you to everyone else that answered.

I will definately have the camera by the end of the weekend!! and lots of shampoo and hair treatmenrs:T

    You are all angels:A

Sorry to quote myself, but wanted to let you know that my mission was successful.

I found 19 bottles of reduced HE earlier today so spent £13.87 on them and got 1900 pts. (edit - I posted this before I saw the posts re shampoogate. I did only buy the shampoo for the extra points, to get the camera, but my nieces use a bottle of shampoo a day between them, so after giving my sister some and keeping some in my house, they won't last long. Sorry to anyone in Lewisham who was looking for them today, I only left 5 on the shelf)

Then I went and bought the Kodak M1073 in red which was reduced from £195.82 to £75.82 and paid with points.

    I am very happy.

Hope you have all had good days today xx

    SPC4 No1066 - £948.95,
    SPC5 No1066 - £659.49 (2 stone 13lbs)
    SPC6 No1066 - Pot 1 - 3.03b. Pot 2 - 3.05lb Pot 3 - 3.0lb
  • Do you know, I can be feeling as miserable as sin, but as soon as I read half a dozen Grabbit pages, I'm laughing my socks off!!! :rotfl:

Regarding the Gingerbread houses, it was great - for £3 ish, but never worth the original £15. I got the usual 10% over 60s discount, as well as the 75%, so this was good value, and we had fun, especially as we wore our Krispy Kreme chef's hats! Remember when we got 3 free coffees each plus samples on the day of the 75% sale by saying "Yes we can!" - that seems like years ago. :j

I also generously gave both DGD and DD a Soap & Glory Hand Food, that each cost me 20p, using the voucher. Very good value!! :T

I took my pilling jumper back to M & S, together with my receipt for £9.50, and approached the till. The conversation went like this:

Me: Hallo, I'm sorry to trouble you but I bought this jumper just before Christmas, and as you can see, there seems to be excessive pilling.
    SA: You what?
Me: There's excessive pilling, like here (pointing to the bobbly front)
SA: Well that's what happens to jumpers
Me: I have many jumpers that don't have pilling
SA: (looking at me suspiciously) Have you worn it?
    Me: Yes, several times
SA: (looking even more suspicious) Have you washed it?
Me: (losing the will to live) Yes, after each time I've worn it
SA: I've never known anyone complain before (sniffs and looks at colleague)
Me: Well, there's always a first time, and what I would like you to do now please, is take my receipt, and give me a refund.
    SA: I can't do that
    Me: And why is that?
    SA: Cos you've worn it
Me: May I see the Manager please?
SA: Right, I'll give you a refund then, shall I? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Then I went to Boots! I took my smelly P & P lip cream to the No 7 lady, expecting to be there till June, told her it was making me feel sick, and she said "No probs, I'll give you a refund"!! ;)

I like that 3 for 2 bath stuff so much, that I bought 2 of those and the body cream. I paid £20, less £2 over 60s discount, gave her my 100 points voucher as well, and she said "shame our machines are Out of Order, cos I've been able to put 3 of these through at one time".

"I'm just like the Boy Scout motto" said I, hyperventilating, "Be Prepared!", and produced 2 more from my stash. So in Boots logic I got £28 worth of stuff for £15. :T

Every single GWP had 478 on it but when we stopped for coffee, I opened it and I discovered a voucher inside! :j :j The invitation that I was sent to buy stuff and get an extra free gift, entitled me to choose one from some tatty old GWPs from yesteryear, so I asked if I could have another current GWP please instead, and gave that to Dee, who was thrilled and gave me her 250 points voucher. So I got my stuff for £10! :T :j

We Soaped and Gloried round the 2 branches and got 3 Hand Foods each, and by that time I was shattered - first time I've been mobile all week, so we called it a day then.

But I've got a Pain In The Harris from sitting on the fence regarding Shampoogate. And I can't see why we can't discuss it on here, instead of going to The Arms, because it is not only Boots related, but similar things have happened, and will happen in the future.

I think I subscribe to the maxim "All Things In Moderation". I've got umpteen No 7 nail accessories that cost me, at the most, 50p each, from those Glory Glory Days of Pinkies and Blinkies. I feel pleased to be able to pop these in as an extra Birthday present, or, to give as cheer-up gifts. Should I have left them on the shelves and thrown my Blinkies and Pinkies away?

I'm answering "no", because I didn't get hundreds, but I did get about 20 over the course of the vouchers. Perhaps the lady who got so many bottles of shampoo will give them to refuges? She hasn't said that this is her intention, but if she had, would she have been flamed?

Nobody knows if I'm going to give my nail things or Olay GWPs as cheer-up presents, or have a car boot sale. But when peeps say this, or say they're giving their stuff to charity, or a women's refuge, I think "Oh, well that's OK then". Personally, I think she was innocently being a bit too honest, for this board, and not bragging.

I got flamed when I first did the R & M glitch in October, and posted that I'd taken the mirror back, and asked to swap it for something else, and the SA gave me a refund. I was accused of boasting, and went and crawled in the corner, and didn't post for ages - until I got numerous PMs from Seasoned Posters telling me this happened all the time, with peeps who'd done the same thing getting on their high horses!

I haven't seen any of the putting sets, Naked Men, or whatever they're called, or tuppeny ha'penny things that originally cost £35, but I've had loads of good deals, like today, and am more than satisfied with what I do get.

So for me, the moral of this story is, read your post through before you press the send button. ;)

And a zillion apologies that this is so long.
