Ref: Showergelshirley and all the HE/points? I remember another poster not long back announcing she was going to search her local area for 300+ bottles of HE so that her Hubby could buy a camera from the points rather than pay x2.5 the same amount in cash for it. And did she get one negative post about being greedy or gloating? No she did not. We all thought it was funny and applauded her ambition.

I think it's just sour grapes to complain about other shoppers getting in there first. If someone's prepared to put in the legwork and go out and find the deals then good on them. Anyone saying that it's okay for me not to care because SGS isn't doing this in my area? Correct, but the camera lady was. I don't remember her posting if she was sucessful, but I hope she managed it.

Bottom line is...if you want the deals, go out and get them. Don't expect them to be sitting on the shelves three days later. Anyway, next time you might be first at the shelf and are you really going to take less of a deal than you actually want/need because some other person you don't know from Adam might want some? I filled up the shampoo/conditioner drawer with 50 bottles of HE, which is 6/8 months supply for my crew. Yes I left some, but if I'd wanted another 50 bottles for the swimming club or whatever I'd have got them without a qualm.

    Thanks very much. :kisses3:

I did expect a little flaming to be honest, but thats just human nature I guess. Anyway, not gonna clog up the thread further as people have their opinions and I have no intention wasting my time trying to change their minds.

    'They only had one cow!'
  • Im a shopper in norwich and had a trip round on wednesday, would have been nice to know I didnt need to bother hunting around for deals that were cleared out the day before, but then ive bigger things in life to worry about !

I think the person who was talking about buying 300+ bottles wasnt flamed because it was an in theory post rather than Ive already done it, as you state valk_scot everyone aplauded her ambition. showergirlshirley almost wrote it in a such a manner than it was sticking her fingers up to the rest of us in her area (and there are now quite a few here) because she got there first. Ive never thought of it as a competition between us all before but that post made me think maybe it is and im just being niave !

clearing a shelf of items is one thing but an entire city ????

Well said :T ......it is just pure greed to buy that amount, and the people that are defending her must be doing the same judging by some of the comments posted.

Nobody (no matter how big their family) could use that amount of toiletries, so I expect that those of you that live near that area will probably find a good stock of all these items at your local Boot Sale this Sunday. That's if the OP isn't still out shopping to add to her hoard, depriving even more people of their fair share of a bargain.

As for the comment about "if you want a deal go out and find it", what chance has anybody got of doing this when people have phoned the store and asked for the 'deal' to be taken off the shelf until they get there. I dont know about not expecting things to be on the shelf 3 days after its been discovered......I think you would need to be psychic and see a deal 3 or 4 days in advance to be in with a chance of getting any if you were in this persons area!!!!!
  • Hi

For anyone in Musselburgh (just outside Edinburgh) Boots have Soltan sun tan lotion (factors 25, 30 and 50) for £1.50 (for 200ml bottle). Checked in another Boots store in Edinburgh and they have it too but its at £4.40 a bottle in the clearance......

    Hope this helps someone

I just had a lovely trip to London Colney boots! I haven't seen the Olay GWP in there at all so I asked a lovely Manager chap who hadn't seen any but offered to look in the store room. He came and found me with one in his hand! Hooray. Bought the Difinity scrub and used my winky (blinky, whatever you're all calling them now!). Also got a no7 massager for £9.50 and free GWP (just wishing I had tried it last weekend when I still had a blinky!) No more reduced HE. They did have some Model Me Tony&Guy shampoos for 60p and protection spray for 70p in the clearance section. Christmas sale stuff was still going through at 75% (the lovely manager checked for me) so I left that.
There's a skinny woman inside me screaming to be let out. A cookie soon shuts her up!!! :rotfl:

    !!
I'm not saying it's great for the rest of us, just that it's not morally wrong. I can't recall anyone else posting who seemed like they were doing the same - bit of wild speculation there. *shuts up for good now :D *
  • I got a putting set in Eldon Square early on this morning and there were 4 left behind the carboard cut out.

i have put enough leg work in i could have completed the london marathon a dozen times over.

all my local boots know me my local tesco know me, i know all the managers(90%) off them and as far as i know they don't have a problem with me.

i go in, if theres a bargain, i'll have it, in fact if theres a shelf full, i'll have em, if its something i use tremendous!! my oh is stocked up on gillette shaving gel/deo for the rest of the year.

i get all the toiletries for my nan, be it anything - instead of her buying everyone a 342 gift or the like, she makes up little boxes/showboxes of toiletries, she has 57 great grandchildren so yes if i put the legwork in and get some reduced stuff for her shes over the moon, i'm over the moon cos i get the blinkies/pinkie do's and points.

i ebay stuff if it is off no use, like my no7 new gwp as i won't use the lippy so i'm getting rid of the entire set as one and then get another.

another glitch/mistake will be just around the corner, we get these reductions several times through out the year as the products get rebranded, i do not drive, i have to rely on my OH and he has to put up with it :D

Somedays i love boots somedays i hate boots, same could be said about most shops though.

Bootsing is a wonderful thing and lets not spoil it by what is morally right or wrong i have been boosting for some 3+ years and i've not changed much :D:D enjoy it find the bargains and share the bargains when you see em.

Now so that it is not just my rant...............was trying to use some baby coupons today and they all beeped saying expired they are dated till april!! 4 times it took to get my nappies through today!!

Chelmsford high chelmer will be reducing all no7 stuff on the reduced stand to a quid this afternoon/tom morning, as they want to shift it and have already been credited for it by Head Office ;)
coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there
    (meaning under the buggy lol):D

Oh well done. I wish I'd got one weeks back when I spotted them in my local store....but I was tooooo scared, lol.

ps - if it makes you feel any better - the electricals were not included with the blinkie (although they were with the pinky) so it would'nt of worked x
