As for the comment about "if you want a deal go out and find it", what chance has anybody got of doing this when people have phoned the store and asked for the 'deal' to be taken off the shelf until they get there.

The blame has to be placed firmly at the Boots store that allowed it to happen imho. I'm certain that if I'd have rang my local store and asked for items that were considerably reduced, and had bonus points attached to them, to be put to one side for me and me only, they'd have quite rightly told me to get in the store like everyone else has to.
The Norwich Bootsers are armed with the knowledge now, so they know what steps to take. If anyone chooses to buy such an excessive amount of HE (or anything else for that matter) it's up to them if their store's allowing it, unfortunately. They can't be condemned for it, just as I don't expect anyone to condemn me for purchasing over 40 HE items, but in approximately 10 different stores over many days. My Bootsing friend, who uses the same stores and as often as I do, got 3 HEs, so am I luckier than her, or was she less fortunate than me? Swings and roundabouts, aided unfortunately, by a Boots SA in the OP's case.
What rankles me is that the poster posted what they did expecting to be flamed - which speaks volumes to me.
Maybe we should all ring our local stores during the 75% off sale and ask whether they'll hold a dozen No7 Travel Bags back, and see what their response is then?
And can we please give the eBayers a break? I don't sell but I'll often buy, and to refer to it as 'Fleabaying' is as disrespectful to me as a buyer as I'd imagine it is to those that sell. 'Nuff said from me.
As an afterthought, if any sellers have any of the Expert tins that were once a GWP, it might be an idea to list them now. There's an Alliance near me (that's waiting for the Boots change over) that are selling these at £4.88
(And fwiw, there was NO reduced HE in the East Riding last week in any main stores afaik)Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -

Hmm I've got a 150 pts on Umberto and a 300 points on a £35 total spend...
Wondering if I should just haul my tush back to Oxford Street?
That'll teach me to not be patient and wait for the kiosk BEFORE shopping!£100 Clothing Challenge #34 0/£100

ps - if it makes you feel any better - the electricals were not included with the blinkie (although they were with the pinky) so it would'nt of worked xThere's a skinny woman inside me screaming to be let out. A cookie soon shuts her up!!! :rotfl:0 -
Saw some of those Naked handwashes on clearance in White Rose, and lots of No7 stuff which they still have not gotten rid of. Nothing else on clearance at all, not a single Model Me either! Boohiss. Saw this woman pick up the last 2 L'Oreal Men Expert bag things that were on that BOGOHP offer, and thought oh well. I so wanted one, but good for her. Hope it makes someone happy.
Leeds had quite a lot of Model Me Erina's on their clearance shelf upstairs. I saw some for £1 and got a few with haircare blues, and then found a whole collection of them right at the back at 50p each, but couldn't be bothered with the hassle of taking them back etc. Also saw some ROC something or the other refill pack at £4.50, so this would be free with a skincare blue. They have changed the Gilette golf set offer, you only get it if you spend £10 or more. I don't think so!
Saw some Charles Worthington super shiny whatever it was for £1.10 each in Dewsbury along with lots of No7, suncare, and posh hair straigtening and curling implements.
Dad is fine by the way. Hope everyone has a good weekend and no one gets snowed it. Enjoy.0 -
Does anybody know why the Boots tills don't do Virgin top-ups now?
I have always topped up there!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
[quote=Mollydollydoodle;18546595Well said :T ......it is just pure greed to buy that amount, and the people that are defending her must be doing the same judging by some of the comments posted.
Nobody (no matter how big their family) could use that amount of toiletries, so I expect that those of you that live near that area will probably find a good stock of all these items at your local Boot Sale this Sunday. That's if the OP isn't still out shopping to add to her hoard, depriving even more people of their fair share of a bargain.
As for the comment about "if you want a deal go out and find it", what chance has anybody got of doing this when people have phoned the store and asked for the 'deal' to be taken off the shelf until they get there. I dont know about not expecting things to be on the shelf 3 days after its been discovered......I think you would need to be psychic and see a deal 3 or 4 days in advance to be in with a chance of getting any if you were in this persons area!!!!![/quote]
Doncha just love folk who join specifically /open a second account to put up this sort of post? At least I'm happy to post my opinions under my own name.Val.0
