I have about 4 stone to lose and am so stressed out about this enormous number. I think that if I chop it up into 1/2 chunks, it may be easier.
    Thanks! :D

    Welcome to the gang, Leo!

I think we all feel like that - the amount we need to lose is so overwhelming that we do nothing about it - or worse throw in the towel and go for broke :o

But by just focusing on that half stone, it becomes manageable.

And just think what a difference a few months challenges will make! :D

    Well said daisy!

I know how you feel Leo, I've at least 4 stone to lose too, but have always found that for every few pounds I lose (even 3 or 4) I feel much lighter and more energetic. So half a stone will be a great start!

Hi everyone! Here's to the new us :D

Can I join in officially for Feb please? :hello:
Did the challenge in Jan but lurked mainly. Like you Dragon, I have a huge amount to lose and if I look at it in half stones I may be able to do it!! (up to today I've lost 5lbs so here's hoping I made the 7 tomorrow:)

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I actually started running back in Oct to try to shift some of the weight. We run 3 mornings a week for 5k. At first I was putting a bit of weight on but I put that down to the fat turning to muscle. Then I was out for 3 weeks with an injury and then Christmas came etc etc....... you've heard all the excuses before...
Anyhoo, I'm running again and really enjoying it. I am not however losing any weight because I am a greedy guts who gets bored in the evenings and eats absolute carp all night and as much of it as possible! Any good work I do running is just cancelled out in about 10 mins munching!
My circumstances have recently changed and I dont know if I will be able to continue the running (with the current group anyway) because I wont be able to go at the same time as them and I can't really commit to a regular time because of dd. Sorry for waffling on but to get to the point, my aims are to try to cut out crap in the evenings and do 20 mins excercise a day.

Sounds like a good start Leo! Could you start by cutting the carp out 2 evenings a week and gradually build up? and well done on the running (can you still do any at all or will you be doing an exercise DVD or something?)

That's a good idea - cutting out rubbish 2 nights a week. That should be a bit more achievable. Thanks!
Other than that I have a Davina fitness dvd that I shall try to get out for 20 mins a night. At least when the brighter evenings come in, I can persaud dd to go out for a walk or cycle with me.

I'm the opposite - I dont snack too much (Not that I eat particularly well though!) but I love my sofa. So much so that I stick my lardy !!!! on it when I get in and it doesnt move again until I really have to until its time to go to bed.
