plzhelpmesave and tara747 - thanks for the congrats, I can only say that i have so much to loose (around 10st
!!) that is why i think it is coming off - dare i say it - easily and quickly. I have cut out (nearly!!) all chocolate, I have the slimfast chocolate bars at 99 cals when i'm in need of a choccy fix. I don't eat crisps very much now, maybe once a week, and also biscuits are out. I eat the go ones instead. I drink lots of volvic flavoured water whenever i can, and my main meal, although is what i would normally eat, is
smaller. I also try not to eat after 8pm.
The only exercise i do is the school run, but saying that i also have a very energetic 2 year old - who has me up in the night to, at least 3 or 4 times, so that helps, no sitting on my bum for me!
Keep up the good work everyone! xx:money::money::money::money:

I'm not so sure about food combining, I think it's based on the idea, that you can't digest more than one food type at a time, so you're making your body's job a lot easier, by isolating the type of food you're eating! But that's only really a vague idea I have at the back of my head - so you'd be much better looking up like you'd planned!
I think SW makes you lose weight, because it's really just a healthy eating plan. If you do something like WW (I think , I'm only going on what I've heard since I've never done it), you can still fill up on bad food - just as long as you count the points. Where SW more promotes making healthier choices all the time. You can still have your treats, but food which is bad for you, tends to be really high in "syns" (Which relates to the food's synergy!), so you wouldn't have as much of it!
There were a lot of things I was eating before which didn't really occur to me as being all that bad - things like packets of stir-fry sauce, or jars of pasta sauce or whatever! All things I ate quite regularly before, thinking I was doing good as long as it wasn't creamy! But in reality, they're actually full of crap most of the time, and it's so easy - and much cheaper to just make your own from scratch!

OMG
I feel awful. Have done loads of exercise this weekend - went to Go Ape (assault course in the trees) as "part 1" of my friends hen do. 3 hours of climbing & sliding down zip lines. Was brill fun and boy do my muscles ache
Then managed to fall off my nag. Got my foot caught in the stirrup and he dragged me on my ar8e around the show jump arena - to the horror of all the onlookers. Someone evetually caught him and extracted me. So on top of the muscle ache (see above) I have bruises & generally feeling a bit battered!
OH here's the MSE bit. OH caught the whole thing on video and is gonna send it to You've been framed!
I dont think I have been all that discplined with the food / wine though. and weight this morning shows I am still stuck at 12 stone 6.
Still could be worse - could be lying in hospital bed with hoof marks all over me! (How he missed standing on me I have no idea)=====================================

poshstock, you are doing so so well, all those healthy habits you have developed are working a treat!!
crapwithmoney, I totally agree about making stuff from scratch, so much cheaper and healthier. I like to know what's in my food!
SDH - blimey, you were very lucky!!! I hope you recover quickly, take it easy on yourself will you're fully better. (((hugs)))
marmalade - never mind the scales (this should be my mantra!), the jeans never lie! That is good news.
Charlie, I hope you enjoy your walk. The good news is that walking is weight-bearing so better for your bones than swimming - yay! It's funny, a friend of mine who wants to lose weight says that she'd only go swimming on her own. Her reason? She doesn't really like strangers seeing her in a cossie, but would hate her friends to see even more! Isn't it funny how everyone has their little quirks! p.s. nobody would laugh at you, they'd all be too busy thinking about their own lumps and bumps!!! xoxoGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Actually folks - I'm having a bit of a dilema. My sisters (long term) boyfriend is stopping with us tonight as he has a work meeting tomorrow near us (and they live practically on the other side of the country). Now if he stays with friends/relatives his work do a thing that pays for dinner (otherwise his work would have to pay hotel & food bill).
Anyway the upside is - i'm guessing we'll be having take-away tonight. Either chinese or indian. What can I have thats healthy?=====================================

Hi folks
Have just returned from the Spa - I usually go to loll in the sauna but did quite well today as I had some treatments (a huge treat for me and they were discounted:j ). On arrival, I had a Detox Smoothie (Strawberry, Orange n Pineapple), I said no to the choccie croissant. I had a glass of water after my pure indulgence therapy (back massage, neck & shoulder massage, scalp massage, arm massage, then facial again with massage), then I wandered into the thermal suite and sat outside in the hot tub - got a free foot massage in that, then it was out and into the sauna then I had some lunch. Lunch today was a bowl of homemade tomato and basil soup with small bread roll, drink was a glass of iced water (they had other stuff but water was what I wanted), then I indulged in some lemon cake and was good and declined the cream. I have drunk yet more water since and I feel on top of the world. I must be thinner because they haven't seen me at the Spa for a month and they commented on how thin I looked:j Mind you there is a side effect to drinking lots of water:rolleyes:0 -
SDH, something tomato based if it's Indian - or a tandoori chicken with no sauce. And naan bread is out! Chinese - maybe a chow mein or something? Boiled rice rather than fried etc. Someone else may know better though. HTH.
Horace, how often do you go to the spa normally, and how much does it cost? That is such a treat!
I walked for about half an hour at lunchtime and will have done 1.5 hours by the time I get home. I'll also walk to the DVD shop and back to return SATC so that's half an hour each way. Hopefully 2.5 hours' walking altogether! I will definitely be eating sweets/chocolate tonight as I am giving it all up for the next 6 weeks, but dinner will be a healthy veg stir fry.
I weighed myself after coming back from that LBT class last night, I weighed 59.3kg, probably because I was a bit dehydrated!! But it kinda strangely motivated me, I was thinking 'I could actually get below 60kg this month, dammit!' LOL
OK,
Here is my Lenten pledge: I hereby promise not to eat sweets, chocolate, biscuits, cake or crisps for the whole of Lent (except St Patrick's Day when it is allowed, LOL, seriously, ask any Irish person). I will not cheat, even when I am really hungry and desperately want something sweet. I will report to this thread and ask you to keep me in check and remind me why I am giving up evil addictive sugar! Hi all,
Had such a hectic week last week so I haven't been able to catch up with everyone's posts - sorry!!! Had my mum and brother down which involved having more food than I'd have liked, eating out, cinema nacos and apart from cycling to work, no other exercise  Went to see OH brother at the weekend though and managed to have no snacks and went for a nice long walk up and down some Welsh hills! Anyway, weigh in this morning and I haven't lost or gained anything which I am fairly pleased about considering how much I ate when my family were down!!
Finally opened the chocolates from Valentines day so am being a bit naughty and munching maltesers as I type. But hey, they are better for you than most chocolate as they have holes in..........right?!!!:rotfl:
Horace, that spa sounds fab. I'm so jealous!!!Latest Wins: Mr Motivator workout DVD, 5 Itunes downloads, Ipod Stereo Dock, Tea, Ipod Nano, True Crime DVD set, Family Pass to Legoland, Eye Pencil, Seeds, Anita Shreves novel, £150 ASOS vouchers, Miracle Gro starter kit :j0
