  • well done tara- wow with all that exercise you must have buns of steel!!!

gemsy- stick with it! im sure it will get easier. I tried the cambridge diet the other year and had the same problem! but a friend of mine lost 5 stone on it!!!
  • Hi everyone, hope that you are all keeping the momentum going!

Just checking in for this weeks weight loss - another 2lbs!!

Fell off the wagon a bit this weekend though - so don't know how i managed it!
Annoyed at myself though, cos wanted to loose 4lb to make it a stone in 4 weeks, and i might have made it - suppose i will never know now.

Oh well, done really well today, so hopefully will have a great loss next week.

Will check in next monday, and really jealous of you all who go to the gym and those of you who do workout dvd's - i can't even get to the swimming pool, but am going to try harder - watch this space!! xx

I did 45 minutes of Davina and feel so much better! Drinking water really helps. Although the first few days are awful, after that you have so much more energy

Tara - I bought two weeks supply, i've not tried the milkshakes yet and my boss is adamant that they are really nice so I'll have to try those tomorrow.

I only want to do it for 2 weeks then I'm going to either stay on low carb or go back to healthy eating. I'm going on an all inclusive to spain so it dependson whether I can keep the low carb up for that holiday or not!

Marmalade - 5 stone on the cambridge diet! Gosh, I can't think about losing 5 stone on celebrity slim, it's too restrictive. i've just done it to give me a kick start as i've reach a sticking point with my weight loss. Plus I need to fit in a dress by this weekend and first week losses are huge on CS!

marmalade - no buns of steel here! :rotfl: I live in hope though. I feel great after having such an active day, it sort of reminds me of the good old days when I was fit and slim. I've been reading lots of weight loss articles and they are really inspiring me.

poshstock - well done!!!!!!!! You are doing phenomenally well. :T

gemsy - 2 weeks is not so bad, I hope the shakes are nice and you can get through the week! :A

Goodnight all, and here's to a good day tomorrow. What's everyone giving up for Lent (if anything)? I'm doing chocolate, sweets, biccies and cake! If giving up sugary stuff doesn't shift the weight, nothing will! :D

  • :p Morning everyone! Gosh, this thread is getting busier and busier - great!

Dragon - hope you're feeling better hun and well on the way to full recovery.
Tara - i can see you poundng the streets now with your new ankle weights! You're soooooo my Mrs Motivator when it comes to excercise - keep it up
    girl:j
Poshstock - you're doing brilliantly!! How are you losing it? Keep it up and please share any secrets/tips!

Crap - thanks for the tips. Will do my best to follow them, been trying to have more water since yesterday - before, with, and after food so that may help! Have a brill holiday hun, hope you have a great time xx

Gemsy - It may taste nasty but if it does the job, its probably worth it for a couple of weeks. I still have some slimfast that i've never opened coz i didnt like the taste of it, but I may give it a go in a couple of weeks if i haven;t lost anything with Atkins! Gosh, i'm such a diet tart! probably why i don't lose weight!

Aytch - well done! sounds like you're on the right track so keep it up!

Horace - I'm the same! weight seems to be staying the same but i look and feel thinner - not a massive change but my belly bounces less when i run up the stairs and little things like that! It's your body so so long as you notice good changes - stick with it.

Rotheram lass - well done you on the loss! i'm so jealous :p but so :D happy for you!

Me.... well i was very good overall yesterday. Spent some time reading up on Atkins so i could commit to it a bit more rather than just doing low carbs - didn't realise how many carbs are in everything! Did 10 mins on the Orbitrek, 30 on the Wii free step and had planned swimming but my sister couldn't babysit so had to cancel - hence the wii instead! Ate well yesterday, so try and keep it up for this week and see how i go.

It's amazing how much time i spend thinking aout food - what to eat, what not to eat, what to feed the kids, whether i eat the same......am gonna try to just thing about food when its meal time. Keep meaning to get some green tea too, supposed to be good for helping with cleaning you out!
  • Morning all!!

How's everyone feeling today? I had my last weigh in of the month this morning = 10 stone 3lbs!! Not quite the half stone I was aiming for, but that's 8lbs I've lost since the 5th of Jan - so I'm not gonna complain too much! :D If i lose, and maintain, 4lbs loss every month from now 'til July - that'll be just dandy for me!! (Although, I will still WI this afternoon after my "cleansing" just to see if it's had any (temporary) effect! ;) )

Plzhelpmesave thaks very much, I'm sure I'll have a great time! :D Just gonna check the weather forecast when I've done this to get me in the mood! Good luck with the water drinking, it really does make a difference I think! Plus all the extra calories burnt off running back and forth to the loo can't be a bad thing either! ;) BTW what is an Orbitrek?

Tara Oooohhh, is that a bandwagon?! Give us a lift!! ;) Methinks chocolate/crisps/biccies/general crap will be just what I (attempt) to give up for lent too!! Well done on the gym!! :T Fingers crossed you'll have a good combo day today!!

Gemsy good luck with CS - I hope the first couple of weeks aren't too painful, suppose at least it's only short-term, and if it helps you fit into that dress - well - needs must!

Poshstock Well done on another great loss!! :T :A You'll need to share your tips, and let us all know how you're managing it! 12lbs in a month is not to be sneezed at!!

Dragon How you feeling today? You getting any better?

Aycth You're right - they're a great little bunch really! If coming on here doesn't motivate you, nothing will! ;) Welcome to the gang!!

Catch up with you all later on! I finish up at mid-day today, so I've a bit to be getting on with before then! :D

    xx

    Morning!

I am feeling it this morning, that LBT class was harder than I thought!!!

I weighed in at 61.7kg this morning, still heavier than on 1 Feb - but I tried on a pair of work trousers that I haven't worn in a few months and they were a little loose! Before, they were tight as !!!! So I must be losing a few cm somewhere... :D

Food so far today - yogurt and a boiled egg. I am probably going to eat quite a lot of chocolate today in preparation for Lent starting tomorrow, so I will try to make my meals smaller to compensate. No gym today, but I am going to do at least two hours' walking.

plzhelpmesave - I won't be wearing the ankle weights for running, just walking!! :rotfl: Where did you read up on Atkins? I would love to try it, but just couldn't give up all carbs forever. I'd rather cut right down on starchy carbs, omit refined carbs and still eat good carbs (low GI basically). Good luck with it and let us know how you get on! Well done on the eating and exercise yesterday. :T

crapwithmoney, well done!!! 8lbs since 1 January is excellent! I am really pleased for you. Let us know your weight this afternoon and enjoy Egypt! ;)

p.s. What does everyone think of food combining e.g. not eating protein and carbs at the same meal/on the same day? Is this along the lines of SW's red and green days? I would be very keen to give it a go.

  • Tara, yeah it is similar to how SW works. I don't think SW is quite as harsh though, in that you can still have a small amount of meat if you're having a carby day, or vice versa!

I think it sounds quite complicated at the beginning to get your head round, but I find it quite easy now that I understand the ins and outs of it!

It's the first formal diet plan I've followed, since to be honest I was dead against them before! But since it's not really very restrictive, and you never go hungry - I'd recommend it to anyone!

In total I've lost 1.5 stones in the last 8 months on it - you could probably lose more, and more quickly to be honest, but I tend to do it in fits and bursts - like in December I stopped altogether, and put on 6 lbs - so have now been working at shifting it again! Plus a little more! ;)

Thanks for the explanation, I like the sound of it - it sounds very doable. How does it make you lose weight though? I must read up on food combining theory a little more...
