coffeeholic wrote: »Crapwithmoney - My OH had a series of colonic irrigations last year, and said it was a very bizarre feeling having it done but he felt tons better afterwards. He had probs with bloating (caused by him shovelling food in so fast it doesn't touch the sides!!) and it worked for a few weeks, he looked brill but he's sadly gone back to his old ways.
I had my own form of colonic irrigation when I went to Egypt on my hols, caused by eating way too much fruit which had been washed that I hadn't peeled. Ended up losing half a stone and spending my last week on the loo, very memorable holiday for all the wrong reasons :rotfl:
:rotfl: at your OH shovelling in the food! Tee hee!! Mine's exactly the same - still built like a bean pole though - but then, he goes out for a gentle jog, having done nothing in months, and runs for 8 miles?!
I've just booked myself in! They took a £30 deposit - so there's no going back now!! It's £65 in total tomorrow, but if I book a course tomorrow, I'll get 4 for £210, which isn't really much of a saving imho!!
Bit nervous now - wish I wasn't quite so impulsive sometimes! :rotfl: I'll maybe get a second one done the following Thursday if it goes ok, which is the day after I get back, so if I do over indulge in anything, at least it'll take away the damage! :rotfl:
I'll report back tomorrow, and let you all know just how much weight it does drop instantly!!

Happy Monday Everyone!!!!!!!!
Right the final week of the challenge is here.
LETS TO IT!!!!!!!!
I have been reading the posts at least 2 times a day and they have really kept me going. THANK YOU!
I must admit I have only really applied myself to the dieting thing over the past couple of weeks- for those who are just joining it gets easier. I had really bad sugar cravings at the start but they had finally started to dissapear! yipee. I was also getting head aches for some reason - i have started drinking more water which help, and strangely excercise seems to help also (although I havent done any for a few days now- will this evening!!)
My key tips for this week are - soup, stirfry, walking with leg weights (tara- yes they strap to your ankles with velcro) sugar free jelly, this forum, going out with friends to the pub and drinking soda and blackcurrent (30p a glass) and only weigh yourself once a week (i have started doing it everyday and i find it demotivates me!)
oooo and one more thing buy a pair of jeans too small - I have a pair hanging in wardrobe that I planning on trying on at the end of the month.
Well heres to a good week everyone.
What a lovely forum - everyone is so supportive!!!

Good underwear makes you feel good!! haha0 -
crapwithmoney, I am so jealous of you going to Egypt!!! Your weekend eating actually didn't sound too bad, AND you went swimming! :T Can't believe you've never been to Primark before, oh you have been missing out! :rotfl:Let us know how you get on with the colonic, I would like to try it sometime.
plzhelpmesave - I have done a couple of charity walks (and runs! ah the good ol' days), but thanks for the reminder, I must check that out.
coffeeholic - boo to those 2lbs and the cold!! Never mind, I'm sure they will come off again! :A and:rotfl: at your accidental colonic story! At least it was free! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
marmalade555 - thanks for the tips, I will follow them religiously, especially the sugar free jelly one. I already have a whole wardrobe of clothes that are too small for me :rotfl: so I'm way ahead of you there!! Where can I get cheap leg weights?

I have come to the conclusion that my bathroom scales tell lies:rolleyes: According to the scales today I weigh 2lbs short of 13 stone:eek: which can't be right at all because I have been eating fairly healthily, getting plenty of exercise and my clothes are becoming looser:j
I even put on a pair of jeans purchased in Spain over the weekend - they are a 50cm waist:eek: and previously I put them on and couldnt do them up although my chap who is considerably fatter than myself could do them up without a problem (they're his jeans). When I tried them on over the weekend, I could do them up without a problem which signals to me that my waist is thinner - it even looks thinner when I look in the mirror.
Dinner yesterday: beef in guiness with a thick slice of granary bread
Breakfast: 3 thin pancakes with lemon juice (no sugar:j )
Mid morning snack - a handful of white grapes
Lunch: thin cup a soup
Dinner: turkey escalope with 10 oven chips, peas and either gravy or a squirt of tomato sauce.0 -
Good Afternoon Everyone,
It's really nice to hear everyone's stories and know I'm not alone in the "being naughty" ! Just had a chicken curry for lunch, whoops but it was yummy.
I've yet to weigh myself actually, may do so tomorrow but am afraid to cos I'm sure I'm yet to shift anything. Haven't exercised since last Wed but I WILL GO TO THE GYM either tonight or tomorrow! Problem is I'm too tired after work and way to rubbish in the mornings - no excuse I know. Once I'm there it's not so bad but I was meant to be running for 45 mins non-stop by now and I can barely manage 25 mins!
crap with money - give it a good last min push and most importantly of all, enjoy your holiday :j.
tara - how an earth do you fit in so much walking every day? me is impressed!
coffeholic - don't get down about the 2lbs, just get even
marmalade - great tips especially the underwear one! god knows i need something to make me feel better!
hugs,
ntl

Realistic aim: 132 lbs (9st 6lbs / 60kgs) :mad:0 -
crapwithmoney, I am so jealous of you going to Egypt!!! Your weekend eating actually didn't sound too bad, AND you went swimming! :T Can't believe you've never been to Primark before, oh you have been missing out! :rotfl:Let us know how you get on with the colonic, I would like to try it sometime.
Yeah it was pretty bad! I'd guesstimate I've put on about 3lbs - and I feel totally bloated!Great how it can take you 2/3 weeks to lose 2/3lbs, but only 2/3 days to put it back on!
Isn't the body just wonderful?!
Plus, I only managed 20 lengths of the pool yesterday, which isn't very much, although I am still quite pleased, as I think my technique is getting a bit better, and I'm getting a bit more confidence in the water! :T
Marmalade, how much do the leg weights actually weigh? Would you be able to wear them all day? Like even if you were just at work or whatever? (provided you weren't wearing a skirt obviously!
Horace Don't worry too much about what the scales say - if you feel thinner, and clothes are fitting better - that's far more important! You're obviously doing something right!! :A0
