gemsy, I didn't realise that about the fat measurement, that's mad! I may as well just get ordinary scales then, was thinking of returning these. I'm relying on the scales and my measurements as well.

Good luck with the CS! Let us know how you get on.

I have eaten quite badly for the rest of today, I bought 2 jars of Nutella (on offer for £2.50). Even as I was buying them I thought 'what are you doing?' but I did anyway. I have had some on a slice of bread and skipped dinner as I felt a little ill and stuffed. Now I just feel annoyed at myself. I am never going to lose weight if I eat this junk. :(

  • Tara - don't be so hard on yourself! There's no point just changing the way eat just for a short period of time in order to lose weight, and being overly strict with yourself during that time. It's far better in the longer term, to eat well 90% of the time, and still allow yourself some goodies as and when you want them! You might not lose the weight quite so quickly, but you'll still get there eventually, and it'll be much more maintainable when you do!

(BTW - it was me who was poss planning the last min hol ;) Looking more likely since we have a dog sitter, just need my sis to arrange to have my nephew collected from school on the 3 days my mum usually gets him - and we'll be off!! Whoo hoo!! Wedding is in July, so still a bit of time yet, but as of the 7th of March I'll be working 7 days/week, so won't have any weekends after that to go shopping with her - fingers crossed we'll see something this weekend!)

Gemsy, good luck with the CS - hope it doesn't leave you too hungry!!

SDH - sorry you're having such a rotten week, that's awful news for your OH, but fingers crossed he'll get something else soon!! And well done on losing what you'd put on!! I know you've not lost overall, but at least you've pulled back the damage you did last week!! :T Hope your mum feels better soon, I've often wondered why I'm never lucky enough to come down with a dose of food poisoning! :D Come to think of it, a colonic irrigation would prob have the same effect - I'm just not sure I'm that keen!! :p

I'm doing ok diet-wise this week, but the exercise just happening! :o I'm shattered from the minute I wake up every morning, and just have no energy left by the end of the day.

crapwithmoney, sorry I got you mixed up with plzhelpmesave! :o I know what you say is true, I just hope I can resist eating the whole jar in the space of 3 days (I have done so before). I've just had an apple and I'm not eating again for the rest of the evening. Apples are really quite filling, aren't they? I think it's the pectin or something, but I read that they are good for filling you up and releasing energy slowly. Apparently bananas and grapes are shockingly bad for your blood sugar! That's what I'm going to focus on, keeping my blood sugar on an even keel. Hopefully!

Good luck with the holiday, dog sitting and all. Any idea why you're feeling so tired? Have youy been doing/eating anything different? Eek @ working 7 days a week!!!!!!

  • This may sound ridiculous, but I'm wondering if it's maybe my eyes! I haven't had them tested in at least 10 years, but recently I've been getting a lot of headaches/feeling a bit queezy if I'm on the computer too long, so I was wondering if I'm maybe needing glasses!? Don't know if that would be likely to make me tired, but apart from that I feel fine, so if it's not that, I guees it's maybe just the winter blues!! (which should be promptly put to rights next week, provided we get our wee impromptu trip to Egypt! ;) )

I'm going to the opticians on Saturday anyway, so I'll ask him/her then! :D

    xx

PS yeah Apples are meant to be great for slow release of energy throughout the day! Always good to have one in the morning to wake you up I heard somewhere?!

Oh, and a jar over 3 days is nowt - I'm sure I'd easily manage it in a night - I can't keep anything like that in the house, because I'd just eat it - I dread the day I ever move in with OH, he actually has a full cupboard set aside just for biscuits!! And he's skinny as a rake!! :rotfl:

A whole biscuit cupboard, OMG! I can't have anything like that near me. I'm only posting here to stay away from the Nutella, please don't let me go near it again...

Defo get your eyes tested, it is long overdue! xo

  • Evening girls!

Tara - wish it was me going on holiday!! Crap - have you got room for one more ... pretty please!

Went bowling today with DH and kids and then went for food afterwards. I was very good, talked them out of Pizza Hut (even though i had the £10 off voucher!) and went for chicken instead - had to keep away from the carbs. Feeling a bit bloated now though. and feeling bad that i still haven't done much excercise this week. Knew it would be tougher with the kids at home, but have been in and out with them so had no regular routine, e.g. my morning tv time on the stepper, early evening Wii...so may just hold my hands up this week and get back into my routine next monday! If i do get to do it, then it;s a bonus!

Crap - you're right about the Atkins! didn't think about that being the cause of my lack of energy! Have to say though when i'm thinking about not eating carbs, i.e. thinking about what i can what i can eat instead - it really has made me think about what i am eating and so i'm eating a lot less.
Had 3 boiled eggs for brekkie, large pot of yogurt for lunch (didn't realise dairy has so much carbs in it...ooops!), 2 cups of tea and 3 pieces of chicken for dinner, although i did nibble a few of Dh's fries - would normally have had my own portion!

I would normally have all sorts of snacks in between,e.g. biscuits, chocolate, flapjacks etc so it's really good to know i've cut out the rubbish to such an extent.

Gonna have some Options Hot Chocolate before bed - thanks for the tip!! and g'nite all xx

Goodnight. Interesting thoughts on the Atkins, I guess it's not so easy to just 'grab' stuff to snack on.

I forgot to get the Options earlier in the shop, probably when I saw the Nutella offer. :(

    Good morning!!!

I weighed in this morning at 61.3kg!!! That means I have lost a whole half pound! :j :j

lol I know it's daft to get excited about this, but I'm hoping it's the start of a trend! I'm having scrambled egg for breakfast so will see if I last till lunchtime without snacking. I have the gym today as well, I so don't feel like it but my leg feels a lot better so I'm going.

    Here's to a good day!
