  • tara - another dress size down and i can get back into my pre preg size 10 wardrobe lol. Im going to be realistic though, with my on and off the waggon it took me 6 months to get this far! So I imagine it will take me until mid summer to be back into them.

dragon feel better soon, glandular feever is no fun :(

had a naughty today, happy with my lunch and dinner... but i did have an animal bar and a bun from my friends birthday (it was sooo tasty though!). So back on the exercise dvd road tomorrow to burn off that bun!

Poor Dragon - I hope you feel much better soon. Good news on the job front for hubby tho.
I've done really well food wise today - porridge with skimmed milk for brekkie, apple for lunch (I know, I meant to eat more but I had a meeting and kind of forgot/didn't have time  ) then homemade lentil soup with wholemeal roll. Only about 900 calories in all which is not really enough and in fact I'm straving now!! Going to bed in a mo so that'll shut the belly up until the morning.
One of my running friends wants to do a weekly weigh in with me - starting tomorrow - she calls it ww - weigh Wednesday. We are going to put in £1 a week each and after 10 weeks the person with the most weight loss takes the pot. Am looking forward to it. Therefore, I am changing my weigh in day from Mondays to Wednesdays - if I've lost anything more, I shall tell you in the morning.
Well done to all who are fitting into clothes in the wardrobe. That is my aim too. As I grew bigger I refused to spend proper money on clothes and have a nice warerobe full of size 12 clothes hanging there waiting to be worn.
I think you can feel it in yourself if your body swhape is changing - no matter what the scales are telling you. Keep up the good work everyone - and remember ANY loss is still a loss. :D
  • brushing your teeth after dinner - oooo im going to try this. Cant do it at work but im going to try it out in the evenings - this is when I get the munchies Well done lilmissemmylou - wow a whole dress size thats what im aiming for. If only I was on tarted with the challenge I would be half way there. I think it would only be 7pounds to lose. OH well 1 and a half down 5.5 to go. Actually that doesnt sound too bad!!

food update - did really well yesterday because I was busy and didnt have too much time to think about food then went for a walk for 45mins. Thinking bout getting a pedometer although worried I will use it once and then stick it into the draw.

Going out for dinner on friday - this could be my downfall!!!

marmalade555 - pedometers are addictive!!! I don't remember to wear mine every day but I love it very much. Do you know where you're going for dinner and can you check out the menu in advance to see if there's anything not too fattening? Anyway, dinner out is always a nice treat so don't beat yourself up if you do indulge, just be good the rest of the week (listen to me, if only I practised what I preach).

Leothecat - what an EXCELLENT idea! The thought of winning £10 off my friend would definitely make me think twice about nibbling/snacking! Great idea and we are all cheering you on.:j

I weighed in at 61.6kg this morning with 25.3% body fat. I know I'm still 0.1kg heavier than on 1 Feb, but with the exercise I've been doing my body does feel a little different. My waist is now 28.5 inches, which is 3/4 of an inch off! Everything else is the same. It's given me a boost anyway! I'm soooo happy that I didn't succumb to the chocolate craving last night and determined to be good today again.
p.s. Dragon - forgot to say well done to Dr Dragon on the new job!!

  • Morning all! is it really wednesday already - ooooh getting closer to the end of the month!

Dragon - on Mr D's new job and :( on the glandular fever - hope it goes away quickly! on a positive note - does it put you off eating?? You may be able to drop a few lbs if it does!!

Tara - well done on saying no to chocolate last night!! I wanted some last nite sooo badly with a glass of milk, but in the end had just half a glass of milk. Might start using your teeth brushing idea - sounds good. I've also cut out my nightly cup of tea which usually ends up with a snack and cup of tea. Actually just remembered, shared a small bag of Cadbury animal biscuits with my son oooops!

Marmalade - got a pedometer in my handbag - been there for about 2 weeks coz i keep forgetting to use it! they are supposed to be good motivators though, so will get it out any day now!

I'm still doing Atkins and can't really see much of a difference yet. Saw my sister on monday and will try not to see her again until Friday when we are going out, so she will be able to tell if there is a visible difference or not!

Having boiled eggs for brekkie in a minute, leftover kebabs with cheese and salad for lunch and salmon and vegetables for dinner. Didn't do any excercise yesterday, was too knackered to open Coleen and going to work at 11 so will see if i can do it this evening!

Low carb is very difficult for me at the moment, especially as I always have breakfast at work. It's easier to just have oatcakes, yogurt, wholemeal bread etc. :(

  • if anyone lives in liverpool, sign up to their weight loss challenge and you get a free pedometer :) I've not used mine yet though doh.

marmalade, if u can't brush your teeth, nice minty chewing gum has the same effect, makes any other food or drink taste gross lol. also if ur not down a size after 7lbs dont worry. I lost about 10 or 11 to go down a dress size on top, only now that im 15lbs down starting to fit smaller trousers, but it will take a few more lbs until i can comfortably fit any size 12 trousers iykwim. So in total i guess it will take me 21lb ish to have gone done a dress size all over. But you may be a lot closer to fitting the smaller size than i was - but i just didnt want you to feel disheartened if it didnt happen right away x

  • Tara / Plzhelpmesave - For night-time choccie cravings, have you tried Options Hot Chocolate? If you make it with milk it's nice and filling too - and hardly any calories! :D

Plzhelpmesave - If you're doing atkins it's no wonder you're tired! You might find that for the 7-10 days that you don't really have much energy, and also probably that you'll get smelly breath - so the chewing gum might be an idea! ;)

Lilmissemmylou - I can't belive you had to lose that much to get down a dress size - you did well to perservere!! :T

Tara - I try to minimise the carbs I eat too, just because they don't seem to agree with me, but brekkie was always a hard one - since toast or cereal was pretty much my staple diet - I seem to have settled for a banana and a yoghurt every day though! I'm sure I'll get bored of that eventually, but at least it's quick, and I can grab it on the way out the door and eat it in work if I've not time in the morning!

I bought a pedometer a few weeks back too, I'd planned on targetting myself at 2000 steps per day, on top of any other exercise - but the fad lasted a day!! ;) It was only £2 though, so I won't lose any sleep over it!!

    xx

Oooh, I haven't had those Options chocolate drinks in years! I must try that. Thanks, crapwithmoney!

I'm not sure a banana and a yog would keep me going till lunchtime! :D But I will try to think of more imaginative breakfasts...
