Half a stone or Fight the Flab in Feb challenge!

Dear All,
I've been reading this thread for a few days now and have finally plucked up the courage to ask if I can join in? I realise it's already half way through Feb but I need to start now as I want to lose as much of the extra 11kgs (24.2 lbs, whoops!) I've gained over the last few years as I can.
Preferably by my birthday in March so nothing too unrealisitic there then ;-)
I'll aim to lose 4lbs by the end of Feb which I think should be possible as I'm going to eat better and actually go to the gym, rather than just think I should.....
Your stories of weight loss and also I think, no weight gain, are very inspiring so I'll try to post regularly and check on you all, as I hope you will on me.
Thanks,
NTL

Not long to go Sarah before our weigh in! Don't think ive lost much weight this week though - according to my sneaky peek on the scales! But i do look a bit thinner so am gonna measure myself too.
Tara - take it easy hun, you need to get that leg well before you start pounding the gym again.
c l a i r e - well done girl! What are you doing to lose it?? hope you lose what you want this week too.
Poshstock - isn't it a long weeeeek when it's half term?? I keep planning to talk the kids to school to get my excercise in - would be a 40-50 minute round trip in the mornings - but i take a friends 2 kids every other week so the thought of dragging 5 kids through the streets keeps me in the car! Might give it a go once a week though... makes me sound reallazy doesn't it!
Am gona nip into Asda tomorrow and get Coleen Blooming Nolan DVD - desparate for it and wanna get "in the mood for dancing" so may as well let the kids dance with me for an hour a day this week and at least that's an activity with them!0 -
Hello and welcome never too late!!! Good to see you and here's to getting slim for your birthday! Dragon will be along soon to add you to the list on the front page of this thread.
plzhelpmesave, thanks for the concern. I am going to give the running a miss till I feel better. I went for a walk this evening so that's 2 hours walking altogether today. I ate ok as well. Tomorrow I will go to the gym but will stick to the bike, stepper, rower and cross-trainer - no impact stuff. It's a shame as I was getting really into running again! Never mind, I guess it's more important to recover from whatever I've done to my leg.
Great idea to take the kids walking to school, I'm sure they prefer it to being cooped up in a car! :T
Hope your weigh-in goes well! Same to sarah.roberts. Keep us posted!!!

Tara, did you know that walking on an incline on the treadmill burns loads more calories than running and is better for fat burning? Ask at the gym for them to work out your fat burning zone (heart rate) then borrow a heart rate monitor. I did 45 mins on the treadmill today at about 6 km/hr at 15% incline and burned 603 calories! It would be about half that running.0

Hi everyone,
Had a really quick read of everyone's posts (my family are staying with me at the moment so I'm struggling to find time to breathe let alone go online!) and just want to say well done to everyone!
Weigh in today and somehow I managed to lose 4lbs this week :j which I am so happy about. Hopefully I can keep it off and lose more! It has proven to me what a difference no snacking can make so I am determined to keep this house free of chocolate!! Even the boxes of chocs OH gave me for Valentines still haven't been opened!
Good luck this week! Tara747, hope your leg is getting better.
