I think we have all done that at one time or another. Don't let it get you down. Think of all the healthy meals you have had this week, they are not going to be undone by one pig out. :grouphug:

I have found that eating a bit of what I fancy every night (chocolate) has really helped. I have pigged out on chocolate raisins once but felt sick after and really didn't enjoy them at all so haven't been tempted again so far (touch wood).

Remember that we should all be in this for the long haul and permanent healthy eating not dieting for quick fix weight loss - that will just turn us into yo yo dieters not healthy at all and damaging to the body in the long run...

Will someone just remind me of all this next Sunday night when I have scoffed 3 boxes of chocs in 1 sitting with the excuse that it is valentine's day?!! :rotfl:

Some sensible stuff there Rotherham Lass - and did no one ever tell you that chocolate eaten on Valentine's Day is free from calories and fat

Personally we will be going for a nice meal (well made at home!), beer and wine - I only ever eat chocolate at THAT time and thanks to the coil I don't have THAT time any more LOL (mind you cheese now! I can demolish a whole cheese board without stopping! If Dr Dragon wants to get me to eat something he makes me a cheese sarnie :D)

That's good to know! What about fizzy wine?? We are going away for a few days on one of the cheap de Vere hotel deals so I am going to be extra good this week in readiness for all the goodies I know I am going to eat at the weekend - hey what is a weekend off in the grand scheme of things. :D And I know I will be doing lots and lots of exercise....

There is a pool there for all you with dirty minds!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Dont worry about the pig out- but if you do see yourself being good and then bingeing maybe ask yourself why. Would it not be better to have a little bit of whatever it is that you are craving instead of denying yourself so that you want it even more and eventually crack big style?

Not expecting great things on the weigh in tomorrow but we'll see.

    Good luck all! x

weighed in and lost 1.5lbs which is the 1.5 I put on the week before! Its been and up and down kind of week didn't think I would lose that but got there in the end. Last week is gone now, clean sheet, more exercise, less nibbling and better results!!

Bunny200, well done you! :T I like your positivity!

RotherhamLass and coffeeholic, big congrats also on your weight loss!! :D

Thanks for your words of advice girls, I am just going to put the weekend disaster behind me. jessicamb, that 'cycle' is exactly what I don't want to get into. I thought that having a target date (hols) would make me even more determined - instead the pressure of a deadline is almost making me self-sabotage. :o

Maybe I need to focus a bit more and remember why I'm doing it and what the wonderful payoff will be? I weighed in at 62.4kg this morning with 28.4% body fat, I seem to be actually putting weight ON. I gave myself a good hard look in the mirror and asked how I would feel if this was the first day of my holiday and I hadn't lost any weight? Answer: awful. So I resolved to do better. Here's hoping. I'm going to the gym today and eating properly. Let's see if I can beat this minor setback. :A

  • Come on Tara - you know you can do it. I know you can just from reading your posts - so keep your positive attitude and fight that flab!! (even though i would kill to be your weight!)

Welcome more newbies..!! I love this thread tooooo, and i know its helping me to eat less. My weigh in tomorrow...oooo er missus:eek:

Rotheramlass - here to next weekend;)

Bunny200 - love your attitude towards a new week, that;s how i am trying to look at it. Each day is a fresh start and tbg, any week you don't gain weight is a god week!

Have to say though i am excercising more - watched the last 4 dances of Dancing on Ice whilst on the mini stepper, and i do think i may even get out the resistance bands today and add my arms to the workout. I can already feel a really slight difference to my waist - just under the bra-line- whcih feels a bit less wobbly and generally a bit less! Gonig to watch Strictly Come Dancing on the 22nd Feb - 2 weeks to go - and had bought a size 14 dress to wear so i'm gonna try to stay really good, wii fit every day if possible and stepper every day definately to see if i can get into it!!

Bought some bargain porridge sachets yesterday from b&m bargains - oatsosimple with nuts for 49p for 5 sachets so back on porridge for brekkie till i run out! Wholemeal toast with baked beans for lunch and soup for dinner - Chocolate snack a jacks for .... snacks if needed!

Lets all have a good week guys, and here's hoping we can all report some/any weight loss!!

In answer to the the above question - Fizzy wine loses all calories as soon as the cork is popped but only on Valentine's Day, your own birthday or a wedding/anniversary!:rotfl:

Tara - don't think of the holiday as the be all and end all time for the weight loss - just think it will be smashing to be slimmer and fitter by the time it comes around - that way there is marginally less pressure :p

Ooer missus to the exercise - you'll get water logged you know :D

Weight for me this morning 20 stone 11.5 which is down 4 pounds on last Monday :T (which means an overall loss of 1.5 pounds 'cos I put on between Sunday and Monday last week *sigh*) - but it is getting there! Only another 5.5 pounds to go in this short month

  • Morning all,

Popping in with a quick update, I'll be back later to catch up properly on all the posts!!

Weight loss: 2lbs for me this week - actually a wee bit disappointed, as I had a sneaky peek on Friday and had lost 3lbs, but I slipped up on Saturday night! Stuck to the diet all day, then on the way home got a (large) portion of fried rice, and then had 5 chocolate hob nobs!! Got back on track yesterday though, but just a bit frustrating that I could've held onto that extra 1lbs loss if I'd just had a bit more self control!

    Exercise-wise - wasn't quite as active as planned over the weekend;

Friday - didn't make the class as roads were bad due to snow, and hadn't time to go to the later one since I was going to the cinema
Saturday - Skipped the class and went for a 5 mile walk instead
Sunday - went to a yoga class for the first time, which was really good, but I'm very inflexible! Then went for a swim, and managed a new personal best - 62 lengths (of a 20 metre pool)!! :T :j I've only ever done 25 before and was impressed with that at the time! Plus, my back and arm muscles are aching today!! :D

So exercise-wise, I managed 2 body attack classes, a 5 mile walk, a yoga class, and 62 lengths of the pool last week! Not bad, in comparison to what I usually do, but not as much as I'd like, so aiming for 4 exercise classes this week - and with a bit more variety too!!

Have a good day everyone, and I'll catch up properly later on! :D

    xx
