When I was in Pret yesterday, I picked up one of their sandwiches and there on the packet was some dietary advice claiming to be from women who live on the mediterranean.
Eat fresh wholesome food
Use a smaller plate
Eat 3 meals a day without snacking
When you eat a meal stop before you start to feel full
It makes sense - I am pleased with myself because I have stopped snacking.:j
It is what we all know - but do we do it?do we flip :rotfl:, I didn't eat my calories yesterday and guess what - up three pounds today  - so back to tracking and low fat *sigh* why is it never easy

I tried the slimfast diet a while ago where you just have a milkshake for b/fast and lunch and then a 500 calorie meal. I put so much weight on with that as I was more or less starving myself. I have to eat at least 1,500 calories a day or I just don't loose weight at allVirgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0

This thread moves so quick I'm going to have to try and keep up!
I've lost the weight by eating healthy meals and making sure my calorie intake is around 1500 a day, I have around 300 for breakfast 400 for lunch and 400 for dinner, the rest in snacks - usually weight watchers dessert yogurts - I love those!
I've also started walking to work and back which I think has made the biggest difference. I only lost 0.5lbs this week so i'm going to start running too to try and boost it. I need to lose 1.5lbs a week to hit my target. Ultimately I want to have a 9 in my weight by the time I go on holiday on 28th May and i've got 2 stone to get there!
My biggest problem is when I don't have any food in I crave a quick fix like takeaway, chocolate, crisps. So i've been really organised and cooked in bulk and saved portions in the freezer. So when I'm in a hurry I can just grab something like quorn shepards pie and i'm sorted.

Gemsy - well done. Sounds like you lost weight the right way - the way we're all supposed to do. I meant to get in some fish pies from Farmfoods - about 300 cals and only 90p! Thought i could keep them in for "emergency" days and have with some steamed veg and salad... by the way has anyone else noticed how the price of cuecumbers has shot up??? £1-£1.50 each and half the size they used to be.....
Was very good last night! Hubby bought pizza for him and the kid and while i watched them eat it (and had 1 bite of his garlic bread!), i sat and ate chicken and veg left over from day before, with lots of salad. We'd normally get two large pizzas so there would be enough for lunchtime today, possibly with fries.... BUT instead only got 2 small pizzas and some garlic bread - and they still managed to save some for lunch today!
Making some meat pilau today, so will be having that tonite - was planning on taking out some of the meat before i add the rice in and having that for my dinner with some vega ndmaybe a small portion of rice. I normally have a BIG portion of rice in a BIG plate and enjoy every mouthful! I've taken one of my "good" plates out of the cupboard with is about half the size of my normal large dinner plates, so will be using that from now on for my food - so that's one of your tips in action Horace!!
Sorry for the essay - will go and feed the kids and then do some excercise!0 -
oh dear... i don't post for a while and come back to find 15 pages to catch up on!!
i've been pretty good this week, so i'm hoping i'll be able to report a loss on Monday.0 -
Been out mystery shopping today and walked for miles - even popped into the local IKEA as I was passing and managed to lose 15 pounds wandering around there :rotfl:
Going to do a bit of My Fitness Coach now - only eaten a tuna sandwich too from Greggs so not too shabby at all! (normally have fast food if I am out all day).
Hope you are all doing well. The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -
jessica - LOL @ 15lbs off in IKEA, good thinking I'll have to pay them a visit to ditch that weight too lol.
becca - woohoo for the being good. I find that always the best motivation to stay goodYou don't want to ruin the work already done.
plzhelpme - will power of iron! Id have given in for the pizza lol i looove it too much
not done much today exercise wise. Took DD to baby ballet which was err a little exercise i guess, then a short walk with the pram (id say less than a mile total) to the shops. I've managed to catch a cough/sore throat which seems to get sore outside hence little walking. Think I will have a bash at Davina tonight again though.
Tara - those workout links r great! I'd not use them daily because id get fed up of looking at the laptop lol BUT great for days when I'm bored of my DVDs and need a change!0 -
I feel as though i have fallen off the wagon, but i refuse to give up! The bad weather meant that my plans of getting the pedometer out and walking my 10,00 steps has turned into crawling 10,000 times around the lounge pursuing ds who has just learnt to crawl! Foodwise, alot of junk has been consumed, albeit homemade, still junk! So, tomorrow i need to regain control of the food situation! Haven't weighed myself yet, as Tuesday is weigh day for me :O) Well done everyone for doing so well!August: £149/£150

Hello all, hope you have had a good day.
I have just been soooooo naughty and been to the chippybeen to the football and only just got back so couldn't be bothered to cook. In my defence I resisted having scratchings and stuck to a chip cob lol. As soon as I get myself back to the gym I am gonna weight myself and start tracking my losses/puttings on properly, I'm just going to try and be healthy for now. (what a hypocrit lol)
OMG emmylou - can babies do ballet??? Wow!
Oh, why oh why can't chocolate be good for you...
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
