Charlie1986, even maintaining your weight while not being able to get out and about is good going. :j Dn't let work get you down, it is a pain in the !!!! but do something nice to take your mind off it. :A
coffeeholic, a bubble bath sounds fab!!! I'm impressed that you can resist weighing yourself for a whole week, I've got it down to once a day now. :rotfl: Well done on the DVD action and planning your food for tomorrow.
I am definitely going to do some exercise this evening before OH gets home. And (very MSE!) I came across this today! I am so excited, it's like my own personal trainer and personal chef on my computer! And it saves me having to buy a fitness DVD. :money: This will be my new morning companion...

Coffeeholic - what do you think of the coleen dvd? is it her new dvd one - that looks brill!
CrapWM & Tara - have been on the mini stepper again today and did 15mins on the wii. I've made some space in my bedroom today (put away kids cot!!) so will take the stepper upstairs and do it during my evening tv time!! Does excercise have less impact after 10pm? MY friend said her sister lost loads of weight and toned up loads just doing stepping every night - haven't tried it with the resistance bands yet.... one step at a time!! lol
I don't think i'll get the vibroplate out of the box though - will return it as the reviews are that it is really noisy. Its the Carl Lewis one - got it for £80 from Sainsburys - reduced from £180!!! Think i only bought it because it seemed a good price - local gym charges £5 for % minutes on the powerplate!!
For everyone going out over the weekend - be as good as you can be while still having a good time!0 -
sorry, me again.....
just to say can't remember whose idea it was to put up "thin" photos... brilliant idea so thanks!!
I found a few today and can't believe how thin i was and how good i looked - without meaning to sound conceited!! I can actually remember feeling good about myself then -on top of the world in fact, instead of letting life get to me and using that as an excuse to stay fat. Have put one of my faves on the wall to remind me of how i want to look again- right by where my stepper is going!!
So go and dig out a gorgeous old photo of yourself, put it up somewhere and
lets all get gorgeous together!!0 -
Hiya, sorry I haven't posted since I signed up to this (haven't been on here for a few days) but just wanted to share my start weight for Feb - 12st 11.5lbs
Was at the gym for 2 hours today but came home and had a chippy for tea which I'm annoyed at myself for - I always use the gym as an excuse to eat rubbish (cancelling out any good effect that the exercise might have had - pure self-sabotage!!) Does anyone else do this or is it just silly me? xxx0 -
Yawn...what a busy day I have had today. Wrapped up like a bloomin' yeti this morning as it was snowing again:rolleyes: so I took my walking pole with me when I went to town. I saw my solicitor - had a free half hour with her then negotiated her fee down from £195 per hour to £95 per hour:j - She is working on my business contracts.
I did my mystery shop at Pret but I am afraid to say that I didnt have anything healthy:eek: Ham & Cheese croissant, almond croissant and hot choc. The other mystery shop didnt go well as the bloomin' assistants refused to serve me and spent their time giggling about their boyfriends and doing their own makeup:mad: I figured that I must have been wearing an invisibility cloak but my report has gone in. I decided then to try and do the other option on the beauty shop (you have to spend a min of £25 and you only earn £10:eek: ) but the guy was on his own and really busy so I have asked that I do this shop on Monday (I have to go to the dentist anyway) - he has promised me a free makeover (the chap was delicious with cheekbones to die for but he was as gay as the day is long - why are all the dishy ones gay?) He was such a nice chap and I didnt want to penalise him for refusing to sell me a product because he didnt have time to explain and he wanted to demonstrate it first on me:D
I have found a way of getting some exercise - get on the wrong bus which drops me 2 miles from my home so I have to walk back:j I did it again today and will do it again on Monday:D0 -
Hello everyone,
Have only just found this thread - is it ok if I join in? Have read a few pages and you are all doing so well, I have been trying to lose weight for a while now but not really being that serious about it, if that makes sense. This year I have decided to really go for it because I'm fed up of my wobbliness! I look in the mirror and its like my head is too small for my body - does anyone else get that feeling? :rotfl:
When I left uni I was a size 12/14 and nicely toned - thats what I want to get back to. At the minute I'm verging on an 18 and it's doing my head in!
Since December I have really cut down the amount I am eating - I don't count calories or anything but I go by portion sizes and healthy food on the plate - less meat, less carbs, more veg. I also went to the gym 4 times a week throughout December and the beginning of January, but then we had a bit of a no money month and couldn't really spare the petrol to get to the gym (it's only a 10 minute drive but not really walkable, unfortunately). So thats got me out of the habit now. I must start again though. I am also (when I get some cash) going to buy an exersise dvd for those days when I just can't be bothered to go to the gym.
God I do ramble I'm sorry.... Some tips from me as compensation for you having to read it (how much use I don't know, being as I'm balancing the laptop on my belly :rotfl: )
1. At the gym, the cross trainer racks up the calories FAR quicker than the treadmill seems to - 20mins burns up around 400cals for me. And its easier on the boobies than running is
2.For chocolate cravings, try that Lindt 80% chocolate - it's so strong you only need a tiny bit and it really satisfies. I find that I have sweet cravings rather than chocolate cravings, and that hits the spot. I don't drink milk but a friend likes it with a glass of milk when she fancies milk chocolate!
Yep thats way too long now...
xThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -

It was me, glad you are getting so much encouragement from it, I am happy to help.I did it because I read somewhere that you should focus on where you want to go rather than what you are trying to get away from. So it's a carrot rather than stick approach. It works for me anyway!!

When I was in Pret yesterday, I picked up one of their sandwiches and there on the packet was some dietary advice claiming to be from women who live on the mediterranean.
Eat fresh wholesome food
Use a smaller plate
Eat 3 meals a day without snacking
When you eat a meal stop before you start to feel full
It makes sense - I am pleased with myself because I have stopped snacking.:j0 -
Happy Saturday everyone!
plzhelpmesave - the Coleen dvd I have is from 2005, and its called My Brand New Body Workout, I bought it because it was £3 in a sale last January and the cover is pink and sparkly and looked nice! (It's Wayne Rooney's missus by the way not Coleen Nolan). I'm still sore today after doing it Thursday night so it must have worked. The DVD itself is really good, there are separate sections for boxing, legs, abs, core etc but doing all the sections would have killed me, so I just did a few. Once I've stopped aching I'm going to try and do this at least 3 times a week.
Tara - that link for the daily workout is fab, and even better because its freee!! Well done for finding it. :T
stargirl - you're not alone I do that too, or I used to. I'm one of those people who will convince herself that its ok to have a pizza as long as I have an apple afterwards, because the healthy stuff will cancel out the bad stuff! :rotfl:
silaqui - mmm thanks for the chocolate tip, I love Lindt chocolate. I used to eat at least a bar of choc everyday but haven't had any since last Sunday, something I never thought would happen! Has anyone tried that chewing gum from Trident that is chocolate flavoured?? I heard about it the other day, could be a way to get that chocolate fix without nearly as many calories!!All the coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person...
