  • Hi and welcome :D I'm not sure how to add you to the first post but i'm sure Dragon will be along soon and would do that.
I need to loose about 2 stone as well, and I really must drag my wii fit out the cupboard :rotfl:

  • Thanks Charlie! :D

My wii fit is currently resting against the tv so that I can constantly see it and be reminded to go on it! I do use it a fair amount, although I'm addicted to the ski jump game which probably isn't classed as exercise!!!

  • I have the family trainer and seem to use this more now. That has jumping on it and totally knackers me out :rotfl:. I do love the runaway mine train though but thats all about balance so no real exercise on that one either :o

    Hi everyone,

I know it is part way through Feb but pretty please may I join? I have been reading all of your posts these past few days and have great admiration for you all! I need to lose around 2 stone in total and generally just get fitter. I think my biggest downfalls are big portions (OH eats like a horse so it's force of habit to just shove the same amount onto my plate too!) and snacks as when I get bored at home I hunt for things to nibble on!

Since Christmas (guess who got given a bike as a pressie!) I have been cycling to and from work, sometimes twice a day if I have a long break in between clients, which is a 4 mile round trip so I'm hoping that will do me some good! From tomorrow I am also going to start to take a pasta salad type lunch to work and 1 or 2 healthy snacks, hidden in my bag, in case I find I need them!! I'm hoping to get back onto the Wii Fit as well.

So then everyone, please may I join in?!

I've got you littleemmie! You are added to the first post and here's hoping for a brilliant loss from all of us (and go you cycling in this weather!)

Other lunch options Couscous, rice salad and a green salad (take some low fat/cal dressing in a separate tub), snacks - make a big bowl of crudite and get some low fat dip (salsa, low fat blue cheese dressing), factor it in to your daily intake and scoff those! An easy one is low fat mayo mixed with some cayenne pepper.
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

  • Lost another 2 lbs this week so 11.5 lbs in total. Woohoo - only 2.5 lbs now for my target for February so really pleased. :j

Done lots of exercise this week - gym, swimming and dog walking but also had a pizza at Pizza Express, lasagne and chocolate tart at a friend's house and some chocolate raisins so the exercise obviously came out on top!

Thank you! Those lunch options sound yummy - I absolutely love dips so that will be great, thank you! Tomorrow is actually the first working day since having my bike that it is forecast for heavy rain so I've got my purple raincoat at the ready. The students I work with are going to think I'm so fashionable :rotfl:!!

    Well done Rotherham Lass! :T

  • Today was weigh day for me too - I've lost 1 lb this week, I was a bit over optimistic thinking it would be at least 3 lbs, but I'm happy with that. On a better note though I dug a pair of jeans out of my wardrobe which I hadn't been able to get past my thighs a couple of months ago, and I can zip and button them up now and there's a gap between the waistband and my tummy so it's working slowly but surely!! :j

Today, we went out for a meal, and I was proud of myself for not pigging out like I normally do, and not ordering a pudding. I did have 2 glasses of wine but then we walked home which cancels those out I'm sure :D

I'm hoping to get back to my exercise DVDs starting tomorrow, once I've stopped aching! I'm hoping I can lose at least 2 lbs this week to get myself back on track for my half a stone.

Hello all, and well done to those who have lost weight! :T

I've had a really bad weekend - OH cooked a fattening meal on Friday night (with wine), then we ate out twice yesterday and just pigged out totally today - I sat and watched a film with a jar of choc spread and a spoon! I feel terrible. It's as if I was 'good' during the week and 'bad' at the weekend. I hope I haven't undone all the week's good work. :( I badly need to get back on track and not let this weekend get me down.

Welcome to the new people, this thread is lovely and so supportive.

I think we have all done that at one time or another. Don't let it get you down. Think of all the healthy meals you have had this week, they are not going to be undone by one pig out. :grouphug:

I have found that eating a bit of what I fancy every night (chocolate) has really helped. I have pigged out on chocolate raisins once but felt sick after and really didn't enjoy them at all so haven't been tempted again so far (touch wood).

Remember that we should all be in this for the long haul and permanent healthy eating not dieting for quick fix weight loss - that will just turn us into yo yo dieters not healthy at all and damaging to the body in the long run...

Will someone just remind me of all this next Sunday night when I have scoffed 3 boxes of chocs in 1 sitting with the excuse that it is valentine's day?!! :rotfl:
