I had a burger (not Muckspreaders but in a pub) and because I eat so much vegetarian food it made me feel sooooooo ill I couldn't finish it! Dr Dragon loved his though LOL - so at least I know for next time to have the veggie burger there!

    Enjoy the exercise DVD!

  • Morning all!

Yesterday wasn't a great day food-wise and I did virtually no exercise so I'm hoping to make up for it today. I don't go to a gym at the moment as its almost impossible to find a cheap one around here, so I'll be doing one of my fitness dvds in the house after work. I need to get into a proper work out routine, once I finish work and sit down on the sofa I find it hard to get motivated to get back up!!

I'm going to try and cut down on caffeine to see if that makes a difference, I'm sure my 10 cups a day can't be helping  Since I gave up smoking its been my best friend, so I'm gonna see if its helping or hampering me...

Deans - That RC salsa class sounds like a lot of fun. I might google and see if there are any classes like that near me, sounds like a great way to get fit!

Webitha - at least you won't be craving those maccy ds again!! Exercise those nasty toxins away!!! :D

Have a good day everyone

  • Hello, hello!!

Well done to all you who are doing well!! :T :A

Eating-wise, I've had the best week so far that I've had in a while!! - But there's still the weekend to come, and that's where I always fall down!! I'm planning on taking the car out this weekend though, so there'll be no alcohol, and no hangover munchies come Sunday morning! And I'll be dragging my sorry backside along to the gym! ;)

I'd planned on legs, bums and tums last night, then didn't go, but I had a wee mid-week sneak at the scales this morning, and since it's looking pretty good - methinks it'll be enough motivation to force myself along again tonight!

On a plus point, looks as though my swipe card for work isn't working, and it'll be tomorrow before I get a new one - is it really bad that I'm thinking that means I could just nip away from work a wee 15 mins early, therefore make the earlier gym class, and not run the risk of going back home, and then not being bothered to go back out? Hhhhhhmmmmm........

Go to the earlier class, crapwithmoney, you will be glad! And good planning for the weekend. :T You are an inspiration.

I am sitting here with ZERO motivation to go to the gym and just wanting a chocolate bar! :( I am STARVING too despite a bowl of porridge two hours ago, hmmm, methinks the hoodia was working after all. So I will start taking it again this afternoon.

I have to go to the gym, I have to go to the gym...

I want to go to the gym... no, that doesn't work.

I want to be slimmer and fitter and look nice on holiday... OK, that's sorta motivating me.

  • That's what is motivating me at the moment, wanting to look better than I did on hol last year. I've got a pic of me on hols last year looking all rough and chubby and its taped onto the fridge door so I'll think twice when I get the munchies! Will have to take it down when I get visitors though :o

I do the opposite coffeeholic, I've dug out skinny pics of myself and stuck them up to remind me what I'm working towards!! I feel green with envy looking at the slim, fit girl in the pics! Although I could just as easily stick some fat ones beside them! :rotfl: It's all good motivation...

I went to the gym and didn't get off the treadmill till I'd burned 300 cals! I switched about between different inclines and speeds. So proud of myself! :) What really made go was the desire to come back here and post about having been to the gym and not let myself down on the challenge.

This thread is so motivational, i read about the rest of you struggling with your motivation/craving issues and overcoming them, and I think 'if you can do it, I can do it too'.

I can't just expect the weight to come off because I want it to. I need to really work at it, exercise hard enough (and often enough) and eat the right things and in smaller quantities. Things like yesterday's chocolate-eating (and snacking, and too-big portions) are just going to come back to bite me if I don't end up losing any weight. It'll be my own fault if I'm fat on the beach!

    Sorry for the ramble!!

ooohhhh - well, that's the first time I've ever been called that - especially where exercise/dieting are concerned! :D;)

Is this the first week you've been doing it Tara? (Ie watching what you're eating/going to the gym etc) I started officially on the 5th of Jan, but I would say it's only really this week that I've had the motivation to do it properly! Going cold turkey doesn't seem to work out so well for me, I need to set a start date, then change gradual things over the next few weeks, 'til 3/4 weeks down the line, where I'm usually then on board with the healthy eating - and wanting to exercise!!

If you really want a bar of chocolate, then have one - depriving yourself will only make you more likely to fall off the wagon entirely! Maybe do a deal with yourself - that you can have the chocolate ( a smallish bar), but then you must go to the gym to combat it?

I'm always starving when I first start out too - generally because I think about food all the time as soon as I start to cut down, and it's inevitable, that as soon as I've thought about it - I want to eat it!

    xx

Im impressed - I absolutely hate the treadmill - there's no way I'd manage a run long enough to shift 300 cals! :A :T

Sorry - I should've read the rest of the thread before my last reply! - Whoops!

You're right about posting on here being motivational - it's funny, cause obviously you could just lie and say you'd done it anyway (although you'd only be cheating yourself) - but it does really make you want to actually do it!
  • GOOOOOOO Tara!! 300 kals - how blooming long were you on for???

Hi guys.... anyone wanna shout at me?

Eaten 2 packs of crisps today and a handful of chocolate peanuts - and now the guilt kicks in and makes me thing, oh well, done it now so start again tomorrow. My head knwos what to do to get thinner... but i can't seem to make the rest of me follow along!

Kids are home today so they're the ones who got the crisps out.... oooh the little fat feeders! Been out in the snow to make our family snowman which was good and should have knocked a few calories - but other than than i'm doing so little excercise.
I have a mini stepper at home - been on it once bought it 2 weeks ago.
At the same time bought a Carl LEwis Vibro Plate - still in the box.
Have an Orbitrek - had it for 7 years and on average must have used it once a year! I have this thing that if i buy it and don't use it - it will still work on getting me thinner!

Been meaning to get the wii fit out for the past 3 days, but never seem to do it... help me guys!
