  • Morning Wedding gang!

crap... the 4 outfits essential! its an asian wedding and we like to do everything on different days so the wedding will last about a week! Luckily its in the first week of sumer holidays,, sow will be able to keep up with all the late nights.... and of course, i'll be thin by then so will have bags of energy:p

Sarah - congrats on the upcoming wedding! You'll have to lead the way for us hun!

My kids pulled out our scales last nite and we all ended up weighing ourselves. in 7 years of marriage, have never let my hubby know my expanding weight.... but did it yesterday .. to discover he only weighs half a stone more than me  :pHOW EMBRARASSING!!! I didn't know where to look and felt really ashamed of myself but tried to laugh it off ... as you do.
He also said that i don't really help myself as i always stoop my shoulders and would look a lot better withmy shoulders straightened back, which would make me look thinnner. I know he is right, but how hard is it to change your posture?

If nothing else, its another bit of motivation... and actually stoppped me eating a second pitta bread last nite.. only had one pitta with fish and lots of salad, followed by grapes - not chocolate!!

I worked out yesterday that I need to lose 10 stone to be in the sensible range , I also found out the Dr Dragon weighs six stone less than me :eek: - but I am another half pound down this morning :j, nothing else for it, more water, more *cough* s.e.x (the only exercise I can do - and Dr Dragon doesn't object :D) and more stitching to keep my mind off food (in the fact that if I am not busy I start thinking that I don't want to eat anything and start starving myself again , ie I remember how porky I am and how many doctors just told me to cut down the food!)

Now the ultimate question is - are we going to have a virtual Hen Night on here?

Ohhh a virtual hen night would be good ... as long as we can drink virtual wine, virtually dance to Abba and eat virtual kebabs at the end of the night! :rotfl:
Bit stressed today cos Mum is worrying about too many people being invited to the wedding party in July. I know it will be fine though!
Away to work out my frustration with Davina's High Energy 5 DVD.
Hope you're all having a fab day

Morning all! No weddings coming up for me either, but I'm up for the hen night! Yay!

I developed a funny tummy yesterday afternoon, probably picked a bug up...grrr people who don't wash their mits after going to the loo, and spread germs everywhere! So I didn't manage any more walks.

Dragon, not being able to do 'most' exercise must be a right pain, poor you! Though at least you can do the best kind:D. I bet mr Dragon doesn't object:T

    Hope everyone else is OK.

That made me laugh out loud!! It is excellent exercise after all. ;)

Well done webitha, and Nanuq, shame about your tummy bug!

I had some Weetabix this morning, hadn't had it for YEARS and now I remember why... it is yuk! I stopped eating after a couple of spoonfuls and had 3 oatcakes instead... I am getting through the oatcakes at a rate of knots!!

Yes to the virtual hen night, what a fab idea! I have a cousin's wedding to go to in a couple of months as well so will happily join in the fun.

plzhelpmesave!, I would like to improve my posture too, not sure how. I've heard the Alexander Technique is good, but no idea what it involves!!

Don't worry about being similar in weight to your husband, I weigh the same as my friend who is 6 inches taller than me!! Scary.

A week-long Asian wedding sounds really amazing! Where is it?

  • Tara - sounds good, but its so hectic and full of usual family politics!! its in a really exotic location which is why i wanna get thin.... birmingham! lol.

I was just thinking we should go the whole hog and have a virtual wedding on here as well!!

Told my sister about joining this challenge yesterday - she doesn't really "do" internet, bless her. She's starting her Atkins again today, and said she could lose a 7lbs in a week on that rather than lose it in a month. Yes, i said, but you know you will put it back on. I'm gonna try and be a really good girl and keep it all off... assuming it all comes off in the first place!

Having said that, may introduce a bit of "mini-atkins" into my eating and go easy on the bread, pasta, potatoes, rice....

anyone else done atkins?? My sis has lost weight with it and also with paul mcKenna , but very hard to keep up with it unless you choose to maintain a healthy lifestyle or are happy to go up and down with your weight. I've just been happy to let it go up for the past 5 years..... lol BUT NO MORE!
  • Just to add, have been trying to excercise while im on the pc! Just moving lesgs, feet and butt clenching, bit of side twisting... it all adds up!

A friend of mine did Atkins, lost 7 stone to get down to 11 stone and he was really chuffed - he stopped doing it and started piling the weight on - he is now going for a tum band thingy as he is nearly 30 stone  - he says the only way to lose weight is to eat everything in moderation (um ..... you don't say!).

Virtual everything for the hen party - oooh yes! As well as Abba can we have some classic 80's stuff (Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Frankie Goes to Hollywood etc) - not sure about the virtual kebab - I might go for a Virtual Chinese take out or Virtual Fish and Chips instead! :rotfl:
