My father in law lost about a stone with atkins but as soon as he started eating 'normally' again it went back on. I don't think I'm disciplined enough for Atkins, I just love my carbs too much. As soon as I cut something out of my diet I tend to start craving it. I did General Motors diet last year - and there's 1 day where you can only eat bananas milk and this veggie soup you can make, and by 4pm I cracked and had 3 slices of toast with marmitefelt tons better after that!!! I didn't lose much weight with that diet, can't figure out why
All the coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person...

Afternoon all!!
oooohhhh - a virtual hen party sounds fab!!As long as we're all dancing away at the end of our PC's to the virtual music - it oughta shift a few lbs as well!!
I'm very proud of me today - I actually made it to, and survived my first ever body attack class last night - and it was nowhere near as bad as I expected! I was still pooped at the end of it, but didn't quite wanna lie down and die! Also planning on some Legs, Bums and Tums tonight! Fingers crossed!
I haven't tried Atkins myself, (well, actually, I think I did do it for a few days at one point, but ended up just putting weight on, cos I basically spent a few days eating lots of fry ups, then went back to normal!). I'm following slimming world just now, it's the first official "diet" I've really done, and it's surprisingly easy! Don't ever seem to go hungry, and I can still eat the food I want, just as long as it's in moderation! As well as that, I'm trying to fit in as much exercise as I possibly can!
Plzhelpmesave - the wedding sounds amazing!! Much more of an "event" than ours is likely to be! Because it's abroad, the wedding doesn't start 'til 5pm in the day, and the "ceremony" will only last 15-20 mins! Although, the fortnight long hol either side will be pretty good!

Hi all, I was a bit naughty this morning, I stopped in New Street for a hot sausage bap with fried onions - well, the sausages were organic and rather yummy (I had walked a mile to get to that point). Then I stopped off at another organic farm stall and bought a chicken & mushroom pie (not for me as can't abide mushrooms) and a small cornish pasty. At least the meat is homegrown and the pies and pasties are home made - the carbon footprint isnt too bad either - about 10 miles from farm to me:D
Got a different bus home (mainly because an ex boyfriend was driving it). When I say ex I mean it - we went out when I was 17:eek: Well as the bus doesnt really go my way, I got off at the nearest point to my home and walked back (about a mile and half downhill in snow). Now this chap has given me his number and told me to ring him so I am now in a quandry, do I phone or not?
I think I shall go for another walk tomorrow because to be honest I enjoyed walking back through the snow. I was careful this morning when I went out because I took one of my walking poles with me and to be honest it was fab because I didnt slip over once.
Oh and I am still going mad for fruit - my chap reckons that my body must be short of vitamins which is why I am almost rabid for fruit at the mo - I just can't get enough of it.0 -
Have been quite naughty tonight and having fish and chips
Only used 7.5 of my 20 weight watchers points so far though so it's not too bad, although i think the fish and chips will take me to about 20

Fish and chips in moderation is healthy food so try not to fret about it. Is weight watchers any good? I have thought about joining just to get the points book.0 -

Thank you Dragon for the welcome.
Well, I've been to my first RC class and I actually enjoyed it!
The fitness classs was great and the people were really friendly.
I'm a newbie on here so I'm afraid I don't know how to PM you!
I've just got to work out what to eat now........

Hi Deans, I'm glad you enjoyed the class, was the exercise very vigorous?
I'd be interested in the RC info too, the class/exercise part sounds interesting, just the idea of measuring portions sounds a bit scary.
To PM: just click on Dragon's name in one of her posts, and select 'send a private message'. Hope that helps.0 -
Hi Nanuq,
It was a salsa class which was fun and dancing seemed a good way to exercise!
The instructor gave lots of options so you could work to your own fitness level.
I was given a 2 week booklet to start the diet and a set of portion pots to measure food in (thats the scary bit - they seem very small!)
Will let you know how it goes

not a bad day today - not eaten all that much rubbish and managed half an hour of My Fitness Coach and half an hour of free step on the Wii Fit while watching Terry Pratchett on BBC2.The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0
