Why are some people seeing yellow or bright colours? I only see that awful brown stripe on the bottom left hand side. I've been to control panel and can't see any option to change the interface only the reply box interface.

    Ctrl+F5...............

I think this is more than a case of us not liking new things.

Anyone able to find any threads for when we changed colours? It wasn't that long ago that we went green was it - perhaps if we can compare reaction to that, to this reaction, it'll show if it is more than us not liking new things.

From memory - I don't remember comments about the changes being glaring, too bright, making people eyes feel uncomfortable.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Irrelevant, read this post here. You can control how the forum displays on your computer!
hmm tried that already and she is doing that now. But I let her be the judge of whether that is relevant to her or not. I don't think you are experiencing her difficulties and it is all too easy to be a 'keyboard warrior', when a forum debate hots up.

Yes, it is a clever thing to be able to change the appearance of a web-page and maybe other people might not realise that they can. Nevertheless the minor improvement that your suggestion offers masks the point that she found it much more comfortable to view the site as it used to be. Of course the change you suggest makes other sites lose their usual appearance or lose screen elements - see downsizer.net - your sweeping statement just doesn't stand up and is disrespectful imho.

I was just wondering about that. Must be possible to override the colour scheme.
That link doesn't give any useful info though.

That's what many of us saw at first, seems to have been a transitional phase. ctrl+F5 (as suggested by expresso above) should reload the page, giving you the 'new, improved' version...feel free to leave the F5 button alone :)

    I found this via google:

To change the colour of the text or page background

If changing the colour of the text or page background would make pages easier to read, you can do so, but it's not exactly straighforward in Internet Explorer:
      <LI class=olliclass>Click on
Tools, at the top of the screen <LI class=olliclass>Select Internet Options from the menu that appears <LI class=olliclass>Now, find and click on the Accessibility button towards the bottom right of the 'control panel' that appears (see Figure 2) <LI class=olliclass>If you want to change the page colours, click on Ignore colours specified on Web pages <LI class=olliclass>If you want to change the typeface (font) of the text, click on Ignore font styles specified on Web pages
[*]Once you're done, select OK, then OK again. Or select Cancel if you decide not to make these changes (you can always go back and change them again)

Depends on your browser of choice e.g. Firefox, Tools, Options, Content Tab, Colours etc.

Most forums offer the user the choice of styles, if more than one are installed, but in most it is disabled by the owner so you see the design they want
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

You can also set it to use your own css files. I currently know nothing about css files, but I'm sure it's possible to find one somewhere and modify it.
