what a sad story about your little cat Tired Mum.....on a positive note at least he just fell asleep and didnt suffer....although it is hard to see things like this in the aftermath...hugs
Bargainbird...I was also big for dates all the way through and DS was 11lb:eek:
but I survived to tell the tale and if I can do it anyone can:D ...good luck and don`t panic!0 -
Ouch, Bargainbird - sounds like you're going to have to brace yourself! I would have lots of lie downs from now on!
Rage in Eden - for what it's worth, I think the media are great at finding out for us the things we should know, the things that the powers that be try to hide from us, but I totally agree with you about the frenzy they seem to whip up whenever a personality or a 'celeb' does anything. They can make or break a story by how they handle it.
WS - I'm so sorry about your ladybits, but you do have a unique way of describing things! I hope they get better soon!
Mrs Mix - sorry to hear about the car but glad no-one was hurt. I hope you manage to get somewhere with the driver who was responsible.
Curly Top - hope you feel better soon.
DIL1 has just phoned to say both DGS and DGD were sick in the night - this tummy bug that's going round - so they were all snuggled up in front of the TV watching one of the antiques programmes. They have stopped being sick but look too washed out to go to school. It's DGD's birthday tomorrow, so I hope they're over the worst by then. Apparently, it's quite a quick bug so they should be as right as rain soon. DGD will throw up into a bowl with o persuading, but DGS can't bear to, for some reason, so DIL had a forty-five minute cleaning up session in the middle of the night last night, bless her.
Well, I've done the ironing, washed the kitchen floor and also washed the potatoes ready to turn into jackets for dinner. Two loaves and a bread-and-butter pudding are cooling on the worktop, I've been to the Post Office (a lovely walk in the sun there and back), had my lunch and now I'm going to sit down for a couple of hours.
See you all later.

Well, hello again :hello: Sistercas PM'd me and I decided to stop being stupid and start posting here again. You know how it is when you don't see people for ages, and you really want to call them but you feel awkward about what you're going to say
That's been me, wanting to jump back into posting but not feeling I can. I'm rapid cycling at the moment, which means I am up and down again all in the space of a few days. The medication is helping, I'm not as high or as low as I would be otherwise, but it's still there, so please understand if I'm a bit odd at times. Well, I know I'm odd anyway, I meant odder than usual
Gosh there's so much to catch up with just for today, let alone the last few months
Redruby - :grouphug: to you and OH
Halfpint and Tiredmum - A huge hug to both of you too. :grouphug: losing a friend is never easy, whether that friend is a person or a pet.
Daisychain - yuck, I hate going to the dentists. Hope it went well.
Halight - what a great ambition! Good for you
Specsappeal - cool I'm an Avon rep too!
Rageineden - :grouphug:
Reverbe - good luck with the job hunting
Huge hugs too to anyone who is poorly, having a bad time, or just wants one because :grouphug: and too those with big bumps too!
Salopman, I agree about the little chef prog - so frustrating! I am really looking forwards to the cheap food one tonight. I told my friend she needs to watch it and she said no way, I'll never buy any of it again if I watch it. I said that was kind of the point I was making
I am pondering the supermarkets today. I barely shop at the supermarket at all now, what fruit and veg we don't grow comes from the farm shop, as do the eggs. Meat is from the butcher. It's dumb stuff like flour and loo roll and catfood that I buy now. I'd love to find an alternative so I didn't have to go at all, but the alternatives I've found seem horrifically expensive. But I really don't want to carry on giving Tesco my money, I'm wondering if co-op might be a little more ethical? Does anyone have any ideas for me?0 -
A chest freezer and a Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker!
OS cooking here I come!!!!! :j0 -
silvercharming WELCOME BACK
nice to see you on here
I buy my meat and eggs some fruit and veg from the farm shop. but is a very small shop with limited produce ( and the only farm shop for miles around)
so alot of my stuff I get from tesco. although recently I have thought about CO-OP too.
Mioliere in a recent post said she had been to the co-op and I believe she liked it.
sybil that sounds particularly painful, hope you are ok0 -
Yay, excellent investments... I love my Panasonic breadmaker :j You may never buy a loaf again!0

Little bear is upstairs in his room. This is for my safety. I went downstairs to make some milkshake for him (desperation) and came up to find the room festooned with wool and him looking very defiant.
Often when he is like this it is his way of asking to go upstairs. So he went. I have no idea what he is up to, but there was a very large clunk and a giggle just now.
Okay, dinner is taken care of, going to ebay now, then try cleaning kitchen when dear heart comes home and then a half hour's ironing when he has gone to bed. My back is grumbling, as well as the other bits
but I shall take my ibuprofen and concentrate on feeling sorry for myself while I'm doing things instead of instead of doing things.
Hugs to all. There does seem to be a lot of horribility around. Cars and scans and dear hearts being not so dear. So extra hugs.
Also, silvercharming, it is nice to see you. Hope you feel okay.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Good afternoon all! late today as I had a rotten night and still feel lousy now, so am snuggled up in my dressing-gown. I'd rather be sleeping in bed, but DH hates that and thinks I'll feel better downstairs, bless him! Somehow he feels being in bed means one is really poorly!
So, very little going on here, OS or otherwise! We were going to have spag. bol. tonight, but can't fancy that - DH will handle cooking!
Sorry to those who have lost pets in the last few days - our dear old dog is very much on his last legs, but we hope to keep him a bit longer, Pets are very much a part of their families aren't they? And actually, usually more forgiving and affectionate than many humans! I love how we get a huge welcome whenever we come home, even if we've only been gone a short while.
JackieO, sorry to hear of your DGS's car mishap - nasty shake-up, but glad no-one was hurt. Hope your Dr can sort your cough for you.
Halight - brilliant ambition - hope you succeed. I love your posts too - always positive!
Good luck to all mums-to-be as well!
Take care all - and ((HUGS)) to all who need one today.Resolution:
