morning all. What a miserable rainy morning.

(((hugs hugs hugs))) to all those that are poorly and in need.

I'm still feeling sorry for myself after being at the dentist yesterday. After going for 2 fillings it turned into 4 and although I am really fond of my dentist and he is the nicest dentist alive who has never caused me any pain, this morning I am sitting nursing a very swollen face. One of the fillings that was done was in a back tooth and the local anaesthetic didnt work properly, so I ended up in complete agony with the tears pouring down my face each time he drilled into the nerve. TMI I know  I ended up in bed early cause my back just started spasming. I'm sure because I was so tense when it was done.

Dinner tonight will be the cottage pie that was for last night as I couldnt eat and DH decided he just wanted a sandwich and soup.

bah, enough moaning from me, I will post more when Im in a better frame of mind

    Morning all,
Last day doing the ceiling at DD2's, the plaster boards are so heavy I'll be glad when the last one is up. Plasterer coming on Monday to skim the ceiling, as we are off on Tuesday I'll have to decorate when we return, as long as it's done before the baby is due.
One of our tennents is moving out the day before we get back from our hols which means I'll have to decorate the whole house. We always re-decorate for new tennents as I wouldn't rent a place out that I wouldn't be happy to live in. So looks like we're gonna hit the ground runing.
BM on and sarnies done for lunch, Toulouse sos, pots, cabbage with onion gravy for Dinner.
Did the last of DD's washing last night and have ironed it this morning.
MSDIVA, I freeze my peppers whole and their fine.
PEN PIN, Don't appologise for moaning, you have every right to, your going through so much, I do hope you will soon feel better.
HOCKY, Well done on getting your mortgage, I'm sure your folks will be pleased for you.
MRS MIX Hope things get better.
LOOPYLINZ, Hi and hope you get better.
Huge hugs ((((((((HALFPINT, PEN PIN,TAPLADY, SMOKY, MEANMARIE, PURPLEIVY, CSARINA, MOGGINS.))))))))))

Good morning all. Blowing a gale and hissing down here, as well, with a severe weather warning for the south and south west later this evening, so I hope no-one suffers in any way. At least it's not cold.

Redruby (((hugs))) to the family who have lost someone so young. How awful for them.

Daisychain - good luck; you'll probably wonder why you were so worried once the treatment is over.

Sunnygirl - good luck to DD with the new consultant. I hope he's nice - it makes all the difference, doesn't it?

N9eav - I can understand your worries about moving in the current economic climate. As for France for a holiday - it's one of my favourite places. The £ at the moment is more or less on a level with the Euro, so not much difference in costs, but things are cheaper over there. Not sure about Iceland, though! My DS1 and his family went there last year for a wedding but they weren't impressed enough to want to go back!

Halight - you do have a lot on your plate, yet you always sound so positive. Fingers crossed that everything works out for you and I think the choice of career you would like is admirable. Good luck - you sound exactly the sort of person who should be working with the disabled.

Well, dinner tonight is jackets with pork and leek sausages from the local butcher, and Co-op's own baked beans (which are impossible to tell from Heinz, so a great find!). Pudding will be bread-and-butter pudding; we have it a lot because it's so easy and cheap, and delicious hot with icecream.

I have a bit of paperwork to do and the ironing that didn't get done yesterday because I was resting my back. It's not so painful now; I just feel stiff if I've been sat for a while (especially here at the computer!). I have some letters to post so I shall have to dodge the rain for that. There's no point taking the car to the Post Office because it's only fifteen minutes, there and back, and it's the devil of a job to park, anyway, so may need a hat!

WM and BM are both on; washing will have to dry upstairs due to the rain. I've cleaned and tidied upstairs, and put the ironing board up ready. It's not a huge pile so shouldn't take long with the TV on.

Anyway, must go and clear away the breakfast things.

Hope you all have a great day and don't get wet or blown away in the wind!

  • Good morning everyone

halight please don't apologise for your long post. You are a ray of sunshine on a miserable day.:D You are such a positive person and I'm sure it's your positive outlook that will get you the job you want. I love reading your posts - they always make me smile. Good luck with the MRI.

Miserable weather here too but I'm feeling quite good as I have been up for a couple of hours now and managed to get quite a few jobs done before I head off to job no 2.

WM is almost finished so will put the washing on the airer before I head out. Which reminds me, I must buy a new airer as the one I have is on its last legs. Trouble is, I'm very fussy about my airers and not just any old one will do.

No idea what I'm making for dinner tonight. Will have a root around in f/f to see if anything appeals.

Aussie I know you don't like him but I'm hoping Andy Murray wins today! :D

    Have a thrilling Thursday. xx

    Morning folks:hello:

Dd still not well, of course when you have a bad cold you always feel worse when you wake up. I shall have to take her to Waitrose later as we have run out of stuff and I need to go to the chemist for more calpol. I'm not sure whether to take her to the dr's or not. They tell you not to even with flu don't they ?-unless you're elderly or very young. What can they do except say -take calpol and fluids? Might ring NHS direct.

Ds1 is also off school today, he has an outpatients appointment at B'ham Children's hosp. OH is taking him. Some of you might remember, he had a procedure under ga just before Xmas. That treatment hasn't worked at all -the lump on his chin is the same as ever. Hopefully he will now be able to have surgery to correct it.

Ds2 has just gone to school as cheerful as ever, except he's fretting about his birthday (in a couple of weeks), he wants a PSP which we think is too expensive. He's a lovely boy but he does like having 'stuff' much more than the others. He's a great one for gadgets.

Right enough of my lot -today is shopping day. I usually do the farmshop then Waitrose but with Dd with me I'll get everything at Waitrose today and then pop to the chemist.

Some sort of pasta for tea I think.

Good morning from dark and dismal Ayrshire.....lots of rain this morning, very heavy earlier on but hopefully not too heavy in half hour so we can walk to school rather than jump in car. Then it will be work and finishing 1/2 hour earlier than usual....I am taking time back I worked before Christmas at 1 hour a week for 4 weeks.....it's lovely being an even more part time part timer than usual! have caught up on washing & ironing.....until the next load! with 3 kids it's never ending is it?
Mince & tatties for tea and hopefully an evening of not doing tooo much!
    Have a lovely Thursday

  • Well it's D Day or me today (dentist) this morning I feel sick already :(, thank you all for the well wishes though I will try to keep them in mind when I am balling my eyes out o the chair!
At the dentist's I went to in the states, he encouraged those with dental fears to bring in an mp3 player with headphones with fave music, an audio book etc while he was doing the work needed. I heard many people say it really helped them to relax. One thing to remember is that it's not going to take all day and you will have the work done that you need. And when you're done, treat yourself to something nice and soft like perhaps ice cream? ;) I know you'll do just fine hun. I'll be there in spirit to hold you hand through it.

    Gentle hugs,
    Peyton xx
