I placed my first order with Boilerjuice today. 900 Ltrs cost £292.95 with Boilerjuice and the cheapest I could get it locally was £305. Delivery to my area is 3 - 5 working days. I hope it arrives.0

Seen a drastic drop in consumption since I replaced the old aluminium DG with UPVC.Just had a delivery to fill the tank, expected it to be in the region of 2000-2200 lts; was pleasantly surprised - 1740 lts. (I hadn't filled the tank last year as it was too expensive)
Total cost £640 - 36.8 ppl
(This time last year £706 for 1500 lts - 47.1 ppl)
One tip from the driver, they charge different prices depending on the ammount - under 1000 lts it was 39.5 ppl. Most people seem to order 500 or 900 lts; it might be worth checking if your supplier has price bands too.
Last 3 orders have been 2035 (filled) 1500 (too expensive to fill) 1740 (filled). The discount locally for over 1000 ltrs was 2.8 ppl. (see above post from Jan) There wasn't a big difference over 1500 - about 0.1 - 0.2 ppl IIRC.
Like you UPVC replacement for old frames made a big difference, as did the cavity insulation.0 -
Price may have changed now but 2 Fridays ago I got 900L for £264 with Maxol Direct. Checked online price first then husband called them & tried to get a discounted rate as he's in Ulster Farmers Union (meant to offer discount). The price quoted over phone was dearer than online and UFU-(so called discounted) rate so we went for the online rate (over the phone!) and saved approx £30.0

:T I went ahead and ordered 500L oil with Boilerjuice who were quoting £168 on Friday. However because I ordered as part of their regular buying weekend when they logg all orders placed during that particular weekend, then tender them on a Monday morning for best price for multiple deliveries in the area, I have secured 500L for £160 and it will be delivered by Carlisle Fuels. Yippee!! a 5% saving. Their price today is £172 - so on that basis I have actually saved £12.
I have used Boilerjuice before and find they have used Nichol Oil and Carlisle Fuels for my deliveries - all companies I have used directly in the past. I have had no problems with Boilerjuice and as this is my first experience of using their Buying weekend to secure a better price I will definately be using them regularly. I still price compare - but can never improve on the Boiler juice price.
So anyone who has doubts about them - take the plunge - it has proved good so far!!Wins since July'08::T £24 money off vouchers Unilever Products, bbq tongs & apron, Day at Spa including Dinner.0 -
Your experience is different to mine.
I run a syndicate, everyone wants to know how much they are saving, so I always ask what the price would be for a single order. That shopping around price has ALWAYS beaten the BJ price.
The syndicate order will always get an extra discount. I usually beat the BJ price by anything from 3-6p/litre. (about 10% to 20% at current prices. I am interested in the effect of a buying weekend. It seems to me like a lottery - you might get a discount if others are ordering. With a syndicate run, we know what's happening.
Start a syndicate. If you want advice I'm happy to help anyone get started.0 -

How long did you wait from ordering your oil until you received the email informing you who was delivering your oil? The only email I have had from them is that I placed my order on Saturday and that I would get an email from the oil distributor today but as of yet I haven't received that email. Hence I don't know who is delivering my oil. :eek:0 -

Richard - I'd be very suprised that you get 3-6p/litre discount. Distributors work off a typical gross margin of around 4p/litre. You were obviously paying too much to start with.0 -

Sometimes it's better to pay that extra few pounds, especially if you've run out, to get a better service from the local oil man.0 -
I always use boilerjuice they usually send carlisle fuels within 2 days of ordering and are alays my cheapest quote.0
