!!!!!!!!! £290 for 1000ltrs or £261 for 900ltrs today. Apparently there is talk of a cut in oil production to stop the price dropping any further.

Toners in Kilrea are quoting today 500 litres for £157 and 900 litres for £269 ... think I might order in case prices rise.

We're about to move into a rented house. The landlord suggested we pay £80-£90 per month to cover the oil. Is it me or is this far too much?

We have two young kids and it's a four-bedroom semi-detached house. I know it varies, but how much is realistic per month over the course of a year?

    Thanks.

i would suggest that you tell him you'll buy your own oil as and when its needed. the price varies so much unless you're going to get receipts directly from the oil company you'll never know exactly how much you're using. sounds like mr landlord is trying to pull a fast one.

Thanks for the help. We've now agreed that we'll measure where it's up to when we move in and when we leave we'll make sure it's at that level again.

We'll still have to put some aside each month, ready for when filling up time comes round. Could anyone tell me what would be a fair amount to budget for each month?

Well a thousand litrs is around the £300 mark atm, but this time last year it was 600 quid so who knows. I think we use on average about £20 (at todays prices) a week but we do have to heat the house during the day from end of sept through to end of may as have elderly inactive parents

Wow! £80/month. We're only paying £49/month for gas at the moment.

Hopefully, we won't use much during the 6 month contract, with it being 'summer', then we'll have to see how it goes.

    Cheers.
