Dd is playing with her Sylvanian families and watching Mamma Mia so she's obviously feeling a bit brighter.
I've a batch of dough rising and a mincemeat bread pud in the oven thus using up the ends of some loaves and the rest of the mincemeat.
I've also processed a load of onions, leeks, carrots plus a red pepper and some tatty mushrooms. Portioned it all up into tubs ready to go in curries, soups, stews etc.
I've started off a batch of yogurt using fresh milk and no dried milk. I'd really love to make it sucessfully without UHt and dried milk which are both too processed for my liking. Trouble is I just can't get it to work with fresh milk
Having a coffee and a sit down now;)0 -

Hillstep - sending you all hugs and good wishes. It does get, if not easier, then more 'doable'.
Moggins - it is allegedly a sign of a strong marriage when you can say that you think of murder often but divorce never! Those moments where you stand in front of your dear heart and think, if I start speaking now we will still be here next Christmas are known to all established couples. And if he is so keen on these vslicers and Kenwood Chefs then I am sure his boss will provide - just in the interest of marital harmony.
Now there is often a little niggle about old style stuff being somewhere within the posts, and my posts have been a little thin of it lately, but I am going to continue madly ebaying until there is room to old style. A nice lady is going to come and value the house tomorrow and it looks like something from a documentary. But I strongly suspect that our house would only be of interest to a builder, so I want to see if it is worth watching House Doctor (dear heart will only watch this if strapped to a chair with a knife to his throat).
I have absolutely no idea what to do for tea, but it will have to be something straight forward.
This morning little bear is, I hope, napping and this afternoon I am going to take him for a long walk around the area to various shops and to a nearby field, depending on temperature. He is looking so tired, and I suspect a cold, but the world is too interesting for him to sleep so he is an exhausted little bear. I shall take him out in his wellies and his little fleece hat with ear flaps and see what he can jump in. I suspect I shall need a pair of wellies soon as well.
However, does anyone have any suggestions about cleaning crayon off things - is stardrops good? Or are there any good tips? Currently crayon is mainly on the drawing paper but also on the plastic blackboard that is only supposed to take chalk and the television screen. Little bear is an artist at heart :D
Crayon shifting - Use Toothpaste , yep you heard it here first, saw it on TV once, i knew if would come in useful at some point......You know your getting old when yougo to the pub sit outsideand admire the hanging basket

It is possible to love someone dearly but still be irritated by them. There is no way I would wish my mum out of my life -I love her, she is a fantastic granny and the kids adore her. I just find her too much in my life at the moment.
I'm truly sorry if I have upset anyone who is grieving for their mums.0 -

I have not been upset by anything you have said, and I am (reasonably) confident that no-one else has. Don't you dare try and bottle it up and not vent on here or I will refer the matter to evil cat  You need to vent, and loved ones are the hardest to deal with sometimes just because you love them so much. If you didn't love them, there wouldn't be a problem.
My darling uncle is a case in point. I love him to bits, but I will have a minimum of half an hour on the phone with him every day, while he talks about the weather. Basically he is lonely. And there are times when I come off the phone ready to cry in frustration at the huge slice of day I have lost and my inability to help him. However I now arrange matters so that his phone calls are not during the time I spend with dear heart, as at one point we unplugged the phone completely and blamed evil cat!
You have a duty to keep your sanity for as long as possible and take all reasonable and nearly reasonable steps to do this.
I think that is why this thread is so lovely - because there is such a wonderful variety of people on here with such a wonderful variety of experiences that we can come on, let off steam, and it is okay!

blairweech & salopman: I saw the first half of that programme too. It made me laugh. The CEO had no idea, loved how he kept saying to Heston 'I want a taste explosion' lol
Also it was interesting that he did not want to say his financial info on camera cos they clearly use sub-standard cheapo ingredients and then slap on a huge mark-up.

Morning all, i'm a bit late logging in because i have been running a virus check on my laptop and i've been on the wii fit and managed all of 14 minutes on it before needing my inhaler
I'm very overweight, have asthma and endure chronic daily headaches/migraines so i do what i can when i can around the house, with exercise etc, but i bought the wii fit for the kids for Christmas and thought i'd go on it myself. If i can just get on it for 20 mins two or three times a week then i will be pleased with myself.
Today i gave my teens their 'dropped scones' for breakfast with butter and syrup and they loved them.
I used the be-ro recipe which is so easy. I made them quite thick though so next time i will add a little more milk to the mixture and make them smaller and thinner, i think. The kids said they tasted hugely better than shop bought syrup pancakes, so not only do they cost less to make but they are tastier too. I made a couple of batches extra and froze them. I am getting the hang of this making and freezing thing now, methinks. I just need to be brave and start thinking about batch cooking main meals now!
I'm going to read through the thread now, hope you all have a great day today - hugs to those who want or need one.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Made a loaf in the breadmaker as we were out of bread and two loads of washing are out on the line.
Going to talk DH into driving me to a big Sainsburys to get their half price Daz and some veggie mince to put in the freezer as well as any other bargains.
Might make home made turkey burgers tonight as that is quite popular with veg and potato slices.
Nice day after yesterday when it seemed to be trying to snow.
No news of the viewers of our house -crossing my fingers and hoping for a "Spring bounce".
DH quite happy as I have cooked a huge brunch for us in the Remoska and he has had some fresh home made bread to go with it.
Hugs to all and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Morning
The snow that fell yesterday has mostly cleared now but there are still some treacherous icy patches so YS and I have decided on another stay at home day cos its flaming freezing with arctic winds so no fun in going out in that needlessly.Hubby is off work for two days after today so I'll get him to chauffeur me around anywhere I need to go
The house is finally beginning to resemble tidy again.I've moved the last of ys christmas toys into his bedroom and tidied the final corner of the girls room.I hate doing the girls room so I tend to do a little each day until its tidy again and then try and keep on top of it.No mean task when they are all at home at the weekend.
I've vacuumed through and cleaned the toilets so the whole house is tidy.
The kids have gone off to school with ham sandwiches, carrot sticks, apples, gingerbread men and juice for lunch.I've taken some Lambs Liver out of the freezer so its Liver and Onions with mash and cabbage for tea, with bread pudding for pud.
Thriftlady-You feel how you feel and that cant be changed.I loathe my MIL and she loathes me and she takes every opportunity to score points off me with OH so I cant ignore the phone or she tells him what I've done and I get it in the ear:mad:
Moggins I'll give you an alibi should you decide to do the dirty deed:rotfl:
MSD - Hows Tristan? I cant remember reading a post from you yesterday so hope things are ok at your end
PP- Hope you are feeling better today and in less pain
