  • I can just see it now :

Security Person .... Hello officer we have aprehended this mother of 3 toddlers, and would like to press charges.
Police officer ... certainly sir lets take some details of the offence ....
SP .... well it's like this, she bought some stuff and paid at the tills .....
    PO ... yes and ...
SP ... well she asked for a refund and to keep the product according to our policy as stated on 'OUR PROMISE' as dictated by our board or directors who report directly to our shareholders.
PO .. oooh how strange that seems a bit odd, why did she ask for the refund.
SP ... well we overcharged her just a few quid, but we are number 1 in the market and can do as we please, and it helps my bonus ;) . Also we don't think that anyone who gets and asks for an R&R is a genuine customer, as we can't overcharge them consistently and get away with it !
PO .... so lets get this straight, you want me to arrest a lady you have overcharged by a few quid, when in fact you have broken the law !!! and you have disobeyed a direct policy instruction from your board of directors, thus opening up potential for prosecution against you !!!
SP ... look officer  if you don't like it  i'll be asking a couple of my burly associates to kick your sorry butt out of the store and there will be no R&R at ALL !! whoops sorry forgot my lines ............ at ALL !!! Every little helps have a nice day !!! We check others prices so we can charge what we like and attempt to get away with it !!!!!! :D

    I love it! lol lol!!!!!!!!!!!

The price integrity department looked pretty kean - he kept walking around the store with his scanner gun at his side held like a wild west cowboy ready to draw from the holster :rotfl:

Tesco PI ...Do you feel lucky punk !! This is the Magnum 45 'tesco's special edition', the most powerful price checker handgun in the world, Was that 6 shots or 5 I can't really remember !! Well do you feel lucky !!

Genuine Customer ... well that maybe so but that poster over there has a lower price so I'll have the R&R, thanks very much BYEEEEEE !!!

narrative ... TPI crys a great deal as he/she is again dragged over the hot coals for being at home to Mr cook-up !!
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D

To be fair, he could have been a stock controller or someone doing reductions, PI are not the only ones to carry "scanner guns"....we prefer memory erasers:D
Sure, might not have been PI.
It was just the way he was holding the gun that amused me.

Strange you should point out it may not have been PI - Was not you was it? ;)

Some people do not know the site etiquette yet, or how to search, think back to your early days and be a little forgiving, this is not a clique.
Rant over! Flameproof suit donned. Waiting.................

Wow, way to misinterpret. He wants it posted in the misprice thread as many people don't read this thread any more, as it's descended into a total waste of time, just people hurling abuse at each other, rather than discussing the actual misprices as it used to be.

highguy was being helpful. See the smilie.

I would have thought a R&R is def in order if the leaflet was picked up in the same store, however most/all the full page spreads(newspapers) with MR T promos always say "at participating stores only" in the small print at the bottom.Having not seen the leaflet myself, does it contain the "participating stores only" on it?.
nope none of that 'participating stores only'cos the csa at the 2nd store i got a refund from tried that!!
the leaflets have been ON SHELVES below or near to the mobys in 3 stores i have visited!

I have said it once and I will say it yet again...

I have said it once and I will say it yet again they are a DISGRACE. Blantant lying under-hand robbers, who have and are consistently stealing money from customers on a daily basis !

Lets take a serious example, bacon overcharged by 42p per pack. Thats 20% overcharge. Convert that into a typical shop say someone buys a couple in an £84 shop, an overcharge of just 84p that's 1%, that seems a minimum overcharge %, I reckon it would be much more than this given the evidence in the meat/diary & entertainment sections, (which are easy to spot) plus others that without detailed scrutiny are more difficult. If turnover is £30bn per year thats £300million, in overcharges, which would reduce profitability directly by that amount. NO WONDER EVERY LITTLE HELPS, every little misprice does £1 in £100 equates to sum large numbers when the bigger picture is viewed.

I feel for those who shop on the internet who are continually stitched up without recourse, other than to say no I'll not bother having the bacon if its 2.48 not 2.06 as it says there, that's if they notice of course.

Such fun reading these posts by !!!!!!. Keeps me sane
