The cpjackson site is an external site.

Is our own misprice thread.0 -
I am glad you can and are thankful for the fact you don`t have to watch how much you spend and can just get what you like without concern for the cost, some of us are not so lucky and although it is not as bad as people dying of hunger we still have our own little lives and our children to think about and watching what we spend and ensuring we are not being ripped off ensures we can pay our mortgage, get out of debt, stop depression, feed our children and buy them new clothes. It makes all the difference.[/QUOTE]
I dont think Tars was saying it wasnt an issue for him, just not as big as others. The very fact he reads this site would indicate that money is something that does concern himAuntie Savingsgirl 24/9/06 :j0 -
Tesco Solihull. Motoroal 171V.
Refused to give R+R as said that that policy only applied to shelf edge labels or stickers on the item. The fact that it was on a leaflet meant that they would honour that price so just giving back the difference.
I was there 45 minutes, it was a complete stuards enquiry, but they would not give anything more than Refund of the difference
I left saying I will be contacting trading standards.0 -
Tars has had an experience today (the guy on the bike) which has put things into perspective briefly for him, i have had occasions like that too, i`m sure everyone has. But we cannot be compared to people who live in third world countries dying of hunger. We live in this country and we have to look after ourselves in our way, i do my own separate bit for charities, but thats not the discussion. In fact bringing that on the discussion is way OTT, this is a Tesco misprice discussion, maybe there should be a separate thread on those mentioned issues, but then it is not to do with money saving, so should not even be on this website! However my comments were with Tars in the fact that things should be in perspective but to do with how r&r`ers are being treated by security and cs staff which is WRONG and they should be worrying about and putting their efforts into more important things. I mean, look at how fluff was treated the other day. That was appalling! YES get things into perspective Tesco people.0

well their policy does say "In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund your money and you can keep the product" so I guess they are quite within their rights to say the policy doesn't apply in this instance. It doesn't say they will give you a refund if it's on a promotional leaflet!0 -
Markus wrote:I can't believe that you are seriously saying that R&R is the same as shoplifting! If you (or any Tesco staff) feel that strongly about someone getting an R&R's - call the police. See how interested they are about someone getting a free Dyson - AS PER TESCO POLICY! I don't think you'll have much luck with them.
I can just see it now :
Security Person .... Hello officer we have aprehended this mother of 3 toddlers, and would like to press charges.
Police officer ... certainly sir lets take some details of the offence ....
SP .... well it's like this, she bought some stuff and paid at the tills .....
PO ... yes and ...
SP ... well she asked for a refund and to keep the product according to our policy as stated on 'OUR PROMISE' as dictated by our board or directors who report directly to our shareholders.
PO .. oooh how strange that seems a bit odd, why did she ask for the refund.
SP ... well we overcharged her just a few quid, but we are number 1 in the market and can do as we please, and it helps my bonus. Also we don't think that anyone who gets and asks for an R&R is a genuine customer, as we can't overcharge them consistently and get away with it !
PO .... so lets get this straight, you want me to arrest a lady you have overcharged by a few quid, when in fact you have broken the law !!! and you have disobeyed a direct policy instruction from your board of directors, thus opening up potential for prosecution against you !!!
SP ... look officer  if you don't like it  i'll be asking a couple of my burly associates to kick your sorry butt out of the store and there will be no R&R at ALL !! whoops sorry forgot my lines ............ at ALL !!! Every little helps have a nice day !!! We check others prices so we can charge what we like and attempt to get away with it !!!!!!
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.
EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items.0 -

Tars, other people have had r&r on these, was this store right to say no because the price was on a leaflet, not a shelf edge or sticker?0 -

Aye sorry all for getting abit preachy (and yes the miserable CS staff need a beating with the happy stick to!). I don't have limitless funds but as a *sniffles* single guy with no dependants I don't have to watch what I spend as those with say kids might have to (I would hope that none of you would give up your kids in exchange for more grocery spending money though!).
I'm here on this site because I like a good deal to. I'm on this thread because I find some of the debate interesting and *gasp* I would like to help where I can.0 -

I was just having a look at that. If the leaflet was being distributed instore then yes I think R & R definately applies. If the leaflet was from elsewhere thats more tricky but still isn't automatically a no.0
