    I've been Money Tipped!
The chinese is the best example here. They know that the packaging is wrong so are overcharging and knowing that they are doing it.

How many people have picked up this offer only because they think it is an offer. If they don't check their receipt and notice the error then Mr Tesco has been very naughty in getting you to buy something because you think it is on deal. When actually its not and full price being charged!!

    Hi Dann

I think you are on dangerous grounds throwing the word "fraudulant" into the mix, you may not realise that several layers ( lawyers!!!!!! ) participate in this forum.

Nice to have an alternative view though, everyone (well nearly everyone ) enjoys the contributions made by spa2k and tars in particular.

IMHO I think the only people who are fraudulant are Tesco giving customers misleading information about the price of their products!
  • I wonder if tesco , asda etc would give us an audit on how many mispriced items go through their till ( must be aeasy to do with computerised stock taking, and how many they pay the leverage for ie, R&R (tesco) £2.00 refund (asda) .I beleive it may make good reading!!

    Just a thought

Also if an item is found to be mispriced why can i go to another store 3 days later and it is still incorrect (refering to motorola v171) surely this should be a priority highlight throught the stores if they are losing money through R&R

If someone is honestly using a price checker for its original purpose and not to check for mispriced items to ‘R&R’ then they wouldn’t have anyone following them. However if you did come into the store with the intention to do fraudulent returns then you should expect a burly chap standing behind you and escorting you from the store if you attempt it. You know what you’re doing is wrong so don't complain when Security come to do their jobs.

they are not fraudulent returns at all, and how can you prove that someone was doing fraudulent returns anyway if that was the case , the point is the silly burly security guys should be concentrating more on the REAL criminals as mentioned before. A fraudulent return is more where something has been stolen and is then taken back. We r&r`ers take the product through the checkout like everyone else, its not our fault Tesco can`t get their prices right so we get a refund as per Tesco policy! :)

Because SEL control is done at store level. Unless its a central problem which is very unlikely then its pretty rare to have the same problem at two stores. Was it an SEL that was wrong or some kind of poster or other price display?

o.k Dann, a question for you, i am doing my usual weekly shop and see something i usually buy is priced incorrectly, i dont have to use the scanner cos lets face it, some of Tesco`s misprices are so obvious they shout at you, scanners are just an extra confirmation of the misprice, should i leave the item on the shelf this week cos it will be a "fraudulent return" if i take it through checkout and then get a refund, and is a security guy going to escort me out if i do it, do they have the right to do it you think? Maybe it is my baby`s formula milk.

Or are you saying i should not follow the policy that Tesco has put there for customers to get a full refund and instead just accept the difference??

    Hi Tars,
can i ask, do your family and friends shop in Tesco, and if so have you warned them about mispricing?

Would be worse if you were in India, Bear1 ...

An Indian judge has sentenced a robber to a life sentence in jail for hurling a slipper at him.
Judge Gongale was quick to duck when Rajkumar Sharma threw his slipper at him.
The 19-year-old appeared before the judge in Mumbai on a charge of robbing an auto rickshaw driver of £5.
Senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani said: "The punishment is excessive but the accused's conduct is unpardonable."
  • If you truly believe Tesco are some evil money hungry corporation only out there to rip off honest customers then fair enough but two wrongs don’t make a right. Many of you are going into their stores and intentionally deceiving staff into believing you’re an honest customer who was overcharged. The policy is there as a courtesy for genuine customers, not folks who want free goods off Tesco.

I will admit in most cases it is very hard to prove the intent but when people take photos of the SEL’s, scan the barcode at a price scanner and then go buy 10 of the same item immediately taking them to the customer service desk after its obvious what is going on. Like many shoplifters I speak to they all think Tesco has enough money and no one will care if a hundred pounds goes missing, as if they deserve it.

I’m not really bothered people do this as they all get caught out eventually but when they do I just hope they have the sense to hold their hands up high and admit it’s a fair cop.
