bear1 wrote:so if i happen to stumble across a misprice whilst i am checking on the customer scanner, is it right for me to take that item through the till without saying anything knowing im going to be overcharged then going to the cs desk for a refund? Or should i be highlighting it as i go through the till?
that is a matter for you and your conscience. You will have been overcharged if the SEL indicates a lower price than you were charged however it is more of a moral issue as you would full well know the price that you were going to be charged. The majority of people on here would say go for it, and I will neither condemn it or condone it. I will leave the moral high ground for someone else!!Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

I would neither condemn it or condone it either.
I'd be too busy just doing it!!!!!!!
After all Tesco are fully aware that they are ripping genuine customers off over the chinese takeaway mis-representation so if they don't have any morals why should I!0 -

I see the ? of morals has arisen. If thats the case then can someone tell me why T with all his IT resources cant trace those clubcard holders who have been overcharged over the years and refund them. Now that would be a moral gesture wouldnt it? Dont think for a moment T will go down that route though.0 -
georgiac wrote:Just a thought , the chinese take away incident has been reported to Head Office by the stores, yet they still persist in ripping customers off.
Anyone that does not check their receipts is out of pocket by £1.40, having possibly been tempted to make the purchase by false advertising on the packaging.
Why have Tesco not corrected the overcharge - maybe they make a decent amount of money that more than compensates for the r&r'ers.
After all could they not have put the price reduction stickers on them as they do in many stores when the product is incorrectly labelled?
p.s. the crackers were delicious!
Out of interest georgiac, how do you know that the overcharge has been reported to HO?
The comment that i would make is that even if it had, the promotion still takes time to set up on the system and even then, the head office system still needs to interact with the stores systems and this unfortunately takes time....stores can set them up at a local level but it is up to each store to do so and they cant really do it without some sort of superior authorisation.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

I will ask you one question....how would tesco know which labels were wrong in which store? And surely the refunds would be going to the wrong people after your little screw tesco and their clubcard system campaign!!!!!

Hi spa2k
I was told by CS that HO had been informed as was another customer, I can only take a Tesco Customer service person's word as gospel now can't I!!!!!!!
Best wishes

They've told them over and over, according to him, but they haven't sent the correct ones yet, so they will continue to use them and refund anyone who's overcharged (and notices the overcharge, obviously). He said it's entirely their own fault, and they are happy to give refunds to customers who are overcharged.

Dont you think Spa2K that Tesco deserve the public playing this game with them. After all they've asked for all of this.0
