Tesco misprice policy discussion area part III

According to lovely CS man at Leyland Tesco today, the Chinese meal offer (2 for £10) ended as long ago as Tuesday, but HO are still sending out the bags with the offer on. They've told them over and over, according to him, but they haven't sent the correct ones yet, so they will continue to use them and refund anyone who's overcharged (and notices the overcharge, obviously). He said it's entirely their own fault, and they are happy to give refunds to customers who are overcharged.

Hi sarahg
Wonder if you had the same nice guy at Leyland that I did yesterday, he was excellent, slightly rotund and v. friendly. I've had varying degrees of "friendliness" at Leyland, he was by far the best.0 -

I have 2 different games, still with all the original packaging untouched both of which were charged well over £30 and not the lower price advertised on the poster.
The store refused a refund as 'the poster only meant that some of the listed games were priced under X' and when I phoned customer services they called the store, having no knowlege of the details of the poster themselves, and accepted the stores interpretation.
I also e-mailed customer services, with photos of the poster and my receipts but response was "the prices on the poster relate to the prices at tesco.com"!!! No offer of R+R and ignoring my comments that 2 different prices were on display and i was wrongly charged the higher price.
I have reported to TS but they did say that any action against tesco ie posible fine, would not necessarily have any bearing on my discussions with Tesco.
I have left this for a couple of weeks now so realy need to follow up or try to return the games and get my money back.

Sorry for such a large quote of my own post but I now have this resolved to my satisfaction - As Trading Standards were unlikely to help me and Tesco were clearly in the wrong my next step was to post here asking how I go about pursuing this through small claims court. I have all the evidence I need to verify that I was overcharged and that Tesco failed to abide by their own R&R policy.
Anyway, popped in to get some milk at 9:45 pm this evening and had a quick look at the xbox games as I always do. On the adjacent shelf spotted label for the 20% off all chart games which of course should have been removed days ago. I resisted the temptation to move this to the xbox shelf (just as well - CS later said someone could have just put that there and I wouldnt want them checking security tapes seeing me do just that). Also resisted taking one of every game on every format which i suppose I could have done. Picked up the same two games I was overcharged on previously and one correctly priced from the reduced section which I wanted anyway. Paid and went to CS to get my money back.
CS said offer finished and that promotional lable not over the xbox games - politely stood my ground and asked to see manager - 2 persons came - strangely no mention of the offer date, even though they spotted it but they said didnt apply to the xbox games as no yellow SEL offer label on the games. I said the label on the shelf clearly applies to all chart games and that the 20% discount should have been deducted at checkout.
Back at the till with the shop closing she instructs CS to give me the difference (till already closed!!) - what about R&R policy - 'you cant have that - its at managers discretion' Asked where it says that, she goes off to see the manager taking my receipt, promotion label and the games - I really thought this could go on all night. Comes back and asks the CS to do the full refund. CS asked for my name and address as over £10 which I gave - let them keep a file on me if they want to.
Next week I'll return the original games I purchased that I was refused R&R on, get my money back and I shall be happy once more.
Getting to the point here - There have been a number of posts recently re legitimate R&R's being refused - if this has happened to you (and you are not shelf clearing or being nasty to those lovely Tesco staff) please do not give up. Do refer to TS and small claims court if necessary. The R&R policy is no use to Tesco or customers if we allow them to refuse to R&R when they feel like it.
Unfortnatley, due to this distraction, I didnt get the milk.

Been lying a bit low with misprices after a bumper couple of months before Christmas. I've had a look but haven't been really checking- so the chinese meal misprice is so perfect that it has tempted me back into the fray. :j
The msg levels in my house are pretty high just now- its so perfect because its on the pack, so no hassle. Thanks to the people who posted about it. :beer:0 -

That sounds very likely. Sadly the commercial side of the company don't seem to have a clue as to what works and what doesnt offer wise... O look if we send these products out with offer stickers on then surely someone in IT will make it work for us.
Tars... who got kicked out of his nice friendly building so the nice offices could be given to commercial tards. I'm not bitterSeriously though.. They do this kinda stuff all the time.

Sorry to hear T wouldnt let you photograph the evidence. Must have been because his untruthes would have come to light. I really am disgusted by this treatment and dislike seeing it condoned by some on this site.

Yes, that could well be the one. Scottish, possibly (I can't recall)? Told me he works in price integrity. Very refreshing!
