I reckon that they take the Clubcard numbers of everybody they have to give a refund to. Then, next time they buy some food, there's a signal embedded into the barcode scanner that genetically modifies it. After a while you begin to believe that Tesco are pretty nice people really and would never dream of asking for a refund as a result of a mistake. Finally, you start posting to MSE saying how great Tesco are compared with Morrissons, Asda, Sainsbury etc.
I LOVE TESCO, I LOVE TESCO (repeat ad-finitum in a stupid robitic brainwashed voice)

Me too. I love Grumpy Tesco....There's nowhere else to shop as long as he gives RRs. Soon as they stop I am back to Sainsburys to happy CS smiles.0

WARNING - Make sure that any game you buy that is not sealed when it comes out of the security box/thing actually contains the game. Just got R+R on yet another £14.94 Nintendo DS game (Retro Atari), and the damn thing's empty.
Can someone scan Smallville Season 1 boxset for me in a store with a working scanner? Seen one stickered lower than the SEL, want to know whether to go back for it.0 -
Had to giggle this morning:
About 6 weeks ago i went to buy a Tom Tom Sat Nav and by pure luck it was an overcharge and i got my first R&R. Since then i am always on the look out for a winner and i must have had plenty in the past weeks. But on the other hand we always shop there anyway and we do spend £100's all the time! Yesterday i bought a couple of games that were overcharged and i am sure i am beginning to be a known face in there.
Anyway, today i took a friend to the same store as he was desperate for a Sat Nav and i noticed the have reduced them all. The top line Tom Tom 700 is only £340 which is a very good price so he wanted to get one.
From the moment i entered the store i felt eyes upon me! While at the electrical desk 3 staff (shirts and suits) stood only 10 feet anyway watching my every move! The assistant even received a call while serving us which was very fishy.
This whole thing really made me chuckle....i bet they have a rogues gallery somewhere with wanted style posters! Next time i am going to spend a couple of hours browsing every isle.
Perhaps if the staff spent more time ensuring the prices were correct than watching me there would be no need for the surveillence. I spotted 3 mis prices within the 10 mins we were there today and i only went up one isle. Is it really that hard for them to see them too?TESCO R&R was so much fun!.. Over a grand made!0 -
I went to Tesco today and shopped and bought a few overpriced items and decided to have a look at Jordans and Glorias book...Barrow Tesco dont have any posters nor do they have red stickers on dvds or cds so they are up to the ball with stuff. However the How not to decorate book was still stickered, I put one in trolley and luckily fo rme daughter covered with a magazine as three tesco people , two in suits, came thundering down the aisle stopped at the books and took them off the shelf immediately, and the manager was saying she has lost us 90.00s today, they knew about this misprice which is why she bought nine, they were never all for easter presents!!
SOOOO someone got the books, 90.00 and stopped anyone else being able to get anything. I would be so mad to see these on ebay....if I get a r&r i tend to list it on site then go back at weekend for refund enabling others to enjoy Mr Ts misprice.
When I went to CS I was told oh, I thought all of these had been removed I will have to speak to the manager, but he was too harassed to care about one book and let me have it, however they were all very very grumpy, do they get into trouble for r&rs and if so why not hire mystery shoppers?? I dread they day I am banned from Tesco as I keep forgetting NOT to use my clubcard BUT if I am overcharged how can they punish you for their mistake????I wished upon a star tonight that I would see you once more,
To hold you in my arms and tell you how much I love you,
To hear your voice, to kiss your cheek oh for just one more time,
But all I have are memories and a heart full of love and tears.0 -

If I'm getting an r+r, then I don't use my clubcard.0 -
Copied over from misprice only threaddoogie wrote:Saw but didn't take, Tesco Value Microwave, SELs at 24.43 and 24.44... I'm guessing it would scan at the higher price, but wasn't sure (store has no scanner) so I left it... anyone seen that?
Where there are 2 prices like this on the shelf, if you look at the barcodes on the tickets there are 2 very last digits after a slash. I've figured out that these are sequential - so xxxxxxxx/01 will have been printed off the system before xxxxxxxx/02 so it's probable you'll be charged whatever is on xxxxxxxx/02 as it's a newer label.
Not foolproof however, just an indication, it's always possible that the system has been updated a third time with no new label put out.0
