fdj100 - I find your postings quite offensive - this is a website where all members are to help each other save money (hence why it i called moneysavingexpert) and try to prevent large companies ripping us off, not taking the mickey out of people because Tescos have not stuck to their policy - you are obviously sticking up for Tescos as you work for them, which I find SAD!

I suppose if you purchased something in Sainsburys and got overcharged that would be a different matter.

I think you may want to look for the 'rip people off' website instead and post on their forum.

In this instance, you will only be charged more compared to other stores, not against a lower price that's advertised in the same store.

Prices fluctuate between stores anyway - although Tesco say that they don't this is an untruth - Hovis Grannary Bread in Yarmouth is £.79 and Caister (3 miles away) it's £.72.

This is not illegal, nor does it fall within the realms of their policy. If you can buy something cheaper elsewhere, that's fine - buy it elsewhere, it's your choice as a consumer.

Can I ask whom from Tesco said that they don't vary prices from store to store? The person who said that is either mistaken or lying (I suspect mistaken).

Only this week I have noticed certain items priced differently in different stores. I was quite surprised as they are only within a couple of miles of each other.

We have a "normal" store and a Metro store within a couple of miles and their prices are often quite different.

The Metro store has noticably higher prices for the everyday essentials but also seems to carry some of the special offers.

I was overcahrged in my local tesco last week for the Valentine Dinner for Two set, stickered £4.47, SEL £4.97. I got R & R no problem but I noticed the next day that the SEl hadn't been altered but all the £4.47 stickers had been scraped off the boxes!

Also I was overcharged for caffeine free diet coke (posted on misprice thread), same girl R & R no problem, and again the lower price SEL (large price comparioson one) was removed!

    Do they always do this?

  • This used to be a great site, a real benefit. Never posted until recently.

It staggers me that there such people out there who will attack, shout and curse staff for making mistakes. These people are now posting on here!

Lets all get a grip shall we? Ripping into whatever retail staff for the sake of a few pounds or pence is not on. Whatever happened to good old politeness?

    D.

    PS
Have you noticed the amount of posters repeating the same posts over and over again? Cant be bothered to use the search facility -pure laziness, prob the same posters who spit their dummy out when they dont get their 10 clubcard points.

    10 Points is 10p or 1p, thats why it's called |MoneySavingExpert! ;)

    Dear Tars,
thankyou for your kind words.Ive found out who the main manager is but he isnt "conveniently" rotad on this week.I'm going to ring customer services first thing and shall update.Ive never had an r&r in this store before so hasnt been like its something I do there weekly!
I was wondering rather than suffering indignity of going back to that store can I go to another to request my refund?
  • Go to a solicitor instead.

Having read all the posts today I can see much interest and more intolerance with Tescos. Today I rang C/S h/o to complain about service, we will ring you right back, 3 hours later I rang back, no record of your call but she will get the store manager in question to ring me back right away, still waiting.

It is plane to me that we are ripped off daily, the sophisticated pricing software that is in place in tesco is obviously not switched on.

Today in furry rang trading standards (I got the number from the DTI head office)
No not trading standards but a customer services for them I explained I am fed up being overcharged at tesco , to my surprise he told me about his mum who also has the same problem as all of us she is constantly overcharged, so he will pass on my complaint to t/s and it will be logged, YES I AM GETTING SOMEWERE .
No not quite if enough people complain maybe the store in question will be spoken to about the problem, and see what can be done about it.
Right so can you give me the number for T/S Preston,
No it’s me you come to I just log the complaints,
So there is no way of knowing if my complaint is being dealt with,
    No afraid not sorry,
if it is a criminal offence will a police officer come if I am overcharged and ring them, you would be lucky to get one if you was burgled ,
    Your right.
If I shoplift will they come?
    In a flash.

Wee have two ways of sorting this tesco overpricing out (I know many do not want it stopping))
1, we all go and recruit take them with us and clean the shelves out (not just one item all of them,
2, we all complain about the same products to all the trading standards around the country every day.
