[ I would assume you recived little or no injuries which would mean this is a common assault, not arrestable. I would guess due to the nature of the incident suitable advice would be passed to both parties.
Saying that give them a ring see what happens.
if you have a gash on your arm this is more serious than commom assault. commom assault is only when you haven't been marked. thats what the police said when a mother smacked our head teacher, as he wasn't marked they wouldn't do anything!:snow_laug :j0 -
spender wrote:the law changed on the 1st January, you can arrest for basically anything now including common assault. Would go to the doctor's to get the injury logged.
The arrest would still have to meet certain criteria and i can assure this wouldnt.
At best it would be a report for summons.Watch out, you never know who is about.0 -

Thanks for the reply spa2k, but is this really ethical, if Tesco have an offer on, which they do, that is in date, which this was, and have products overpriced as these were, surely they are still overcharging on the products, the fact that the SEL has been removed doesn't mean Tesco's hve removed the offer, just that customers don't realise they have been fleeced.
Is this accurate or just my interpretation?
Please don't get me wrong I wasn't having a go at this particular CS, she was excellent, curteous, polite and sincere.
In this instance, you will only be charged more compared to other stores, not against a lower price that's advertised in the same store.
Prices fluctuate between stores anyway - although Tesco say that they don't this is an untruth - Hovis Grannary Bread in Yarmouth is £.79 and Caister (3 miles away) it's £.72.
This is not illegal, nor does it fall within the realms of their policy. If you can buy something cheaper elsewhere, that's fine - buy it elsewhere, it's your choice as a consumer.0 -

my appologies i skipped the "gash on the arm" bit. You are right this has the potential to be more than a common assault.Watch out, you never know who is about.0 -
flufff wrote:Just came back from Tesco wont say publicly which one.Not my normal store but I was passing and it was on my route.Spotted Medal of Honour European Assault game at £39.99 in top 20(no 20).All top 20 games under £30.
First they tried to say that was dot com price then said only applied to 75% of games were adamant taking games off me and refunding even though I threatened them with trading standards as had took pics on my phone.Manageress was awful as was CS.In end I had to prize my games back. They refused to add on my points.i was fuming red faced queue behind.Had spare leaflet on counter showing under £30 price which along with their names informed them I was taking as price evidence.
Well i was treated like criminal had my wrist wrenched poster grabbed back and now have a nasty gash on my arm.Cheeky mare said I was a thief for taking a spare poster said I'd assaulted her taking poster! It was on counter and I'm sure all on camera. They left other poster on display.
Ive still got game and receipt and photo on phone although will need blowing up.
Advice please.I'm really upset hurt and angry over way I was treated.
This is not on. I was treated like a thief last week - 'oh someone one (dirty look at me) has stuck the sticker on, it's not that price'. Why can't they accept that they have messed up. With the PS2 games, they have a massive sign saying 'PS2 games under £30' so why does no-one in what seems like the majority of stores notice Medal of Honour sticking out at number 20 at £39.99??. This is incompetence and is misleading customers. I would take a picture of your arm and send it to the store and head office. Or just take the game and receipt straight to Trading Standards.0 -

are you really happy in your job? not long now to the Tesco Xmas Party, all those extra value sausage rolls, what a way to say thanks to your staff. Re the scanners, they should be fixed when they break down. Apparantley every little helps, well a scanner would help me as i like to keep a tally of what's in my basket, yet they end up broken for ages. If I walked into your store tomorrow would you have this attitude with a customer? Is this what all staff think of customers?0 -
My job is to do what Im told as is yours and the people on CS
Sorry to say you are wrong on this post to some extent, we are told to question any instruction we are not happy with, I dont mean argue the point but question the instruction to see if it is in fact the correct way of doing this certain task and if we as staff can impliment it a better way then we can do so.0
