Just came back from Tesco wont say publicly which one.Not my normal store but I was passing and it was on my route.Spotted Medal of Honour European Assault game at £39.99 in top 20(no 20).All top 20 games under £30.
First they tried to say that was dot com price then said only applied to 75% of games were adamant taking games off me and refunding even though I threatened them with trading standards as had took pics on my phone.Manageress was awful as was CS.In end I had to prize my games back. They refused to add on my points.i was fuming red faced queue behind.Had spare leaflet on counter showing under £30 price which along with their names informed them I was taking as price evidence.
Well i was treated like criminal had my wrist wrenched poster grabbed back and now have a nasty gash on my arm.Cheeky mare said I was a thief for taking a spare poster said I'd assaulted her taking poster! It was on counter and I'm sure all on camera. They left other poster on display.
Ive still got game and receipt and photo on phone although will need blowing up.
Advice please.I'm really upset hurt and angry over way I was treated.
  • if that was you assaulting them they would have called the police straight away .dont let them get away with it .phone the police pronto.
totally shocked by this and hope youre ok
  • I would say that the moment they physically touched you in a forcefull manner then they have assaulted you. As for you taking the poster or attempting to take the poster that is theft. Tescos owns the poster and you have no right to remove it. Spare or not it makes no difference.
As for the R&R they should have given it to you. Myself and bro have both done this.

Worse bit is this was all in front of 2 of my children.I'm mostly shook up and very angry at way I have been made to feel a criminal simnply for wanting refund for overcharge.Technically as i took a spare poster of theirs piece of paper would police just laugh at this. The woman refused to give me her surname but the manageress said she shared same first name as hers which i have in writing.Would poliuce take me seriously?A security guard sat on his butt at entrance and didnt do a thing.

I Would Phone The Police Aswell, Or Go There And Show Them Your Arm.
I Would Definitely Phone Head Office Asap. Make Sure You Have A Very Good Photo Of Your Arm, And If I Was You I Would Sue Them.
    Hope You Are Okay

  • The poster belongs to the store, there fore it would have been a theft if you took it. The police however would have very little interest in this due to the nature of the incident. As for the assault thats another mater. I would assume you recived little or no injuries which would mean this is a common assault, not arrestable. I would guess due to the nature of the incident suitable advice would be passed to both parties.
Saying that give them a ring see what happens.

I would definitely phone the police NOW, and get them to look at cctv coverage.
i think you should repost your message to the disscussion thread though as this is only for misprices

Any photo for evidential purposes would have to come from a scenes of crime officer. Home made photos tend to be greatlly exagerated

the law changed on the 1st January, you can arrest for basically anything now including common assault. Would go to the doctor's to get the injury logged.
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

Tesco is meant to be the biggest and the best supermarket, yet there is always a hassle each time I go in. One in front is in my opinion one big lie, and I always end up queueing (particular on basket tills, which is where the 20 mins comes in). I should also not be overcharged. After being overcharged last Sat the CS assistant had to get a manager, who took 15 minutes to come to the desk. The CS assistants were apologising to me and telling me that it was not on. The manager did not apologise for keeping me waiting and tried to go against the overcharging policy. It seems to me there are those at Tesco who want to climb the corporate ladder and and those who just want a shop job, and there seems to be a vast difference between the two. I appreciate that some customers give you flack, but customers have been giving flack to Tesco for many years. Tesco have listened to most of it, which is why have have been successful.

If you get this kind of hassle during normal hours, telephone head office while you stand there and get them to speak to the staff direct.
