Thanks for that.
only problem is as with both when i was at school on a sports day or in the army on some kind of running comp. If i see people in front any sence of pace go's out the window and it hell for leather after them all.:oCabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0 -
Thanks but I cheated a little - I used visualisation of me crossing the finish line in the time I was after and I forgot almost to start running when the start happened - it took me totally by surprise

It was quite annoying to see 400 runners pass me through the course of the race though - but I just kept saying to myself - 'run your own race dont caught up with everyone else' and I kind of forgot they were there really - probably why I was chatting for two miles and not quite at my full racing pace
Sorry for subjecting you to my singing on the way back to London Rich - poor you

As strange as it seems, that is quite a rarity recently...............but Monday is a convenient rest day for a lot of people!

Ukevas, it still counts when you run a good time on the flat - even if we northerners do tend to think of it as cheating!:p

Well Morning all.
I cannot believe it iv had weekend of rest, just catching up on sleep and iv missed the start of the new thread and 5 pages of wonderful support and excellent time.
Well done rich and becks on your race.
Ukevas well done on getting a faster time you most be pleased, i know im happy everytime i managed to beat a distance time.
Iv got some sort of circuit training today, so if its not too hard i may go for a run, just depends on if its overloading the legs, will have to give a run a miss.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -
Hey guys..
Ooh, shiney new thread - how exciting!
Well, my "get back to running thing" is still more or less on track, after the 5.5 on thursay, had a rest, then 7.75 on Saturday (1:04something - 8:29 pace) and am hopefully off out today.
At the risk of sounding like an old lady, though, I fell in the supermarket yesterday and landed on my knee and hip, which has made them a little sore. If they're stiff when I get out, I might take it easy, but hope I'll be ok.
Well done on the race Rich, Becky - great running...and a *fantastic* time, Rich...
Are we gonna have a race calendar on this thread, or has that fallen by the wayside?0 -
Rich can you import the race list later from the old thread later?
Well done on getting out Idio - nice running - did the pace feel tough or easy going?? Sorry about your fall though!
Enjoy circuits JJ (you nutter
)!
Oh and another thing - I ran over 40 miles last week for the first time ever and am hoping to get over 50 this week
